Check the Paid Stamp on Your K-Electric Bill: Green Means Exact Amount, Blue Means Different
K-Electric stamps bills Paid in green or Payment Received in blue. See what each shows, how many days it takes and what to email if the stamp is missing.

Short answer: K-Electric puts a digital stamp on a bill once your payment reaches its system. A green "Paid" stamp means you paid the exact bill amount. A blue "Payment Received" stamp means the amount you paid was different. The stamp shows the amount, the date and a payment ID, and appears the day after K-Electric hears of the payment.
You paid your K-Electric bill at a shop or in an app. A few days later the bill still looks unpaid, and you wonder if the money went anywhere. The stamp is how K-Electric answers that question.
We read the e-billing and payment stamp sections of K-Electric's FAQ page on 13 October 2026. Everything below about the stamp comes from there. We did not test a payment, so we have not seen a stamp on a live bill.
Two stamps, two colours, two meanings
The colour tells you whether the amount you paid matched the bill. Green is an exact match. Blue is any other amount, higher or lower. Both mean K-Electric has recorded money against that month's bill.
| Stamp | Colour | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Paid | Green | The exact bill amount for the month was paid |
| Payment Received | Blue | Payment came in, but it may differ from the bill amount |

A blue stamp is not an error. K-Electric does not list the reasons, but a part payment, or a payment that included a late payment surcharge, are two ways the amount can differ. The late payment surcharge rules explain why the amount can differ from the bill figure.
The stamp shows four details you can use as proof
K-Electric says each stamp carries four things. Together they work as a receipt. You do not need to keep the paper slip from the shop.
- Status: "Paid" or "Payment Received".
- Amount paid: the exact amount you paid at the payment channel.
- Payment date: the date you paid at that channel.
- Payment ID: the transaction ID, which you can use to trace the payment.
K-Electric says the stamp appears whether you paid at a bank, a post office, a mobile shop or an app. It also appears if you paid late, or through an instalment, scheme, advance or token. Instalment rules are in how to pay an electricity bill in instalments.
How long the stamp takes to show up
Payment platforms usually take 2 to 3 days to pass the payment to K-Electric. After K-Electric confirms it, the stamp is visible from the next day. So a stamp 3 to 4 days after you paid is normal.
- Pay the bill through any channel and keep the transaction ID or slip.
- Wait 3 days, as the payment platform sends the payment to K-Electric.
- Download the e-bill from the KE website, KE WhatsApp, the KE Live app, IVR or SMS.
- Look for the green or blue stamp with the amount, date and payment ID.
- If it is not there after 3 to 4 days, email K-Electric as described below.

The usual places to download a bill are set out in checking a K-Electric bill online.
If the stamp does not appear, use the Cash Missing email
K-Electric asks you to email customer.care@ke.com.pk with the subject "Cash Missing" if the stamp is not on your bill after 3 to 4 days. Put your 13 digit account number, the date, the amount and the payment ID in the email.
There is one case where no stamp will appear. If your bill stayed unpaid for 30 days or more after its issue date, and the next month's bill has already been generated, the stamp will not show against the earlier unpaid bill.
The general steps for a bill that still shows as unpaid are in what to do when a paid bill still shows unpaid. K-Electric's stamp makes that case easier, because you have a payment ID to quote.
Use the stamp as a receipt for a landlord or an office
K-Electric says the stamp lets you keep a record of payments without paper bills or receipts. It also allows a tenant to share proof with the owner.
K-Electric says tenants can add the owner's email as an extra e-bill recipient. Email the company with the subject "REGISTER ADDITIONAL E-BILLING ID". It may take up to 2 days, and later e-bills go to all registered emails. Bill history is kept for 6 months in the app, WhatsApp and website. Older e-bills sit in your inbox, from the sender address K-Electric publishes on its page.
Common questions
Does the stamp appear if I paid after the due date?
Yes. K-Electric says the stamp shows against the month paid, whether the payment came before or after the due date.
What if I paid through Easypaisa or JazzCash?
The stamp still appears once K-Electric receives the payment. K-Electric says e-bill subscribers can pay through wallet apps without a paper bill.
How long are stamped bills kept?
K-Electric says the app, WhatsApp and website keep 6 months of billing history with stamps. Older e-bills stay in your email inbox.
The stamp is blue. Do I still owe money?
Possibly. Blue means the amount paid differs from the bill. Compare the stamp's amount with the bill figure and the surcharge, then ask on 118 if it is unclear.
Is there any case where no stamp will show?
Yes. A bill left unpaid for 30 days or more, after the next bill has been issued, will not get a stamp. K-Electric says the stamp otherwise shows for every tariff and amount.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 13 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the E-Billing and Payment Stamp on E-bills sections of K-Electric's FAQ page. The page is undated. We did not pay a bill to see a stamp, and we did not test the Cash Missing email. The 2 to 3 day delay is K-Electric's figure, not ours.
