Petrol costs Rs 392.76 a litre in Pakistan from Saturday, 3 October 2026, up Rs 2.10. High speed diesel is Rs 399.64, up 30 paisa. Petrol has now risen two days running, and diesel has gone up for the first time since its 18 September peak.

That is the petrol price today in Pakistan. We read the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority's (OGRA) price sheet for 3 October at about 1:35am PKT. OGRA is the regulator that works out the fuel price each day. Its sheet gives both new prices, effective from midnight.

Petrol is Rs 392.76 and diesel Rs 399.64 today

From 3 October 2026, petrol is Rs 392.76 a litre and high speed diesel is Rs 399.64. Petrol rose Rs 2.10 and diesel rose 30 paisa from the 2 October rates. Both figures come from OGRA's own price sheet, which we read at source early on Saturday.

OGRA's sheet for 3 October says "Effective October 03, 2026, 00:00 hours". The 2 October figures in the first column are confirmed too. The Petroleum Division's press release dated 1 October set them at Rs 390.66 for petrol and Rs 399.34 for diesel.

The Petroleum Division had not posted a release for 3 October when we checked. OGRA's sheet is the primary record, so we use it.

Petrol is at its highest since 22 September

Petrol has gone up Rs 5.36 in two days, from Rs 387.40 on 1 October. At Rs 392.76 it is the highest since 22 September, when it was Rs 393.75. The three cuts from 29 September to 1 October, Rs 3.90 in all, are now fully undone.

The cause is the same as yesterday. The sheet shows the Gulf price of petrol averaged $130.17 a barrel, up from $129.01. So the cost of petrol landed at Karachi rose Rs 1.99, to Rs 255.30. The inland freight margin added 11 paisa. Customs duty and the exchange rate adjustment did not change. The 2 October prices started this rise.

Diesel rises for the first time since 18 September

Diesel fell on ten price dates in a row after its Rs 424.92 peak on 18 September. That run has ended with a 30 paisa rise. Diesel is still Rs 25.28 a litre below the peak, about 6 per cent cheaper.

High speed diesel price in Pakistan, 29 September to 3 October 2026

World prices did not push diesel up. Dubai crude averaged $110.11 on yesterday's sheet and $109.95 today. So the landed cost of diesel actually fell 30 paisa, to Rs 276.36.

The rise came from the inland freight margin. That is the cost of moving fuel across the country, shared out equally per litre. It went from Rs 4.15 to Rs 4.75 on diesel, a 60 paisa jump. Take away the 30 paisa saving at Karachi and you get the 30 paisa rise.

Diesel now costs only Rs 6.88 more than petrol. The gap was Rs 8.68 on 2 October and Rs 22.84 on 25 September. OGRA uses a seven working day average of world prices, so changes reach the pump slowly. That delay explains why petrol does not fall when oil falls.

Levies and customs still add Rs 110.26 to each litre of petrol

OGRA's sheet breaks down the Rs 392.76. The petroleum levy is Rs 80 a litre, the climate support levy Rs 5 and customs duty Rs 25.26. Together that is Rs 110.26 on petrol, the same as yesterday. Diesel carries Rs 100.68, because its customs duty is Rs 15.68.

What makes up the petrol price in Pakistan on 3 October 2026, from OGRA's sheet
  • Petrol landed at Karachi: Rs 255.30 a litre, at $146.02 a barrel including freight and Rs 277.27 to the dollar.
  • Exchange rate adjustment: Rs 1.33 a litre on petrol and zero on diesel.
  • Oil company margin: Rs 7.87 a litre on both fuels.
  • Petrol pump dealer's margin: Rs 9.98 a litre.
  • Inland freight margin: Rs 8.02 on petrol and Rs 4.75 on diesel.
  • Sales tax: zero. OGRA's sheet says both fuels are exempt.

The federal government sets the petroleum levy, not OGRA, so it does not move with world prices.

A 40 litre petrol tank costs Rs 84 more than yesterday

A 40 litre petrol tank costs Rs 15,710.40 today, Rs 84 more than on 2 October. A 200 litre diesel fill costs Rs 79,928, just Rs 60 more than yesterday and still Rs 5,056 less than at the 18 September peak.

Cost of a petrol and diesel fill in Pakistan on 3 October 2026
  1. Bike, 5 litres of petrol: Rs 1,963.80, up Rs 10.50.
  2. Car, 10 litres of petrol: Rs 3,927.60, up Rs 21.
  3. Car, 40 litres of petrol: Rs 15,710.40, up Rs 84.
  4. Pickup, 40 litres of diesel: Rs 15,985.60, up Rs 12.
  5. Truck, 200 litres of diesel: Rs 79,928, up Rs 60.

These are our own sums at the reference price. A pump far from the main depots can charge a little more, because OGRA's price leaves out the last leg of freight. The running record for each day sits with the daily petrol price in Pakistan.

The 9771 relief brings petrol to Rs 292.76

Bikes, rickshaws and cars up to 800cc still get Rs 100 off each litre with a 9771 token. At today's price that makes petrol Rs 292.76 a litre. A bike token covers 5 litres and a car token covers 10 litres.

We re-read the official portal, pmfuelrelief.pk, early on 3 October. It still offers Rs 100 a litre for vehicles registered on or after 1 January 2006. Bikes and rickshaws get 5 litres for 7 days, and cars up to 800cc get 10 litres for 10 days.

A 5 litre bike token now costs Rs 1,463.80. A 10 litre car token costs Rs 2,927.60. The SMS format and fixes for a missing token are in how to get petrol relief with code 9771.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 3 October 2026, about 1:45am PKT. We read OGRA's price publications. Its sheet dated 3 October lists petrol at Rs 392.76 and diesel at Rs 399.64, with the full cost breakdown quoted above. We read the Petroleum Division's press release dated 1 October, which confirms the 2 October prices. The 22 September petrol price is from the Petroleum Division release we read at the time. The relief terms are from pmfuelrelief.pk, read on 3 October. The fill costs, gaps and totals are our own arithmetic. Prices change often, so check the pump before relying on any figure here.
