To renew or apply for a NICOP or CNIC in Kuwait, go to the Pakistan Embassy in Jabriya between 8 am and 1 pm, Sunday to Thursday, with your card, passport and Kuwaiti civil ID, and a debit or credit card to pay NADRA's fee. The embassy adds its own service charge on top. You can also apply online, and the two routes, the papers and the help numbers are below.

We read the NADRA documents page of the Embassy of Pakistan in Kuwait, its consular timings, contact and FAQ pages, on 31 October 2026. The documents page is written in Urdu, so we have translated its lists into plain English here.

The Kuwait embassy takes NADRA applications from 8 am to 1 pm

The embassy's NADRA note gives 8:00 am to 1:00 pm as the time to submit applications. Its consular timings page lists Sunday to Thursday as working days, with Friday and Saturday off. Documents are delivered from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.

Bring a card that works for online payments. The embassy says the applicant must have a credit or debit card to pay NADRA's fee, and service charges apply in addition. Cash is not mentioned as an option. The page does not give the amount of either charge.

Adults and children over 5 bring five sets of papers

For anyone over 5, the embassy asks for your original CNIC or NICOP, passport and Kuwaiti civil ID, your parents' cards or their computerised death certificates, two siblings' cards, your spouse's card with a computerised nikah nama, and cards of two Pakistani witnesses with phone numbers.

  1. Your original CNIC or NICOP, Pakistani passport and Kuwaiti civil ID.
  2. Your father's and mother's CNIC, or a computerised death certificate for a parent who has died.
  3. Copies of the CNIC of any two of your brothers or sisters.
  4. Your husband's or wife's CNIC and a copy of the computerised nikah nama, if married.
  5. CNIC copies of two Pakistani witnesses, with their phone numbers.

The word "computerised" matters twice in that list. A handwritten nikah nama or a manual death certificate from a union council will not do. If yours is old, get the computerised version from the union council in Pakistan first.

A newborn needs a birth certificate, a photo and two witnesses

For a newborn, the embassy asks for the original birth certificate, a fresh photo on a white background with the head uncovered, copies of both parents' CNICs, and CNIC copies of two Pakistani witnesses with their phone numbers. Both parents' records must already be correct.

The photo rule is the one that sends people home. White background, no cap or scarf over the head, and a recent picture.

If the child was born in Kuwait, the birth must also be registered with the Pakistani mission. The six month window for that is explained in registering a child born abroad with a Pakistani mission.

You can apply online instead and skip the queue

The embassy's FAQ says a new CNIC can be made either online through NADRA's portal or by attending the embassy. The online route uses the Pak ID app or id.nadra.gov.pk, and the fee is paid by card. Fingerprints are taken on the phone camera.

Online makes sense for a plain renewal with no changes. The embassy route makes sense when the app rejects your fingerprints or documents, or when you need a change that has to be checked in person. The online steps and dollar fees are in applying for or renewing a NICOP on Pak ID.

Plan the timing around travel. An expired NICOP can stop you boarding a flight home, which we covered in the boarding rule for expired NICOPs.

Call extension 821 or the NADRA WhatsApp line with questions

The embassy lists its NADRA help desk on +965 25327649, extension 821, and a NADRA CNIC information line on WhatsApp at +92 321 0785558. The main exchange is +965 25327649, and the emergency hotline is +965 55977292.

Never send your card photos or passport scans to a number that is not on the embassy's own page. Agents who promise a faster NICOP for a fee are not part of the process. Passport work at the same embassy is a separate counter, and the Gulf passport fees we have checked include the passport fee in Saudi Arabia for comparison.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 31 October 2026. The document lists, application hours, card payment rule and NADRA numbers come from the Embassy of Pakistan Kuwait's NADRA documents page on mofa.gov.pk, written in Urdu and translated by us. Working days and delivery hours come from its consular timings page, the address and extensions from its contact page, and the online option from its FAQ page, all read on 31 October 2026. We could not read NADRA's website, which refuses automated requests, so we could not confirm the dollar fee. The embassy does not publish the amount of its service charge.
