We read every domestic rate page on pakpost.gov.pk on 5 November 2026 and put the tables in one place below. Each page carries the line "Rates Revised With Effect From 01-10-2026". For faster delivery by Urgent Mail Service, see our page on Pakistan Post UMS rates, which start at Rs 100 within a city.

An ordinary letter costs Rs 40 to Rs 400 by weight
Pakistan Post's ordinary letter rate starts at Rs 40 for up to 20 grams and rises in eight steps to Rs 400 for 2 kg. A normal one-page letter in an envelope weighs under 20 grams, so Rs 40 covers it.
| Weight | Ordinary letter | Registered letter (postage plus fee) |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 20 grams | Rs 40 | Rs 80 |
| 20 to 50 grams | Rs 80 | Rs 120 |
| 50 to 100 grams | Rs 100 | Rs 140 |
| 100 to 250 grams | Rs 140 | Rs 180 |
| 250 to 500 grams | Rs 170 | Rs 210 |
| 500 grams to 1 kg | Rs 250 | Rs 290 |
| 1 to 1.5 kg | Rs 320 | Rs 360 |
| 1.5 to 2 kg | Rs 400 | Rs 440 |
The rate covers envelopes and aerogrammes. A single post card is Rs 10, according to Pakistan Post's post card page.
A registered letter adds Rs 40 to the ordinary rate
Pakistan Post's registered letter page says the registration fee is now Rs 40, and its table shows postage plus that fee. So a registered letter up to 20 grams costs Rs 80, and the fee is the same Rs 40 at every weight.
Pakistan Post says a registered article passes through the hands of postal supervisors under special precautions, so it is more secure. It advises it for any item that holds stamps, a cheque, bank notes or other valuable papers. For legal notices, such as a section 80 notice to a government office, a registered letter with acknowledgment due, Rs 10 extra on the calculator page, gives you proof of delivery.
The registration fee is Rs 40 on one page and Rs 30 on another
Pakistan Post's domestic rate calculator page still shows a registration fee of Rs 30 for general users. The registered letter page, revised from 1 October 2026, says Rs 40. The calculator page itself says its rates are approximate and the post office counter rate is the correct one. Expect Rs 40.

A parcel up to 1 kg costs Rs 260, and Rs 1,660 up to 30 kg
Pakistan Post's parcel rate is Rs 260 up to 1 kg, Rs 400 up to 3 kg and Rs 760 up to 10 kg. Above 30 kg it charges Rs 30 for each extra kilogram. The calculator page adds an air surcharge of Rs 20.
| Parcel weight | Parcel | VPP (cash on delivery) |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 1 kg | Rs 260 | Rs 280 |
| 1 to 3 kg | Rs 400 | Rs 420 |
| 3 to 5 kg | Rs 540 | Rs 560 |
| 5 to 10 kg | Rs 760 | Rs 780 |
| 10 to 15 kg | Rs 980 | Rs 1,000 |
| 15 to 20 kg | Rs 1,210 | Rs 1,230 |
| 20 to 25 kg | Rs 1,440 | Rs 1,460 |
| 25 to 30 kg | Rs 1,660 | Rs 1,680 |
| Above 30 kg | Rs 30 per kg | Rs 30 per kg |
The VPP rate includes postage, registration and the value payable fee. With VPP, the post office collects the price of the goods from the receiver and sends the money to you. It works like cash on delivery, through the post office network.

Small packets are cheaper for samples up to 2 kg
Pakistan Post's small packet service is meant for trade samples and small goods. It costs Rs 20 up to 100 grams, Rs 40 up to 250 grams, Rs 70 up to 1 kg and Rs 80 up to 2 kg. The domestic calculator lists a Rs 20 registration fee for small packets.
Insurance costs Rs 20 for every Rs 1,000 of value up to Rs 10,000
Pakistan Post insures registered letters and parcels against loss. The fee is Rs 20 per Rs 1,000 up to Rs 10,000, then a flat Rs 230, Rs 260 or Rs 310 by value band, up to Rs 50,000.
| Declared value | Insurance fee |
|---|---|
| Rs 1,000 | Rs 20 |
| Rs 5,000 | Rs 100 |
| Rs 10,000 | Rs 200 |
| Rs 11,000 to Rs 20,000 | Rs 230 |
| Rs 21,000 to Rs 25,000 | Rs 260 |
| Rs 26,000 to Rs 50,000 | Rs 310 |
You pay the insurance fee on top of postage and registration, all in advance. The insured value cannot be more than the real value of what is inside. The insurance page does not say whether this table was revised on 1 October 2026, so ask at the counter.
