We read the credit card section of MCB's July to December 2026 schedule and its Classic, Gold and Platinum card pages on 28 October 2026. Below is every fee, the instalment and balance transfer rates, the card limits for each level, and what a missed payment costs in rupees.
MCB credit card annual fees are Rs 7,000, Rs 14,000 and Rs 22,000
MCB charges a yearly fee of Rs 7,000, Rs 14,000 or Rs 22,000 on its Visa credit cards. MCB sells Classic, Gold and Platinum cards, and we read the three columns in that order. Supplementary cards cost Rs 3,500, Rs 7,000 and Rs 11,000.
| MCB card level | Basic card a year | Supplementary card a year | Replacement | Credit limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | Rs 7,000 | Rs 3,500 | Rs 1,200 | Rs 25,000 to Rs 149,000 |
| Gold | Rs 14,000 | Rs 7,000 | Rs 1,200 | Rs 150,000 to Rs 499,000 |
| Platinum | Rs 22,000 | Rs 11,000 | Rs 2,400 | Rs 500,000 to Rs 50,000,000 |
The schedule's fee table does not print the card names above its three columns. The replacement row does name them, though: Rs 1,200 for Gold and Classic and Rs 2,400 for Platinum. The credit limits come from MCB's Roshan Digital credit card page, which lists the limit range for each level.
MCB's Roshan Digital credit card page offers a first year waiver of the annual chip fee, and a waiver in later years based on spending. Ask whether a similar spending waiver applies to your card before the renewal month. The full market is compared under credit card fees in Pakistan.

Unpaid MCB balances cost 3.67% a month, an APR of 44%
If the full MCB bill is not paid by the due date, retail spending is charged 3.67% a month, an APR of 44%. Cash advances carry the same rate from the day you take the cash. Instalment plans cost 3.25% a month, and the I-Switch balance transfer 2.25%.
| MCB borrowing type | Monthly rate | APR | Processing fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Retail balance not paid in full | 3.67% | 44% | None |
| Cash advance at an ATM or MCB Live Quick Cash | 3.67%, daily from the transaction | 44% | Rs 1,200 or 3%, whichever is higher |
| Cash advance with instalments | 3.25% | 39% | Rs 1,200 or 3% |
| I-Plan instalments on purchases | 3.25% | 39% | Rs 1,200 or 3% |
| I-Switch balance transfer with instalments | 2.25% | 27% | Rs 1,200 or 3% |
| Balance transfer without instalments, MCB Live | 3.67% if unpaid by the due date | 44% | Rs 370 or 3% |
Paying an instalment plan off early costs Rs 1,200 or 6% of the remaining instalments, whichever is higher. The card pages say purchases of Rs 25,000 or more can be turned into instalments over 3 to 36 months. Other banks' plans are compared under credit card instalment plans.

A late MCB payment costs Rs 2,500
MCB charges Rs 2,500 if the minimum payment is not received by the due date, and Rs 1,500 each time you go over your limit. A returned cheque costs Rs 800. Foreign transactions cost 4% or Rs 100, whichever is higher.
| MCB credit card charge | Amount |
|---|---|
| Late payment fee | Rs 2,500 |
| Excess over limit, per instance | Rs 1,500 |
| Cheque return | Rs 800 |
| Foreign transaction | 4% or Rs 100, whichever is higher |
| Utility, telecom and other bill payment by card | 1.5% or Rs 10, whichever is higher |
| Priority Pass lounge visit | US$ 35 per visit |
| Disputed transaction arbitration | US$ 600 or equivalent |
| Credit Security cover | 0.70% of the total outstanding |
Here is a missed payment in rupees, using our own sums. With Rs 60,000 unpaid and the minimum missed, you pay the Rs 2,500 late fee plus about Rs 2,202 in markup for the month at 3.67%. That is about Rs 4,700, before tax, for one late month.
The bill payment fee is easy to overlook. A Rs 8,000 electricity bill paid with an MCB credit card costs Rs 120 extra at 1.5%. Paying the same bill from your bank account or debit card costs nothing.

MCB card insurance add-ons cost Rs 75 to Rs 600 a month
MCB sells optional insurance with its credit cards. I-insure costs Rs 200, Rs 300 or Rs 600 a month for term life cover of Rs 1.5 million, Rs 2.55 million or Rs 5 million. Wallet Protection costs Rs 75 a month for cover of Rs 50,000.
These are optional, and you enrol through MCB's contact centre. Check your statement for any you did not ask for. Rs 600 a month comes to Rs 7,200 a year, which is more than a Classic card's annual fee. That is our arithmetic from the schedule.
Some cover comes with the card at no extra charge. MCB's card pages list travel cover of up to Rs 100,000 each for flight delays over 6 hours, baggage loss and baggage delay. Platinum holders also get lounge access in Pakistan for a nominal PKR 1 a visit.
Keep MCB card costs close to the annual fee
The cheapest way to hold an MCB credit card is to pay the full statement balance by the due date, every month. MCB's card page offers up to 52 days of free credit on retail purchases. Interest and late fees apply only when you miss that.
- Note your statement date and due date from your first MCB statement.
- Pay the full balance through MCB Live before the due date.
- If you cannot pay in full, pay at least the minimum, which MCB puts as low as 5% of the outstanding.
- Avoid cash advances: Rs 1,200 or 3% plus 3.67% a month from day one.
- Pay utility bills from your account, not the card, to skip the 1.5% fee.
Your rights on statements and due dates are set by SBP, and they are explained under credit card due dates and statement rights. If you do not use the app yet, the MCB Live registration takes a few minutes.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read section F, "MCB Visa Credit Card", of MCB's July to December 2026 schedule of bank charges on 28 October 2026. We also read the Classic/Gold, Platinum and Roshan Digital credit card pages on MCB's credit card section. The schedule does not label its three annual fee columns, so the Classic, Gold and Platinum order is our reading, based on the replacement fee row and MCB's card range. Rupee examples are our arithmetic, and taxes apply on top.
