Short answer: PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lists 1700 as its helpline. The same header lists the phone numbers 091-9219635 and 091-9219636. The website at pdma.gov.pk carries the KP weather advisory, the daily situation report and hazard maps. Call Rescue 1122 first if someone is hurt.

When a flash flood, landslide or heavy snow hits a valley, villagers want one number to call. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gives 1700. We read pdma.gov.pk on 14 October 2026, including its PEOC page and contacts. This is what the site says and what it leaves out.

1700 is the PDMA KP helpline on its home page

The home page of pdma.gov.pk shows "Help line 1700" in its header, with the phone numbers 091-9219635 and 091-9219636 and an email address beside it. The site does not say which number reaches the PEOC.

PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa helpline 1700 and PEOC phone numbers

We could not confirm from the site whether 1700 is staffed 24 hours, whether it is free from a mobile phone, or how fast it answers. We did not call it. The page also lists an email contact. The header shows peoc.kp@pdma.gov.pk, while the mail link on the page opens a message to incharge.peoc@pdma.gov.pk. If one bounces, try the other.

PDMA also runs a Facebook page, pdmakpofficial, and an X account, pdmakp. Save the helpline number in your phone now. In a storm the network may be slow, and a number you have to search for costs time. Share it with neighbours who have no smartphone, and with anyone who travels north with you.

The PEOC page says the centre coordinates between provincial departments and district administrations in emergencies. Its core functions include timely communication, better emergency response, managing disasters, analysing information and preparing situation reports. It also helps senior officials estimate relief and rehabilitation needs.

For a villager that means a report to 1700 can be passed to district officers and the units that respond on the ground. It is not an ambulance. Rescue 1122 handles the immediate rescue and medical call, and the district administration handles local events.

Steps to report a disaster to PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 1700
  1. Move people to safety and call 1122 if anyone is hurt or trapped.
  2. Call 1700 and name your district, tehsil and village.
  3. State what happened in one sentence, such as a road washed away.
  4. Give a working mobile number.
  5. Note the time of the call and anyone you spoke to.

The website hosts weather, situation reports and maps

The home page links KP Daily Weather, KP Weather Advisory and KP Daily Situation, and a Maps menu with flood, seismic, GLOF, heat wave, landslide and climate maps. GLOF means a glacial lake outburst flood, a sudden flood from a burst glacier lake.

Contingency plansWinter plan 2025-26 is the newest winter plan listed

The two advisory dates differ: the weather advisory page showed 5 October while the news list shows a 9 October advisory. If you need the latest, open the news list entry, and check the weather forecast itself. NDMA keeps the national list, as getting NDMA alerts explains.

Weather in the north can turn quickly. PMD recently warned of slides, as in the landslide warning for Chitral, Swat and Abbottabad, and the road status for Naran, Swat and Chitral tells you which routes are open.

The winter plan and tourist notes are worth reading before snow

PDMA lists winter contingency plans from 2019-20 to 2025-26. We saw no 2026-27 winter plan yet. It also lists "Preparative Measures for Tourist Areas" notices dated 24 and 29 January 2026, which show how it warned travellers last winter.

Read the national rules in protecting your home from snow and cold and staying safe in an avalanche.

The site also has a Psychological First Aid guideline for people who have lived through a disaster. The authority launched a Disaster Risk Reduction Policy 2026 on 17 August, which it says moves the province from response towards prevention.

Compensation rules are listed on the same site

PDMA lists compensation categories for natural disasters: death, injury, loss of property, loss of livestock and loss of crops and orchards. It also lists regulations for civilian victims and for natural calamities, both dated 2025. The amounts sit in notified schedules.

The Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department, which PDMA sits within, has also announced a complaint system against government departments. We covered it in the KP complaint WhatsApp number and email report, and it was not yet published on an official page at the time.
