Short answer: A Punjab e-Khidmat Markaz lists a police verification certificate at Rs 300, paid in cash, delivered within 18 working days. You need your CNIC and one passport size photo. The certificate is issued by the relevant Punjab Police, not by the Markaz.

Employers, schools and some visa files ask for a police verification certificate. It confirms that police checked your record. Many people lose a week searching for the right office.

We read the police verification certificate page of the Punjab e-Khidmat service on 14 October 2026. It is short and clear on the fee, the papers and the delivery time. It is silent on a few points, and we list those.

The fee is Rs 300 and delivery is within 18 working days

The page lists a service fee of PKR 300 and says the certificate will be delivered within 18 working days. Payment must be cash in Pakistan rupees. The relevant Punjab Police issues the certificate, not the Markaz.

Eighteen working days is more than three weeks on the calendar. Apply early if a job offer or an admission date depends on it. Count from the day you pay, and keep the receipt.

Steps to get a police verification certificate at a Punjab e-Khidmat Markaz

You need only your CNIC and one passport size photo

The page lists two papers: a passport size photograph and your CNIC. That is a short list compared with other services. Carry the original CNIC and a photocopy of both sides, in case the counter asks.

  1. Take one recent passport size photograph.
  2. Take your original CNIC.
  3. Take a photocopy of the front and back of the CNIC, as a precaution.
  4. Go to the Markaz between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Saturday.
  5. Pay Rs 300 in cash and keep the receipt.

Know which police document you actually need

Three similar documents are in use: a verification certificate, a character certificate and a tenant verification. They are not the same paper. Ask the office that wants it which one it accepts before you pay.

The page does not say how long the certificate stays valid

The e-Khidmat page gives no validity period and no list of uses. The office that asks for the certificate usually sets its own limit. Many ask for one issued in the last three to six months, so ask before you apply.

We do not state a validity period because we could not read one on the official page. If you need the certificate for a job abroad, check with the embassy or the employer. Some embassies ask for a different form.

Do not use an unofficial agent who promises a faster certificate for a larger fee. The page lists Rs 300 and 18 working days. Anything else is outside the listed service.

Find a Markaz and check its hours first

Punjab has 15 e-Khidmat centres. The police verification desk follows the usual hours, Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm, with a lunch break from 1 pm to 2 pm and a Friday break from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

Our Punjab e-Khidmat Markaz centre list gives the locations. Punjab Police also run their own service centres, covered in the police Khidmat Markaz report.

Avoid fake agents and unofficial websites

Official fees are paid at the Markaz counter, in cash, in rupees. The page names no agent, no website payment and no courier fee. If anyone asks for more, or for an advance by mobile wallet, walk away.

Scammers target people who need a certificate in a hurry. They promise a certificate in two days for several thousand rupees. The page lists 18 working days, so a two day promise is outside the listed service.

Apply only for the certificate type your employer or school names. A wrong type means a second fee and a second wait of 18 working days, which is the most common and most avoidable loss.

If you need to report a fraud, keep the chat or receipt and report it to the Punjab Police or the FIA. Do not send your CNIC picture to a stranger, because it can be used to open a SIM or an account in your name.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 14 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the police verification certificate page of the Punjab e-Khidmat service on ekhidmat.punjab.gov.pk. We did not visit a Markaz. The page gives no validity period, no purpose and no online route, so we state none. Confirm the fee and the delivery time at the counter.
