PIA Cargo Tracking by AWB Number: 214 Prefix, 8 Digits, and Fixes When It Shows Nothing
Track PIA cargo with prefix 214 and your 8 digit AWB number on piac.com.pk. See fixes when it shows nothing, PIA cargo contacts, lost cargo pay and UAB rules.

To track a PIA cargo shipment, open "Track Your Cargo" on piac.com.pk, keep the fixed prefix 214, type the 8 digit air waybill (AWB) number and press Submit. 214 is PIA's airline code on every air waybill, so a full PIA AWB looks like 214 followed by eight digits. Below is where to find the number, what to do when tracking shows nothing, what PIA pays for lost cargo, and how to send extra luggage as cargo for less than the airport excess charge.
We read PIA's cargo pages, its cargo questions, its air waybill terms and its March 2026 export charges on 2 November 2026. Cargo here means anything booked under an air waybill: parcels, commercial goods, unaccompanied baggage and, sadly, human remains.
PIA cargo tracking takes the 214 prefix and an 8 digit AWB
PIA's tracking form shows the airline as "PK, Pakistan International Airlines" with the prefix 214 already filled in and locked. You type only the eight digits that follow it. The tracker opens results in a new tab.
- Go to piac.com.pk and open Corporate, then Business Units, Cargo, Track Your Cargo.
- Leave the prefix as 214. It cannot be changed.
- Type the 8 digit air waybill number from your receipt, with no spaces or dashes.
- Press Submit. The result opens in a new browser tab.
- Read the latest status line, and note the flight and station shown.
If your browser blocks pop ups, allow them for piac.com.pk. A blocked new tab is the most common reason people think the tracker is broken.

Your AWB number is on the air waybill the cargo office or agent gives you
PIA says every shipment is handed to a PIA Cargo booking office or a certified cargo agent, and an air waybill is issued for it. That paper carries the 11 digit number: 214, then the eight digits you type into the tracker.
| Part of the number | Example | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Airline prefix | 214 | Fixed for every PIA air waybill |
| Serial number | 8 digits | Printed on your air waybill |
| Full AWB | 214 plus 8 digits | What an agent may quote, as 214-xxxxxxxx |
If an agent gives you only a booking slip with their own reference, ask for the air waybill number itself. An agent's internal number will not work on PIA's tracker.
Changing anything on an export air waybill after it is issued costs USD 50 for any change, under PIA's export charges effective from 15 March 2026. Check the names and addresses before you leave the counter.
Cargo is separate from the bag you check in with your ticket. A suitcase that goes missing on your own flight is a baggage claim at the airport, and the steps to claim lost or damaged baggage apply instead of cargo tracking.
When tracking shows nothing, check the prefix, then call cargo
An empty result usually means a typing slip or a shipment not yet entered. Check that you typed eight digits after 214, not eleven. If you booked the same day, try again later in the day. After that, contact PIA's cargo market planning section on +92 51 905 9323.
The cargo line works from 9:00 to 17:30 Pakistan time. Have the full AWB number, the booking date, the origin and the destination ready when you call.
For a shipment booked through an agent, call the agent first. They hold the booking and can see problems at customs before PIA's system shows them, because customs clearance normally goes through customs approved agents before PIA takes the goods.

PIA prices cargo by weight or volume, whichever is higher
PIA charges cargo per kilogram, on the actual weight or the volume weight, whichever is higher. There is no minimum or maximum weight. Live animals, dangerous goods, perishables and valuables are charged differently because they need special handling.
That rule matters for light but bulky boxes. A big carton of quilts can be billed on its size, not its weight. Ask the booking office for both figures before you pay.
PIA lists freight space by aircraft: about 9 tons on a Boeing 777-200ER, 12.5 tons on a 777-300ER and 0.8 tons on an Airbus A320. Large or odd sized items need a check with the nearest PIA office before you book.
Extra luggage can go as PIA cargo for less than the airport excess fee
PIA says passengers with baggage over their allowance can book it as unaccompanied baggage (UAB) at a PIA Cargo booking office, at rates lower than excess baggage at check in. Book at least one day before you fly. You must be present for customs clearance.
Unaccompanied baggage covers personal effects only: clothes, portable musical instruments, sports gear and similar items. PIA excludes machinery, money, jewellery, watches, cameras, documents, perfume, liquor and household furniture. Your ticketed allowance is explained in the PIA baggage rules, and anything you bring in still faces the customs duty-free baggage allowance.
For lost or damaged cargo, PIA's cargo questions give US$24 a kilogram on international routes and Rs 500 a kilogram on domestic routes, with conditions. Its air waybill terms give about US$20 a kilogram under the Warsaw Convention. The two pages differ, so declare a value for anything costly.

Common questions
What is PIA's AWB prefix for cargo tracking?
214. PIA's tracker fills it in and locks it, so you type only the eight digits after it.
How do I track PIA cargo from Pakistan to the UK or Gulf?
The same way: the Track Your Cargo page on piac.com.pk with 214 and your 8 digit AWB. The route makes no difference to the tracker.
What is the PIA cargo contact number?
PIA lists its cargo market planning section on +92 51 905 9323, from 9:00 to 17:30 Pakistan time. The general PIA line is 111-786-786.
Is PIA unaccompanied baggage cheaper than excess baggage?
PIA says it is offered at more economical rates than excess baggage at check in. It does not print the rates, so ask the cargo office for a quote.
How much does PIA pay for lost cargo?
Its cargo questions say US$24 a kilogram internationally and Rs 500 a kilogram domestically. Its air waybill terms say about US$20 a kilogram. A declared value raises the limit if you pay the extra charge.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read PIA's Track Your Cargo page, its cargo questions, its air waybill terms, its fleet page and the export charges sheet dated 15 March 2026 on 2 November 2026. We did not have a real air waybill to test, so we have not seen a live tracking result. PIA does not publish its per kilogram freight rates online.
