Karachi Board (BIEK) migration certificates, duplicate marksheets and intermediate certificates are now applied for only online, at portal.biek.edu.pk, and the board's paper forms print a fee of Rs 1,000 for each document. You pay through Kuick Pay and the board sends the finished document to your address by Pakistan Post's Urgent Mail Service.

That change started on 25 March 2026. Before it, students queued at the board office in North Nazimabad. Below you will find every document the portal issues, the fee printed for each, the papers to keep ready, and what to do when an application stalls. We read the board's press release and its forms, and opened the portal on 25 October 2026.

BIEK issues nine documents online only since 25 March 2026

BIEK press release No. 047, dated 10 March 2026, says that from 25 March 2026 nine documents are issued only online. Students should not come to the board for them. Applications go through portal.biek.edu.pk, fees through Kuick Pay.

The board says about 80 per cent of students were already getting their documents at home through the online service. It cited the cost of travel after the rise in petrol prices as one reason for going fully online.

Apply for a BIEK migration certificate in six steps on the portal

Open portal.biek.edu.pk, choose Migration Certificate, fill in your roll number, year and group, upload what it asks for, pay through Kuick Pay, and track the application. The certificate arrives by Urgent Mail Service.

  1. Open portal.biek.edu.pk and choose Apply Online.
  2. Pick the document, for example Migration Certificate or Duplicate Marksheet.
  3. Enter your HSC roll number, exam year, annual or supplementary, and group.
  4. Add your CNIC number, phone number and a full postal address for delivery.
  5. Pay the fee through Kuick Pay in your banking app, mobile wallet or at a bank.
  6. Use Track Your Application on the same portal to follow the status.

Write the postal address with care. The board sends the finished document by Urgent Mail Service, so a missing house number or wrong street sends your certificate on a tour of the city instead of to your door.

Steps to apply for a BIEK migration certificate online in Karachi

Keep these papers ready before you start the BIEK form

The BIEK migration form asks regular students to get the form attested by their college principal and to attach a copy of the enrolment or registration card and the admit card or marksheet. Keep scans of these ready before you open the portal.

The board's paper forms also ask for an unattested photograph, CNIC number, contact number, and the name of your college or "private". The migration form warns that a migration certificate is issued only once. A second one needs proof that the original was lost, and it goes only to the candidate in person or by name.

Scan documents as clear PDFs or photos before you begin. If you only have a phone, scanning documents to PDF on a phone works well enough for upload.

Urgent and normal processing have different timelines

The BIEK forms say documents applied for under the normal fee are issued after 15 working days, not counting holidays. Urgent documents are issued on the date the office gives. The forms print a one day issuance duration next to the Rs 1,000 fee.

The forms also say the delivery date is approximate and can move because of holidays, power failures or other problems. Documents not collected within 30 days of issue are discarded, and you would have to apply and pay again. With home delivery that last rule matters less, but keep your phone on so the courier can reach you.

Need the document for a deadline, such as a university admission? Apply at least three weeks ahead. That covers the 15 working days plus postal time.

What to do when your BIEK application is stuck

First check the status on the portal's Track Your Application option. If it has not moved after 15 working days, call the help line printed on the portal, 021-9926-0217, between 9 am and 5 pm, with your application number and payment record.

Never hand originals or fees to an agent outside the board. The board's own notice tells students to apply online and not to come to the board for these documents.

Other boards and IBCC need their own applications

BIEK covers intermediate only. Your matric documents come from the Board of Secondary Education Karachi. Equivalence and attestation for use abroad go through IBCC, which is a separate application with its own fee.

If you studied in another province, the process differs by board. A student from Punjab follows the BISE Lahore migration certificate route, and a Peshawar student follows the BISE Peshawar migration certificate steps. For use abroad, IBCC attestation of matric and inter certificates is the next step after you receive your BIEK documents.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read BIEK press release No. 047 dated 10 March 2026 on the BIEK press release page, the board's migration, certificate, provisional, verification, scrutiny and duplicate forms, and opened the BIEK online document portal on 25 October 2026. We did not submit an application or reach the payment step, so we could not confirm the live portal fee, and the duplicate admit card, enrolment and registration fees were not legible in the form text we read.
