JPMC Karachi OPD Timings and Clinic Days: Monday to Saturday, 8am to 1pm

Short answer: Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in Karachi runs its outpatient clinics from Monday to Saturday, 8am to 1pm, and its Accident and Emergency and Gynaecology Emergency are open round the clock, every day. Each unit sees outpatients on set days, so check the day before you travel. The hospital's number is +92-21-99201300.

A family from Thatta takes the early bus to Karachi for a kidney clinic. They reach JPMC at noon. The clinic does not sit on that day. They lose a day and the fare. This guide is to stop that from happening to you.

We opened the JPMC home page and its OPD Schedule page on 12 October 2026, at jpmc.edu.pk. The schedule is a table of 38 rows, issued by the hospital's Medical Record Statistics Section. It does not state a registration fee, an emergency phone number or whether Sehat Card is accepted, so this guide does not either.

OPD runs Monday to Saturday from 8am to 1pm

The JPMC home page gives outpatient hours as Monday to Saturday, 8am to 1pm. Every row in the schedule shows the same 8am to 1pm slot. No outpatient clinic is listed for Sunday. Emergency is the only service the schedule shows as open every day.

Come early. Clinics close at 1pm by the published timetable, and we do not know how long registration takes, because JPMC does not say. The registration step and any fee are not described on the pages we read.

Six clinics run every day from Monday to Saturday

Ophthalmology (eye), ENT, urology, physiotherapy, dental and the Federal Government Employees Clinic are listed for Monday to Saturday. If you need one of these, any weekday morning works. Most other clinics sit on two or three fixed days.

Neurosurgery sees outpatients on five days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Nephrology (kidney) sits on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Other clinics sit on fixed days of the week

Outpatient days differ by unit and ward. Surgery, medicine, gynaecology and orthopaedics each have several units, and each unit sits on its own day. Find your unit's ward number on your referral or ask the registration desk.

Medicine, heart, chest, skin and mind clinics

The medicine wards each take one day. Toxicology sits on Monday, endocrine, diabetes and rheumatology in Ward 6 on Tuesday, hepatology and gastroenterology on Wednesday, and critical care on Thursday. Smaller specialist clinics run two or three days a week.

The schedule also lists an endocrine clinic on Tuesday and Thursday, a diabetic clinic on Monday and Thursday, and a rheumatology clinic on Monday and Wednesday, all in Ward 6. A gastroenterology clinic in Ward 25-A sits on Wednesday and Saturday, and oral and maxillofacial surgery on Thursday.

For emergencies, go to Accident and Emergency, not the OPD

JPMC lists Accident and Emergency as open round the clock, seven days a week, with a separate Gynaecology and Obstetrics Emergency. If you cannot reach it yourself, a free ambulance is described in calling a 1122 ambulance in Sindh.

3. Reach the hospital by 8am, with your CNIC, old reports and any referral letter.
4. Ask at registration what the fee is, because JPMC does not publish one.
