Pakistan beat England by one wicket in Lahore on 25 October 2026 as Shadab Khan hit 113 not out. See the scorecard, the points table and who Pakistan may face.

Pakistan beat England by one wicket at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Sunday 25 October 2026, chasing 242 and finishing on 243 for 9 in 47.1 overs. Shadab Khan made 113 not out off 96 balls from No. 8, and the win put Pakistan into the tri-series final on Saturday 31 October.
Pakistan were 154 for 9 after 33.5 overs and still needed 88 runs. Shadab and Haris Rauf then added 89 for the last wicket without being parted. Below are the scorecard highlights, the points table after four matches, and what each result left for Sri Lanka and England. The PCB website blocked our tools, so every figure here is as reported in published match reports, which we read on 26 October 2026.
Pakistan won by one wicket with 17 balls to spare
England made 241 all out in 46.4 overs after choosing to bat first, and Pakistan reached 243 for 9 in 47.1 overs. By our count that left 17 balls unused. The winning runs were a straight four by Haris Rauf off debutant Henry Crocombe.

| Innings | Score | Top scorer | Bowler of note |
|---|---|---|---|
| England | 241 all out, 46.4 overs | Ben Duckett 105 off 111 | Shaheen Shah Afridi 4 for 46 |
| Pakistan | 243 for 9, 47.1 overs | Shadab Khan 113 not out off 96 | Liam Dawson, at least 2 wickets |
The match was Pakistan's pink day, played in the special jersey the board announced for the game. Our report on Pakistan's pink jersey against England has the background. Reports describe a sparse crowd for a Sunday fixture.
Shadab Khan scored 113 not out from No. 8
Shadab walked in at 103 for 5 and finished unbeaten on 113 off 96 balls, with 13 fours and 5 sixes. He reached 50 off 49 balls and 100 off 91. Reports say he is only the third batter to make an ODI hundred at No. 8 or lower.
His boundaries were worth 82 runs, so he ran 31. That is a strike rate of 117.7, our own sum. He also protected Haris Rauf by turning down singles, and Haris faced 18 balls for 3 runs before he hit the winning four.
The turning point came with 27 still needed. Gus Atkinson won an lbw decision against Shadab, who reviewed it. UltraEdge showed a spike as the ball passed the bat, the decision was reversed, and Shadab brought up his hundred two balls later. One wrong call there and England would have won.

The 89 run stand between Shadab and Haris is reported as the highest 10th wicket partnership in a successful ODI chase. The previous best was 64. It is the kind of record that rarely gets broken, because a team nine down usually loses.
Pakistan's top order collapsed before Shadab came in
Pakistan lost Fakhar Zaman for 10, Saim Ayub for 6 and Babar Azam for 10 inside seven overs. Saad Baig hit 32 off 22 balls with seven fours, then fell at 74 for 4. Hasan Nawaz made 15 and Arafat Minhas 1.
Salman Ali Agha made 26 off 49 balls and was out at 121 for 6. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Razaullah, on debut, also fell, leaving 154 for 9. Razaullah hit a six before Will Jacks bowled him with a ball that turned sharply.
That collapse matters for the final. Pakistan's openers have struggled all series, and the board changed the squad the next day. Saim Ayub was released and Sahibzada Farhan added, as the board confirmed on Monday.
Ben Duckett's 105 kept England in the match
England were 19 for 3 inside five overs and 52 for 4 in the 10th. Duckett made 105 off 111 balls, his fifth ODI hundred and his first against Pakistan, with 10 fours and 2 sixes. Sam Curran added 42 off 52 in a stand of 93.
Shaheen took 4 for 46. He removed Tom Banton for 4, saw Harry Brook run out for 1, and later dismissed Curran and Crocombe. Joe Root made 5. Razaullah took 2 for 38 on debut, and Arafat Minhas dismissed Duckett and Jamie Overton. Atkinson's 36 not out off 28 lifted England past 240.
Compare this with the first meeting. In Rawalpindi on 20 October, Pakistan beat England by 87 runs with Arafat Minhas taking six wickets. The Lahore pitch helped the fast bowlers more.
Pakistan lead the points table with 6 points and are in the final
Pakistan have won all three of their matches, so they have 6 points and a place in the 31 October final. Sri Lanka have 2 points from two games. England have lost all three and have 0 points, with one game left.

| Team | Played | Won | Lost | Points | Left to play |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pakistan | 3 | 3 | 0 | 6 | Sri Lanka, 27 October |
| Sri Lanka | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | Pakistan 27 October, England 29 October |
| England | 3 | 0 | 3 | 0 | Sri Lanka, 29 October |
The table is our own count from the four results, at 2 points a win. We did not recompute net run rate after this match. The earlier figures are in the points table after 22 October.
Sri Lanka need one more win to face Pakistan in the final
Sri Lanka reach the final if they beat Pakistan on Tuesday 27 October or England on Thursday 29 October. Either win takes them to 4 points, which England cannot reach. England go through only if Sri Lanka lose both games and England then win the tie-break.
- Sri Lanka beat Pakistan on 27 October: Sri Lanka are in the final.
- Pakistan win on 27 October, Sri Lanka beat England on 29 October: Sri Lanka are in the final.
- Pakistan win on 27 October, England beat Sri Lanka on 29 October: both have 2 points, and the tie-break decides.
We expect the tie-break to be net run rate, but we could not read the PCB's playing conditions to confirm the order. Our explainer on how net run rate works shows why a big win counts for more than a narrow one.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read two published match reports of Pakistan v England on 26 October 2026 for the scores, figures and the review decision, and a squad report the same day for the debut details. The Pakistan Cricket Board's website (pcb.com.pk) refused our tools behind a security check, and its match centre loads its scorecards only in a full browser, so we could not read its official scorecard and every number above is reported. The points table, the 17 balls to spare, Shadab's 82 runs in boundaries and his strike rate are our own sums. Start time, ticket prices and channels come from the board's earlier releases as recorded in our linked reports. We could not confirm the tri-series tie-break order or the updated net run rates.
