Sending a 1 kg parcel abroad by Pakistan Post costs Rs 2,500 to the UAE, Rs 2,700 to Saudi Arabia, Rs 7,300 to the UK and Rs 7,500 to the USA, with each extra kilogram charged separately. These are Pakistan Post's international parcel rates in force from 12 March 2026.

We read the tariff on pakpost.gov.pk on 5 November 2026. It lists more than 200 countries, each with two numbers: the charge for the first kilogram and the charge for every additional kilogram. Below are the countries Pakistanis send to most, a worked example, and the older table that still sits on one Pakistan Post page.

Pakistan Post parcel rates from 12 March 2026 for 1 kg to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait

Gulf countries are the cheapest, from Rs 2,500 for the first kg

Pakistan Post's lowest parcel rates are to the Gulf. The first kilogram costs Rs 2,500 to the UAE and Rs 2,600 to Rs 2,800 to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. Each extra kilogram costs Rs 400 to Rs 1,100.

CountryFirst kgEach additional kg
UAERs 2,500Rs 600
KuwaitRs 2,600Rs 700
Saudi ArabiaRs 2,700Rs 1,100
QatarRs 2,700Rs 700
OmanRs 2,700Rs 400
BahrainRs 2,800Rs 800
IraqRs 3,300Rs 1,200

Oman has the lowest extra kilogram charge in the Gulf, at Rs 400. Saudi Arabia has the highest, at Rs 1,100. That matters for heavy parcels: 5 kg to Oman works out cheaper than 5 kg to Saudi Arabia, even though the first kilogram costs the same.

The UK, USA and Canada cost Rs 6,900 to Rs 7,500 for the first kg

Parcels to North America and the UK cost almost three times the Gulf rate. Pakistan Post charges Rs 7,300 for the first kilogram to the UK, Rs 7,500 to the USA and Rs 6,900 to Canada. Extra kilograms cost Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,400 each.

CountryFirst kgEach additional kg

Some European rates are well below the UK rate. France is Rs 5,400 for the first kilogram and only Rs 1,500 for each extra one. Italy, Greece and Ireland also start under Rs 5,000.

Work out your parcel cost in three steps

Pakistan Post charges the first kilogram at one rate and every additional kilogram at a second rate. So the cost is the first kg rate plus the extra kg rate times the remaining kilograms.

  1. Weigh the packed parcel, box and all, and round up to the next kilogram.
  2. Take the first kg rate for the country from the tables above.
  3. Add the additional kg rate once for every kilogram after the first.

A 5 kg parcel to the UK costs Rs 7,300 plus four times Rs 3,000, which is Rs 19,300. The same 5 kg to the UAE is Rs 2,500 plus four times Rs 600, or Rs 4,900. To the USA it is Rs 7,500 plus four times Rs 4,400, or Rs 25,100.

Ask at the counter whether rounding is to the full kilogram. The tariff sheet gives only "First Kg" and "Addl. Kg" and does not say how part kilograms are charged.

Worked example: a 5 kg Pakistan Post parcel costs Rs 4,900 to the UAE and Rs 19,300 to the UK

An older 2019 table still shows lower rates

Pakistan Post's "International Parcel Tariff" web page still shows a table headed "Effective 1st February 2019", with much lower figures. The PDF tariff on the same site is dated 12 March 2026. Use the 2026 rates.

The 2019 page shows Rs 1,850 for the first kilogram to the UAE and Rs 3,860 to the USA. The 2026 sheet shows Rs 2,500 and Rs 7,500. If a counter clerk quotes a figure close to the old table, ask which sheet they are using. The counter rate is what you pay.

Customs in the receiving country may charge duty, and Pakistan Post's tariff does not include it. Pakistan Post also keeps a list of prohibited items on its website. Check it before you pack medicines, liquids or food. For parcels coming into Pakistan, our guide on customs duty on parcels explains the rules. Track any registered item with Pakistan Post tracking.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read Pakistan Post's "Tariff for International Parcel (w.e.f. 12-03-2026)" PDF and its older International Parcel Tariff web page on pakpost.gov.pk on 5 November 2026. We read the PDF as text and checked the rows twice, because one reading shifted numbers on page 1. We did not send a parcel. Pakistan Post's separate EMS and EMS Plus rate sheets are scanned images that we could not read as text, so they are not covered here. For sending money instead of goods, see Pakistan Post money order fees.
