Check the 14 October 2026 PM review: Apna Ghar Rs 448 billion approved, Rs 76 billion paid, 5 papers not 25, and June 2027 targets for SME and farm loans.

Short answer: At a review on 14 October 2026, banks told the Prime Minister's meeting that 75,198 Apna Ghar loans worth Rs 448 billion are approved, and 14,000 people have received Rs 76 billion. Housing loan papers fell from 25 to 5 and decisions are due in 15 business days.
We opened the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) press release dated 14 October 2026. It is published in Urdu, and we read it in full. It lists the figures the banks presented, the targets for June 2027 and the PM's orders. This guide sets out what you can check against your own loan file and what is still only a plan.
Apna Ghar has Rs 448 billion approved but only Rs 76 billion paid out
The briefing said 75,198 Apna Ghar loans worth Rs 448 billion have been approved. Money has reached 14,000 borrowers, a total of Rs 76 billion. By our arithmetic, about 17 per cent of the approved value has been paid so far.

These numbers are higher than the ones the Finance Minister gave on 1 October, which were Rs 60 billion financed and Rs 340 billion approved. The two dates differ, so the figures differ. Our report on the Finance Minister's figures explains the stages between approval and payment.
The briefing also set a goal for this year: Rs 700 billion of housing loans for 125,000 housing units. The release does not say how much has been reached against that goal, only the totals above.
Housing loan papers drop from 25 to 5 and decisions are due in 15 business days
The briefing said the time to process a housing finance application is now limited to 15 business days. It also said the number of documents asked for has been cut from 25 to 5. The release does not list the five documents, so ask your bank for its checklist.
The PM also told officials to make the data needed for Apna Ghar applicants easier to provide. He asked for an easier way to get an "Unencumbered Title Deed", which is a property ownership paper showing no dispute or charge on the property. Developers' finance is separate, and a committee is still working on it.
| Housing finance item | Figure in the PMO release |

Farm loans stand at Rs 1,352 billion with a Rs 1,500 billion target for June 2027
The briefing put total agricultural lending at Rs 1,352 billion, reaching 3.455 million people. The target for June 2027 is Rs 1,500 billion and 4.5 million beneficiaries. By our arithmetic, that is Rs 148 billion more in loans and about 1.05 million more farmers.

The PM also asked for idle godowns and silos of PASSCO, the state grain agency, to be run under public-private partnership. He praised a model from Allied Bank, in which a bank-built store holds a farmer's crop and the farmer can borrow against the stored grain. He asked that it grow with private sector help.

SME lending is Rs 1,137 billion across 352,000 businesses with a Rs 1,500 billion target
The briefing said more than 352,000 small and medium businesses have received Rs 1,137 billion in loans. The June 2027 target is Rs 1,500 billion and 575,000 borrowers. By our arithmetic, that needs Rs 363 billion more and roughly 223,000 more businesses.

Officials told the meeting that revised SME rules are being prepared. They named shared risk between lenders, supply chain finance and trusted data sharing as measures under way. The PM also welcomed an Allied Bank plan for an SME park. A small business owner can compare products on our page about SMEDA's bank loan portal.
The PM gave banks and ministries until the end of October to consult and report
The PM told the ministries, secretaries and the State Bank to consult stakeholders in SME, agriculture and housing finance. They are to finish this month and give recommendations. He encouraged banks that lead on lending and told weaker ones to improve.
- Ministries and the State Bank consult borrowers, banks and developers.
- They send recommendations by the end of October 2026.
- Rules for SME loans and housing finance are then revised.
- The June 2027 targets are the first test of results.
Some reports mention an SME portal by the end of November and a larger farm lending target for 2028. The PMO release we read does not say either, so we have not used them. Reports also differ on the meeting date. The PMO release is dated 14 October 2026.
