Edenrobe had the widest boys' formal range on 5 November: 39 kurta shalwar from Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000, 22 waistcoat suits from Rs 9,000 to Rs 14,000 and five sherwani suits from Rs 17,000 to Rs 20,000. Maria B's boys' waistcoats cost Rs 9,990 and Rs 10,990.

Edenrobe lists its boys' pieces as "suits", so the waistcoat suit comes with the kurta and shalwar. The Maria B waistcoat is sold on its own. Pair it with a plain kurta shalwar the child already owns, and you have a barat look for about Rs 10,000.

Girls' wedding outfit prices in November 2026

Girls' formals start lower than most parents expect. Bonanza Satrangi had net 3 piece suits from Rs 5,192 on sale, Limelight a raw silk 2 piece at Rs 6,783, and Edenrobe lehenga and silk suits at Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000. Maria B's velvet, net and raw silk suits run from Rs 10,792 to Rs 18,990.

For everyday winter, Limelight's girls' khaddar 2 piece pret sat at Rs 2,799 to Rs 3,009 on sale, and its embroidered velour co-ord at Rs 2,799. These are not wedding pieces, but they work for a dholki or a family dinner.

Kids' wedding outfits on three budgets

Under Rs 7,000 buys a boy's embroidered kurta shalwar or a girl's net or raw silk suit on sale. Rs 9,000 to Rs 14,000 buys a waistcoat suit or a velvet suit. Above Rs 15,000 buys a boys' sherwani suit or a Maria B formal.

For a child under five, the lower budget is usually the better choice. Small children spill, sit on the floor and fall asleep in their clothes. Save the bigger spend for an older child who will wear it carefully, or for the sibling who is in the wedding photos.

One outfit for mehndi, barat and walima

Most families do not need three outfits per child. Buy one formal piece for the barat, then change the top layer: a coloured dupatta or waistcoat for the mehndi, and a shawl or plain sweater for an evening walima in the cold. That covers all three events for one price.

1. Pick the barat outfit first. It is the one in the most photos.
2. Choose a neutral base. Off white, beige or gold lets you swap the colour on top.
3. Add colour for the mehndi. A yellow, green or orange dupatta for a girl, or a coloured waistcoat for a boy.
