Check and Cancel Call Forwarding on Your SIM in Pakistan: Dial ##002#

Check if your calls are forwarded with *#21# and cancel all forwarding with ##002# on Jazz, Zong, Telenor or Ufone. Spot the scam code before you dial it.

To cancel every kind of call forwarding on your SIM, dial ##002# and press call. Jazz's own code list gives ##002# as the code to cancel forwarding. To check whether forwarding is on, dial *#21# for all calls and *#67# for calls when you are busy. If a number you do not know shows up, cancel it and change your WhatsApp settings today.

Call forwarding sends your calls to another number. It is useful when you switch phones or travel. It is also a known trick for stealing WhatsApp accounts. A caller talks you into dialling a short code, your calls quietly go to their phone, and the next WhatsApp or bank code sent by voice call rings on their handset, not yours. We read Jazz's dial code list and Apple's iPhone help pages on 9 October 2026 to put the check and the fix in one place.

Dial ##002# to cancel all forwarding

Open your phone's dialler, type ##002#, and press call. It cancels all forwarding on that SIM at once: always, when busy, when unanswered and when unreachable. Jazz lists ##002# as the deactivation code for call forwarding and for its missed call alert.

Dial ##002# to cancel all call forwarding on a SIM in Pakistan

These are standard codes on GSM networks, the type all four Pakistani networks run, so they are not Jazz only. We did not test them on Zong, Telenor or Ufone. If your phone shows an error, call your network's helpline and ask them to remove all call forwarding from your number.

On a dual SIM phone, dial the code from each SIM. Forwarding is set per number, so cancelling it on one SIM leaves the other untouched.

How to check whether your calls are being forwarded

Dial a status code and your network replies on screen. *#21# shows forwarding of all calls. *#67#, *#61# and *#62# show forwarding when you are busy, do not answer or cannot be reached. A number you do not recognise means somebody set it.

CodeWhat it checks or does
*#21#Status of forwarding for all calls
*#67#Status of forwarding when you are busy
*#61#Status of forwarding when you do not answer
*#62#Status of forwarding when you are not reachable
##002#Cancels all forwarding

Jazz's code list uses the same numbers: 61 for no reply, 62 for not reachable and 67 for busy. A screen that says "not forwarded" or "disabled" for each one is what you want.

Some forwarding is legitimate. Missed call alert services work by forwarding your unreachable calls to the network's own number. Jazz's missed call alert, for example, forwards to 0300142. If you see that number and you use the service, it is fine.

Check the phone settings too

On iPhone, go to Settings, then Apps, then Phone, then Call Forwarding. Apple says the switch is green when forwarding is on, and an icon shows in the status bar. On Android, open the Phone app settings and look for Call forwarding under Calls or Supplementary services.

  1. iPhone: Settings, Apps, Phone, Call Forwarding. Turn the switch off if it is green.
  2. On a dual SIM iPhone, pick each line under SIMs and check both.
  3. Android: open the Phone app, tap the three dots, then Settings.
  4. Look for Calls, Supplementary services or Call forwarding. The menu name differs by brand.
  5. Check all four options: always, when busy, when unanswered, when unreachable.
Steps to check call forwarding in iPhone and Android settings

Do the dial code check as well. Forwarding set by a code for busy or unanswered calls may not show on the iPhone switch, which deals with forwarding of all calls. Dialling ##002# covers both.

How the call forwarding scam works

The caller pretends to be a courier, a network or a bank, and asks you to dial a code to "confirm delivery" or "stop a block". The code turns on forwarding to their number. Then they request your WhatsApp code by voice call, keep your line busy, and the call reaches them.

The tell is in the code itself. Codes that set forwarding start with * or ** and end with a phone number and #, such as **21*03XXXXXXXXX# or **67*03XXXXXXXXX#. No courier, bank or network needs you to dial a code with someone's number inside it.

Request you getWhat to do
"Dial this code to receive your parcel"Refuse. Call the courier on its official number
"Your SIM will be blocked, dial this code"Refuse. Call your network's own helpline
"Read me the code we just sent"Never. Hang up
A code with a phone number inside itDo not dial it. Dial ##002# if you already did

Once they have your WhatsApp, they message your contacts asking for money. That is why speed matters. The steps to recover a hacked WhatsApp account start with getting your number back under your control, which is what ##002# does.

Protect your accounts after a forwarding scare

Cancel forwarding, then turn on WhatsApp two-step verification so a code alone cannot move your account. Lock your SIM with a PIN, and report the caller's number to PTA. If money left your account, report it to your bank and the cyber crime agency the same day.

Two-step verification takes a minute, and the steps for two-step verification on WhatsApp, Facebook and Gmail are short. A thief who forwards your calls still cannot open WhatsApp without that PIN.

Report the number that called you. The steps to report a fake call or SMS scam cover PTA's complaint portal and its helpline, 0800-55055. If the scam took money or you are being blackmailed, file with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency as well, using the steps to report a cybercrime in Pakistan.

And tell older relatives. The scam works best on people who trust a confident voice and are less used to dial codes.

Common questions

What is the code to stop call forwarding in Pakistan?

Dial ##002# and press call. It cancels all forwarding on the SIM you dial from. Jazz lists it as its forwarding deactivation code.

How do I know if my calls are forwarded?

Dial *#21#, *#67#, *#61# and *#62#. Each returns the forwarding status for one condition. An unknown number in any reply means forwarding is on.

Does ##002# work on Zong, Telenor and Ufone?

It is a standard GSM code and all four networks run GSM, but we only confirmed it on Jazz's own list. If it fails, call your network's helpline.

Will ##002# stop my missed call alert service?

Yes. Missed call alerts use forwarding, so ##002# switches them off too. Jazz says ##002# cancels its missed call alert.

Can someone forward my calls without my phone?

Normally the code must be dialled from your own SIM, which is why scammers talk you into dialling it. A stolen or swapped SIM is the other route, so block a lost SIM at once.

Is call forwarding charged?

Jazz's code list does not give a price for forwarding. Check with your network, because a forwarded call may be billed to you like an outgoing call.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 9 October 2026. Sources: Jazz's self-service dial code list (call forwarding **62*Number#, cancellation ##002#, missed call alert forwarding codes 61, 62 and 67) and Apple's call forwarding help page. The status codes *#21#, *#61#, *#62# and *#67# are standard GSM codes; we did not run them on each network.
