MEPCO's shutdown schedule for October and November 2026 is on mepco.com.pk/electricity-shutdown, as 17 scanned notices for Multan, Bahawalpur, Sadiqabad, Vehari, DG Khan, Sahiwal, Khanewal and other areas. Each notice names the grid station, the 11 kV feeders, the dates and the hours of the cut. Find your feeder name on your bill and look for it in the notice for your area.

We read MEPCO's shutdown page on 24 October 2026 and opened the notices for Multan's Lar grid, Bahawalpur and Sadiqabad in full. These are planned shutdowns: cuts Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) schedules so it can put up poles, string new lines or move wires for road works. They are separate from daily load shedding. Below are the dates already set, how to read a notice and what to do if your area is cut outside them.

MEPCO lists 17 shutdown notices for October and November

MEPCO's Electricity Shutdown page carries one link per notice, each titled with the grid or division and the dates. On 24 October, 17 notices covered October 2026, and most also ran into November. Older September notices sit further down the same page.

The table groups a few notices that share an area. Titles are shortened from MEPCO's own wording. One title, for 132 KV Lar, gives its dates as "15-10-2026 to 14-10-2026", which looks like a typing error on MEPCO's page.

The dates set for Multan, Bahawalpur and Sadiqabad

Three notices we read give exact days and hours. Lar grid in Multan has five days from 26 October, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Bahawalpur's seven city feeders have cuts most days until 14 November. Sadiqabad's Old Manthar feeder runs to 31 October.

The Sadiqabad notice also lists 15 nearby feeders under "safety purpose", including Johar Town, Model Town, Nishtar, Ajmal Bagh, City-I and Express-1. If you are on one of those, expect your supply to be affected on the same days. The Bahawalpur notice covers both its Satluj and Shahdrah sub divisions under Model Town division.

Reading a MEPCO notice takes five steps

Each notice is a one page scan with a table: division, sub division, grid station, 11 kV feeder name, feeder code, dates and timings. Match your feeder name or code from the bill to a row, then read across. Dates are written day, month, year, such as 26.10.26.

  1. Find your feeder name on your MEPCO bill. Print a free duplicate through MEPCO bill check online if you have no paper copy.
  2. Open mepco.com.pk/electricity-shutdown.
  3. Tap the notice whose title names your grid, city or division. It opens as a PDF.
  4. Zoom in on the table and look for your feeder name or code, including the "safety purpose" column if there is one.
  5. Note every date and the start and end time. Times are written in 24 hour form, such as 0830 to 1230.

The notices are scans, so your phone's search cannot find text in them. Read the table by eye, and zoom to check the dates, because handwritten corrections sometimes appear.

MEPCO says it warns people before each shutdown

Each notice orders publication in newspapers, announcements from mosque loudspeakers and SMS to consumers in the affected areas. It also asks staff to load the shutdown onto PITC's Roshan Pakistan app. So a warning should reach you before the day, not only on the website.

The notices also direct that supply be restored on time: "It must be ensured that the timings of the shutdown are observed strictly." If your power is still off well after the end time, that is a fault, not part of the plan. Call MEPCO, give the feeder name and the notice date, and ask for a complaint number.

Load shedding continues alongside these cuts. Each notice asks grid staff to follow "the revised load shedding schedule" from MEPCO headquarters during the shutdown period, so you may also see your usual load shedding hours shift on those days.

Steps to find your feeder in a MEPCO shutdown notice

When the cut runs past the notice

MEPCO's Complaint Cell link goes to the shared PITC complaint system used by the government power companies. If power stays off beyond the notice hours, complain with your reference number, feeder name and the notice date, then escalate to NEPRA if nothing happens.

  • Use the Complaint Cell link on mepco.com.pk, which goes to PITC's complaint system, or the helpline MEPCO publishes on its site.
  • Give the 14 digit reference number, the feeder name and the time power should have returned.
  • Keep the complaint number. NEPRA expects you to have complained to MEPCO first.
  • Read whether your load shedding is legal if cuts keep happening outside notices and schedules.

A long morning cut is hard on water pumps and cold stores. Fill tanks the evening before each listed date, and keep a UPS or a home generator run safely for anything that cannot wait four or five hours.

Common questions

Where is the MEPCO shutdown schedule?

On mepco.com.pk under Customer Care, Electricity Shutdown. Each notice is a PDF named after its grid or division.

What are the Lar grid shutdown dates in Multan?

26 October and 2, 4, 5 and 9 November 2026, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, on the Lar City and Air University feeders.

When is the Bahawalpur shutdown?

Most days from 17 October to 14 November 2026, 7 am to 12 noon, with shorter 7 am to 10 am cuts on 23 and 30 October and 6 and 13 November.

Is a planned shutdown the same as load shedding?

No. A shutdown is planned for repair or construction work on set dates. Load shedding is a daily rota caused by power shortage.

Will MEPCO send an SMS before a shutdown?

The notices direct MEPCO's IT cell to send SMS to consumers in affected areas, but we could not confirm that the messages go out.

Why can't I search the MEPCO notice for my feeder?

The notices are scanned images, so phone search finds no text. Zoom in and read the feeder column by eye.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 24 October 2026. We read the MEPCO Electricity Shutdown page and its list of notice titles, then opened three notices as images: 132 KV Lar, dated 22 October 2026, 132 KV Bahawalpur dated 16 October 2026, and 132 KV Sadiqabad dated 16 October 2026. Dates, hours, feeders, reasons and the warning instructions come from those notices. We did not open the other 14 notices in full, so their feeders and hours are not listed here. We left out the names and mobile numbers of the safety supervisors that the notices print.
