Prepare Your FPSC Document Verification: Originals Plus Two Attested Sets
FPSC holds document verification one day before the interview and wants originals plus two attested sets. See the checklist, domicile rule and rejections.

Short answer: If FPSC calls you for physical verification of documents, bring the originals plus two sets of attested photocopies of everything you claimed. That means certificates, CNIC, two photographs, experience certificates and your self-domicile certificate. FPSC holds the verification one day before the interview, and a missing paper is a ground for rejection.
The notice usually arrives as a single page of roll numbers. On 7 October 2026 FPSC published one for 99 Senior Elementary Teacher (Male) BS-16 posts in the Islamabad Model Schools. It says the shortlisted candidates will be called later for physical verification of documents and interview. If your roll number is on a page like that, this is your checklist.
We read the FPSC General Instructions to Candidates, updated 12 August 2026, and the 7 October notice on 12 October 2026. The rules below are from the instructions, which FPSC calls its primary source.
FPSC calls three or five candidates for each post
For BS-16 and BS-17 posts FPSC calls five candidates per post for merit seats, and three per post for provincial or regional quota seats when more than two posts are advertised. The ratio is five per post for BS-18 and BS-19. Senior posts are called differently.
| Scale | Candidates called per post |
|---|---|
| BS-16 and BS-17, merit posts | 5 |
| BS-16 and BS-17, quota posts, more than 2 posts advertised | 3 |
| BS-16 and BS-17, quota posts, 2 posts or fewer | 5 |
| BS-18 and BS-19 | 5 |
| BS-20, other than head of department | 5 |
| BS-20 head of department and BS-21 | All who pass the MCQ test |
The verification is held one day before the interview. Only candidates who passed the test are shortlisted. The interview then picks from the people whose documents are found in order.

Bring the originals and two attested sets of every document
Attested means an officer has signed and stamped the photocopy, with the officer’s name shown. Each set must carry that signature and stamp. FPSC wants two sets, so make two attested photocopies of every paper and keep the original with you.
- Matric and Intermediate certificates, and Bachelor, Master, M.Phil and Ph.D degrees with result cards or DMCs.
- Your computerized national identity card.
- Two photographs.
- Experience certificates on the FPSC prescribed format, where the post requires experience.
- Your self-domicile certificate.
- The original departmental permission certificate, if you are a government servant.
- Copies or details of publications and research papers, where they apply.
- Any extra paper FPSC asks for to support a claim you made.
An experience certificate must show exact dates, whether the job was regular and full time and paid, and the nature of the work. It is signed by an officer senior to the post you applied for, or in a private firm by the CEO, HR director or HR manager, with CNIC number, address and phone number. If you still need one, our guide to getting an experience certificate in Punjab shows how.

Your domicile certificate must be in your own name
FPSC fills quota seats by domicile. It accepts a self-domicile certificate, which means one issued in your own name. A certificate issued in the name of your father or husband is not accepted for quota allocation, and an application without one is rejected.
You also give an undertaking that you hold no other domicile. The domicile you claim, once accepted, is final, and you cannot change it at a later test. Sindh Urban means only the city areas of Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur, including their cantonments. The rest of Sindh counts as Sindh Rural. If you need one, our note on the domicile certificate application covers the steps.
Merit seats are open to everyone, whatever the domicile or gender.
Fourteen grounds can end your candidature
FPSC lists major grounds of rejection. Most come down to a paper you could not show. Check each one against your file the night before.
The list covers missing attested copies, a mismatch between originals and photocopies, being under or over age, and no proof of age. It covers lacking the advertised domicile and no proof of education, or education that is not relevant, or whose result was not announced by the closing date. It covers experience that is missing, too short or not relevant, and a government employee who cannot produce the original permission certificate.

If FPSC rejects you, you can file a representation within 30 days for Rs 500, and our walk-through on how to challenge an FPSC rejection covers the steps. The age rules are in our note on FPSC age relaxation.
Government servants need the original permission certificate
If you already work for the government, you must have your department's permission before you apply. You state the reference number and date in the online form, and at verification you produce the original. Without it, FPSC says it will not issue an admission certificate and may cancel the candidature.
Armed forces personnel, including those on leave preparatory to retirement, need permission from their Services Headquarters and the Ministry of Defence. If you left government service, bring proof from your last employer that your resignation or termination was accepted. If you joined government after you applied, tell FPSC at once.
