LESCO e-Bill Registration: Get Your Electricity Bill on WhatsApp, Email or SMS, and What LESCO Says About the Start Date
Register for LESCO's free e-Bill with your 14-digit reference number and 7-digit customer ID to get bills on WhatsApp or email. Delivery starts later.

You can register for LESCO's e-Bill on lesco.gov.pk to get your electricity bill by WhatsApp, email or SMS, free. You need two numbers from your paper bill: the 14-digit reference number and the 7-digit customer ID. LESCO's form takes up to two WhatsApp numbers and one email. But LESCO's own note says e-Bills will start arriving "after some time", so keep the paper bill or the LESCO Light app until the first one comes.
We opened both LESCO registration forms on 5 November 2026 and read every field and note. Below: the two forms and which to use, the steps, what LESCO says about when bills start, and how to get this month's bill today without waiting.
LESCO has two forms, and the newer one adds WhatsApp
The LESCO website has an older "SMS Service Registration" form and a newer "Subscribe for E-Billing" form. They do different jobs, and it is easy to fill in the wrong one.
| Form on lesco.gov.pk | What it asks for | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Subscribe for E-Billing | Reference number, customer ID, email, SMS number, up to 2 WhatsApp numbers | The bill itself by email, SMS or WhatsApp, once LESCO starts sending |
| SMS Service Registration | 7-digit customer ID and mobile number | Free SMS alerts on supply and billing |
The older SMS form also offers "Email only" or "Both", but its own note says the email service "is yet to be started". For an email or WhatsApp bill, use the newer E-Billing form.

Find the two numbers on your LESCO bill
Both numbers are on the top part of every LESCO bill. Have the latest bill in front of you before you open the form.
- Reference number: 14 digits, printed at the top left of the bill. LESCO's form says so in its help text.
- Customer ID: 7 digits, printed on the bill as Customer ID or Consumer ID. Enter it without spaces.
The E-Billing form asks for both. The SMS form asks only for the customer ID and the mobile number.
Register for a WhatsApp or email bill in six steps
The E-Billing form first looks up your connection, then shows what is already on record, then lets you add or change details.
- Open lesco.gov.pk and go to the "Subscribe for E-Billing" page, linked from the e-billing button on the home page.
- Enter the 14-digit reference number and the 7-digit customer ID, type the captcha, and submit.
- The form shows the name, email, SMS number and WhatsApp numbers already on record. A new connection shows "e-Bill Registration not found".
- Under "Please provide e-Bill registration details for addition or update", add your email, SMS number, primary WhatsApp number and, if you want, a second WhatsApp number.
- Tick "Also receive notifications by SMS" if you want alerts as well.
- Tick the consent box, which says you agree to get your bill "through electronic media such as via Email, SMS, WhatsApp", type the captcha and submit.
Use numbers in the format the form accepts. The older SMS form asks for the country code first, as in 92333 followed by the rest of the number, up to 12 digits. If the form says "Not a valid mobile number", try that format.

LESCO says e-Bills will start after some time
This is the part most people miss. The note under the E-Billing form says: "Currently the registration for electronic billing (E-Billing) has been initiated. However customers will start receiving E-Bills after some time." No start date is given.
So registering now puts your details on record, but it may not bring this month's bill to your phone. Keep paying from the paper bill or online until an e-Bill actually arrives. A missed due date adds a late payment surcharge, which is about 8 per cent on a home bill, whatever the reason.
The same note points to LESCO's "LESCO Light" mobile app, where customers "can access their electricity bills". That is the route LESCO itself offers while e-Bills are not yet flowing.
Get this month's LESCO bill today without waiting
You do not need e-Bill registration to see or pay your current bill. These routes work now with only the reference number.
| Route | What you need |
|---|---|
| LESCO website "Customer Bill" page | 14-digit reference number |
| LESCO Light app | Reference number, as LESCO's note says |
| Bank app or mobile wallet bill payment | Reference number under electricity, LESCO |
| Duplicate bill print | Reference number, from the bill page |
Our guides to checking a LESCO bill online and getting a duplicate electricity bill cover each one. To change the mobile number that gets LESCO's SMS, see our guide to changing the mobile number on an electricity bill. To put your CNIC on the connection, see registering your CNIC with LESCO.
Common questions
Can I get my LESCO bill on WhatsApp?
You can register a WhatsApp number on LESCO's E-Billing form, but LESCO says e-Bills will start "after some time", with no date given.
What is the LESCO customer ID?
A 7-digit number printed on your bill, separate from the 14-digit reference number. LESCO's SMS form asks for it without spaces.
Is LESCO e-Bill registration free?
Yes. Neither form asks for any fee, and LESCO calls its SMS service free of cost.
Can I add two WhatsApp numbers?
Yes. The E-Billing form has a primary and a secondary WhatsApp number field.
Does LESCO send bills by email now?
Not yet, as far as LESCO's own notes say. The older form says email "is yet to be started" and the newer one says e-Bills start later.
How do I see my bill until the e-Bill starts?
Use the LESCO website bill page or the LESCO Light app with your 14-digit reference number.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 5 November 2026. We read the LESCO Subscribe for E-Billing form and the LESCO SMS Service Registration form, including all field labels and notes. We did not submit a registration, so we have not confirmed that a WhatsApp bill arrives or how long it takes. The late surcharge figure is from our own test of LESCO's bill estimator.
