Ex-dividend shares explain part of the fall
26 of the 100 shares carried an XD tag, meaning they now trade without their latest dividend. Together they weigh 31.05 per cent of the index and took 469.63 points off it. Some of that drop is the dividend leaving the price, not a loss of value.
Hub Power, Pakistan Petroleum and Oil and Gas Development Company were among the ex-dividend shares that fell. The portal does not show the dividend amount next to each tag, so we cannot say how much of each fall was the payout. If a dividend you are owed does not arrive, the steps are in claiming a missing PSX dividend.

If you hold shares and want to check your own positions before Monday's session, these steps use only free PSX pages:
- Open the KSE-100 page on the PSX data portal and sort by index points to see what moved the index.
- Search each share you own and compare the close with your buying price.
- Check the company's announcements for any dividend, bonus or result that explains an XD tag or a big move.
- Look at the circuit breaker page for shares that hit their daily limit.
- Decide calmly. A two day fall is not a reason on its own to sell a long term holding.
The screens behind each step are explained in checking which shares moved the KSE-100 and in checking which shares hit the upper or lower limit.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the PSX data portal home page (stamped as of 23 October 2026, 4:50 PM), its KSE-100 constituents table and its circuit breaker page on 24 October 2026. We parsed all 100 rows of the constituents table to count rises and falls and add up index points. Closes for 16, 19 and 22 October are from our earlier reports, which read the same portal. The weekly change, bank total and percentages are our own arithmetic. We could not find any official reason for the fall, and the portal does not show dividend amounts for XD shares.
