Short answer: Petrol costs Rs 377.71 a litre in Pakistan from Saturday, 24 October 2026, the same as on 23 October. High speed diesel goes up Rs 1.91 to Rs 393.66. Diesel is now Rs 15.95 dearer than petrol, the widest gap of any October sheet.
That is the petrol price today in Pakistan, taken from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) sheet that applies from 00:00 hours on 24 October. OGRA is the regulator that works out fuel prices under the daily pricing system. We downloaded the sheets for 23 and 24 October from its price publications page early on 24 October and compared every line. Below you will find why petrol did not move, why diesel rose, and what a fill costs now.
Petrol stays at Rs 377.71 and diesel rises to Rs 393.66
From 24 October 2026, petrol is Rs 377.71 a litre, unchanged, and high speed diesel is Rs 393.66, up Rs 1.91 from Rs 391.75. Diesel has now risen on four sheets in a row. Petrol is still Rs 21.25 below its October high of Rs 398.96.

| Date | Petrol, Rs a litre | Diesel, Rs a litre | Diesel minus petrol |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 October | 381.14 | 389.27 | 8.13 |
| 21 October | 382.02 | 389.80 | 7.78 |
| 22 October | 379.31 | 390.11 | 10.80 |
| 23 October | 377.71 | 391.75 | 14.04 |
| 24 October | 377.71, no change | 393.66, up 1.91 | 15.95 |
Diesel is up Rs 4.39 since 20 October. Petrol is down Rs 3.43 over the same five sheets. That split matters if you drive a diesel pickup, a tractor or a van, because your cost is climbing while the petrol headlines say prices are falling. Every sheet of the month sits in the October list of OGRA daily prices, and the previous day is in our report on the 23 October petrol price.
Two small moves cancelled out, so petrol did not change
Petrol held because two lines on the sheet moved by almost the same amount in opposite directions. The landed cost at Karachi fell Rs 0.62 a litre, but the exchange rate adjustment rose Rs 0.64. Customs and freight lines moved by a few paisas.
The Gulf petrol price in OGRA's seven day average fell to $117.52 a barrel from $117.89. The freight premium rose to $19.88 from $19.79. Together, the cost and freight price fell to $137.40 a barrel. In rupees, petrol landed at Karachi costs Rs 239.86 a litre, down from Rs 240.48.
The exchange rate adjustment covers the gap between the rupee rate on the day the importer paid for its cargo and the average rate OGRA uses. It went up to Rs 0.82 from Rs 0.18. That one line ate the whole saving. The price before levies ended at Rs 292.71 on both days, so the pump price stayed where it was.
Diesel rose Rs 1.91 because crude went up
Diesel rose because the Dubai crude price in OGRA's average went up to $110.58 a barrel from $109.47, a rise of $1.11. The diesel crack, the gap between the diesel price and crude, stayed at $38.00. So the whole rise came from crude, and it passed straight to the pump.

Diesel landed at Karachi now costs Rs 270.43 a litre, against Rs 268.51 on 23 October. Customs duty stays at Rs 15.68. The import price before margins rose to Rs 286.11. Add Rs 22.55 of freight equalisation, company and dealer margins, then the Rs 80 petroleum levy and the Rs 5 climate support levy, and you reach Rs 393.66.
OGRA notes that the full effect of a change in world prices reaches the pump within seven working days, because the Gulf figures are seven day rolling averages. So a rise in crude this week can keep pushing diesel up for several more sheets. How diesel is priced is explained in the petrol price formula.
Levies and customs add Rs 111.27 to each litre of petrol
Of the Rs 377.71 petrol price, Rs 111.27 is tax and duty: a petroleum levy of Rs 80, a climate support levy of Rs 5 and customs duty of Rs 26.27. That is 29.5 per cent of the price. OGRA's sheet lists petrol and diesel as exempt from sales tax.
| Line on the 24 October sheet | Petrol, Rs a litre | Diesel, Rs a litre |
|---|---|---|
| Landed cost at Karachi | 239.86 | 270.43 |
| Exchange rate adjustment | 0.82 | 0.00 |
| Customs duty | 26.27 | 15.68 |
| Freight equalisation, company and dealer margins | 25.76 | 22.55 |
| Petroleum levy | 80.00 | 80.00 |
| Climate support levy | 5.00 | 5.00 |
| Total | 377.71 | 393.66 |
Diesel carries Rs 100.68 of levies and customs, or 25.6 per cent of its price. The petrol margins are Rs 7.91 for freight equalisation, Rs 7.87 for the oil company and Rs 9.98 for the dealer. Diesel's freight line is lower, at Rs 4.70.
What a fill costs on 24 October
A 5 litre bike fill of petrol costs Rs 1,888.55 and a 10 litre car fill costs Rs 3,777.10, the same as on 23 October. Ten litres of diesel now cost Rs 3,936.60, which is Rs 19.10 more than a day earlier. A 50 litre diesel fill costs Rs 19,683.00, up Rs 95.50.

Your pump can charge a little more than OGRA's figure. The sheet leaves out secondary freight, the cost of moving fuel from the depot to the pump. To turn a rupee amount into litres, use the table of how many litres Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 buys. To check what your own pump should charge, follow these steps.
- Open OGRA's price publications page and choose the sheet "Effective Dated October 24, 2026".
- Read the last line on each page: "Total Petrol Price" and "Total Diesel Price".
- Multiply by the litres you plan to buy.
- Compare with the pump's display. A gap of more than a rupee or two a litre is worth asking about.
- Keep your receipt if the pump's price looks wrong, and complain to the district administration or OGRA.
On supply, the Minister of State for Finance told the Senate on 23 October that there were no supply issues, as reported, after senators asked whether petrol would be available in December. We could not find a written statement on this on an official site, so treat it as reported. If you are on the targeted fuel subsidy, the petrol relief code 9771 still sets how you get tokens.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 24 October 2026 at about 05:30 PKT. Every price and every line of the build-up comes from the OGRA sheets effective 23 and 24 October 2026, which we downloaded from OGRA's price publications page and read in full. The prices for 20 to 22 October come from the earlier OGRA sheets we reported on those days. The fill costs, the tax shares, the Rs 4.39 diesel rise and the Rs 15.95 gap are our own arithmetic. OGRA's sheet gives no reason for the world price moves, and we could not verify the Senate remarks on fuel supply on an official site.
