Short answer: Petrol costs Rs 376.06 a litre in Pakistan from Wednesday, 28 October 2026, down Rs 3.19 from Rs 379.25 on 27 October. High speed diesel goes up Rs 2.25 to Rs 398.07. Petrol is now at its lowest on any October sheet, while diesel is Rs 22.01 dearer than petrol.
That is the petrol price today in Pakistan, as listed by the Petroleum Division on its home page under "Prices of Petroleum Products on 28th October, 2026". The Petroleum Division is the federal ministry office for oil and gas. Its press release, dated 27 October, says the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the prices for 28 October. We read that release and the full OGRA sheet early on 28 October and compared every line with the sheets for 24 and 27 October.
Petrol falls to Rs 376.06 and diesel rises to Rs 398.07
From 28 October 2026, petrol is Rs 376.06 a litre and high speed diesel is Rs 398.07. Against the last prices we reported, on 24 October, petrol is Rs 1.65 cheaper and diesel is Rs 4.41 dearer. A rise on 27 October sits in between.

| Date | Petrol, Rs a litre | Diesel, Rs a litre | Diesel minus petrol |
|---|---|---|---|
| 22 October | 379.31 | 390.11 | 10.80 |
| 23 October | 377.71 | 391.75 | 14.04 |
| 24 to 26 October | 377.71 | 393.66 | 15.95 |
| 27 October | 379.25, up 1.54 | 395.82, up 2.16 | 16.57 |
| 28 October | 376.06, down 3.19 | 398.07, up 2.25 | 22.01 |
The price cut talked about for 28 October is real, but only for petrol. The Petroleum Division release shows petrol down Rs 3.19 and diesel up Rs 2.25 on the same day. If you drive a diesel pickup, a tractor or a van, your fuel got dearer again. Every earlier sheet this month is in the October list of OGRA daily prices.
Prices held from 24 to 26 October, then rose on 27 October
The 24 October prices ran for three days, to 26 October, as the Petroleum Division release of 23 October said, so nothing changed on 25 or 26 October. On 27 October petrol rose Rs 1.54 to Rs 379.25 and diesel rose Rs 2.16 to Rs 395.82. We had not reported that change until now.
The 27 October rise came from world prices. In OGRA's seven day average, the Gulf petrol price went up to $118.41 a barrel from $117.52. Dubai crude, which sets the diesel price, went up to $111.83 from $110.58. Taxes and margins did not move.
A Rs 5.71 drop in customs duty pulled petrol down on 28 October
Petrol fell on 28 October even though its world price rose. The landed cost at Karachi went up Rs 3.33 a litre. But customs duty fell Rs 5.71 to Rs 20.56, and the exchange rate adjustment, a small line for rupee moves on the importer's payment date, fell Rs 0.82 to zero. So the import price dropped Rs 3.19.

The Gulf petrol price in OGRA's average rose $1.80 to $120.21 a barrel. The freight premium stayed at $19.88. In rupees, petrol landed at Karachi now costs Rs 244.73 a litre, against Rs 241.40 a day earlier.
The customs line is the surprise. It sat between Rs 26.27 and Rs 26.31 on the 23, 24 and 27 October sheets. On 28 October it is Rs 20.56. The OGRA sheet does not give a reason. Its own note says customs is worked out from PSO cargoes imported in the last seven working days, so a change in those cargoes can move it. We could not find a government notice that changes the customs rate on petrol, so we cannot say whether this drop will last.
Diesel rose Rs 2.25 because crude kept climbing
Diesel rose because Dubai crude in OGRA's average went up again, to $113.13 a barrel from $111.83. The diesel crack, the gap between the diesel price and crude, stayed at $38.00. Customs on diesel stayed at Rs 15.68, so the whole rise reached the pump.

Diesel has now risen on six sheets in a row, from Rs 389.27 on 20 October to Rs 398.07, a total of Rs 8.80. That is its highest price since the 3 October sheet, when it was Rs 399.64. Dubai crude in OGRA's average is up $2.55 since 24 October alone, and OGRA says a world price change takes up to seven working days to reach the pump in full.
Levies and customs now add Rs 105.56 to each litre of petrol
Of the Rs 376.06 petrol price, Rs 105.56 is levy and customs: a petroleum levy of Rs 80, a climate support levy of Rs 5 and customs duty of Rs 20.56. That is 28.1 per cent of the price, down from Rs 111.27 on 27 October. Sales tax stays at zero.
| Line on the 28 October sheet | Petrol, Rs a litre | Diesel, Rs a litre |
|---|---|---|
| Landed cost at Karachi | 244.73 | 274.84 |
| Exchange rate adjustment | 0.00 | 0.00 |
| Customs duty | 20.56 | 15.68 |
| Freight equalisation, company and dealer margins | 25.76 | 22.55 |
| Petroleum levy | 80.00 | 80.00 |
| Climate support levy | 5.00 | 5.00 |
| Total | 376.06 | 398.07 |
Diesel carries Rs 100.68 of levies and customs, or 25.3 per cent of its price. The margins did not change: Rs 7.87 for the oil company and Rs 9.98 for the dealer on both fuels, plus freight equalisation of Rs 7.91 on petrol and Rs 4.70 on diesel.
What a fill costs on 28 October
A 5 litre bike fill of petrol costs Rs 1,880.30 and a 10 litre car fill costs Rs 3,760.60, which is Rs 16.50 less than on 24 October. Ten litres of diesel now cost Rs 3,980.70, or Rs 44.10 more. A 50 litre diesel fill costs Rs 19,903.50, up Rs 220.50.

Your pump can charge a little more than the official figure. The sheet leaves out secondary freight, the cost of moving fuel from the depot to the pump. To turn a rupee amount into litres, use the table of how many litres Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 buys. To check what your own pump should charge, follow these steps.
- Open the Petroleum Division home page and find "Prices of Petroleum Products on 28th October, 2026".
- Read the "Revised Prices w.e.f. 28.10.2026" column for Motor Spirit (petrol) and High Speed Diesel.
- For the full build-up, open OGRA's price publications page and choose "Effective Dated October 28, 2026".
- Multiply the price by the litres you plan to buy and compare with the pump's display.
- Keep your receipt if the gap is more than a rupee or two a litre, and complain to the district administration or OGRA.
Under daily pricing, the petrol price in Pakistan can change on any working day, so check the official figure on the day you fill up, not one you read last week.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 28 October 2026 at about 09:30 PKT. The prices for 24 to 26, 27 and 28 October come from the Petroleum Division press releases on the Petroleum Division home page, which we downloaded and read. The build-up lines come from the OGRA sheets effective 27 and 28 October 2026, which we downloaded from OGRA's price publications page and read in full. The 20 to 24 October prices come from our earlier daily reports, each read from OGRA's sheet on the day. The fill costs, tax shares and totals are our own arithmetic. We could not find a reason for the Rs 5.71 drop in petrol customs duty on any official page.
