Short answer: Open balochistankissan.gob.pk, choose Farmer Registration Status, type your CNIC in the format 12345-1234567-1 and press Search. The page shows whether a record exists. If it does not, register on the same portal, through the Benazir Kissan Card mobile app, or at your district Agriculture (Extension) office.

Every Balochistan farm scheme we have read this month asks the same first question: are you on the Benazir Kissan Card? The pulses seed subsidy asks it. The fertiliser notice asks it. A farmer who finds out at the district counter has already lost a day.

We opened the Agriculture Extension Balochistan portal on 12 October 2026 and read its home page, status page, FAQ and dealer pages. We did not type a CNIC into the status box, because that would query a real farmer's record.

The status page asks for one thing, your CNIC

The Farmer Registration Status page has a single box, "Enter your CNIC to Check Record". It accepts the 13 digits with two hyphens, for example 12345-1234567-1, and returns the result below the box after you press Search.

The page's own script adds hyphens as you type and checks the format when you leave the box. A mistyped digit means you search for someone else's number or for none at all, so check your CNIC twice before you conclude that you are not registered.

Register on the portal, the app or at your district office

The department says farmers can register on the Kissan Balochistan portal, through the Benazir Kissan Card app on Android and iOS, or at the offices of the Deputy Directors Agriculture (Extension) in their districts. You need a CNIC and a mobile number.

The portal's FAQ says anyone involved in farming, livestock or agriculture-related work can register. It also says some programmes may require proof of land ownership or tenancy. It lists these documents as usually needed: CNIC or other valid identification, proof of land ownership or a tenancy agreement, a mobile phone number, and sometimes a passport-size photograph.

Three ways to register on the Benazir Kissan Card in Balochistan and the helpline
  1. Keep your CNIC, your land record or lease and a working mobile number ready.
  2. Open balochistankissan.gob.pk and choose Farmer Registration, or install the Benazir Kissan Card app from the Play Store or App Store.
  3. Fill in your details exactly as they appear on your CNIC.
  4. Submit the form and note the date.
  5. Return to the Registration Status page after a few days and search your CNIC.
  6. If the record does not appear, take your papers to the district Agriculture (Extension) office.

Registration now decides who gets subsidy and who can buy fertiliser

The portal's home page ties registration to two things. The pulses seed subsidy needs it. And in the two districts where a fertiliser ban has been lifted, sales are allowed only to registered farmers, with every transaction logged in the PTTS system.

The home page notice says the fertiliser ban was lifted in Lasbela and Naseerabad. Its condition reads that every transaction must be made through PTTS login only, and sales are only to Benazir Kissan Card registered farmers. The ban remains active in all other districts, the page says. The notice is a PDF scan, which we could not read as text, so treat this as the home page summary and ask the district office for the full order.

The 75 per cent seed offer is explained in our guide on how to apply for certified pulses seed in Balochistan. Wheat growers elsewhere in the country have their own schemes: see the Sindh wheat growers subsidy.

The portal reports 111,255 registered farmers

On 12 October 2026 the portal showed 111,255 registered farmers and a subsidy disbursed figure of 127.569 million. The page does not say which currency or which scheme that figure covers, so we cannot tell you it is rupees.

These counters change as farmers register. We report them as read on the day, nothing more. The number is useful in one way: it shows registration is large enough that your district office will have handled many cases like yours.

If your CNIC is not found or the status is wrong

Re-check the CNIC, then ask the district office to correct the record. If that fails, file a complaint on the portal and follow it on the Track Complaint page, or phone the helpline 0311-1333294. Keep a screenshot of the result and your CNIC copy.

Typical causes are a mistyped CNIC, a name spelled differently from the CNIC, or a form that was never submitted. None of these are listed on the portal as official reasons; they are the checks we would do first. A farmer who registered for a different scheme earlier may also be in another list, so say so at the counter.

The department's postal address is the Directorate General Agriculture Extension, near Sariab Police Station, Sariab Road, Quetta. The email is dgagriextqta@gmail.com.

Dealers have a separate list on the same portal. Our guide on how to check an agricultural dealer's licence explains it.

Common questions

How do I check my Benazir Kissan Card status in Balochistan?

Open balochistankissan.gob.pk, go to Registration Status, enter your CNIC as 12345-1234567-1 and press Search. The result shows below the box.

Is registration free?

The portal and its FAQ state no registration fee. We did not see any charge on the pages we read, but we did not complete a registration.

Which documents do I need to register?

The FAQ lists a CNIC or valid ID, proof of land ownership or a tenancy agreement, a mobile number and sometimes a passport-size photograph.

Can a tenant farmer register?

Yes. The FAQ says some programmes may need proof of land ownership or tenancy, so keep your lease agreement ready.

Who can I call for help?

The helpline shown on the portal is 0311-1333294, and the email is dgagriextqta@gmail.com.

Does registration guarantee a subsidy?

No. It is a condition for schemes such as the pulses seed subsidy, but each scheme has its own rules and an officer's approval.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the home page, Registration Status page, FAQ and dealer page of balochistankissan.gob.pk on 12 October 2026. We did not read the fertiliser ban PDF as text, did not search a CNIC and did not submit a registration. Counters on the home page change daily.
