PPSC Audit Officer BS-17 Final Result: 56 Recommended for Punjab Revenue Authority Posts
PPSC's 6 October 2026 final result recommends 56 Audit Officers (BS-17) for the Punjab Revenue Authority: 45 on open merit, 11 on quotas. See how to read it.

Short answer: The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) announced its final result for Audit Officer (BS-17) on 6 October 2026. It recommends 56 candidates to the Punjab government for posts in the Punjab Revenue Authority. Of these, 45 came on open merit and 11 through the women, special person and minorities quotas.
We opened the four page PPSC notice on 13 October 2026 from the commission's Final Results page. The case number printed on it is 03-RA-2026. This page reports the counts and explains how to read the notice. We do not list any candidate names, because they are on the official notice for those who need them.
PPSC recommended 56 Audit Officers on contract for three years
The notice recommends 56 candidates for Audit Officer (BS-17) in the Punjab Revenue Authority, Finance Department. The posts are on contract for three years, "likely to be extended", as the notice words it. The result is dated 6 October 2026.
Contract posts differ from regular ones in PPSC notices. The wording is "on contract basis for a period of three years", and the notice adds that the contract is likely to be extended. Read your offer letter for the exact terms, because the notice alone does not set pay or conditions.
A recommendation is not an appointment. The notice says the candidates "have been recommended to the Provincial Government for appointment". The notice does not say when the department will act.
45 came on open merit and 11 through quotas
The notice groups candidates by the quota they were recommended against. Open merit candidates are numbered 1 to 45. Quota candidates keep their own merit numbers from the full ranking, so a woman at merit number 92 sits in the list as a women quota candidate.
| Quota heading in the notice | Candidates recommended | Merit numbers shown |
|---|---|---|
| Open merit | 45 | 1 to 45 |
| Women quota | 6 | 46, 68, 72, 78, 83 and 92 |
| Special person quota | 2 | 91 and 125 |
| Minorities quota | 3 | 80, 138 and 139 |
| Total | 56 | The page header says 56 posts |

The count of names equals the 56 posts printed at the top of pages two to four, so every advertised post has a recommended candidate.
Lahore is the most common domicile in the list
Each name carries a district of domicile. By our own count of the notice, 13 of the 56 candidates list Lahore, and 6 list Gujranwala. The rest are spread across about 26 other districts, from Vehari to Attock.
This count is ours, made by hand from the printed list. It is not a PPSC figure, so treat it as a rough guide. The guide on reading a PPSC final recommendation notice explains the columns.
Quota merit numbers sit above the open merit cut
The open merit list stops at merit number 45. A candidate at 46, 68 or 92 did not make the open merit cut, but each holds a place under a quota heading. That is how the notice reaches 56 names. If you see a merit number above 45 in your own result, look for a quota heading, not for an error.
The notice also prints a case number at the foot of each page, 03-RA-2026, and the date 6 October 2026. Quote both if you write to PPSC about this result, so the office can find the file at once.
How to find your own line on the notice
Open the notice, find your merit or application number, and read the quota heading above it. The number before the slash is the merit position. The number after it is your application number.
- Open the PPSC Final Results page and find case 3A2026, Audit Officer.
- Look for your application number, the long number after the slash.
- Read the heading above your line to see the quota.
- Note your merit position and domicile as printed.
- Wait for the department, and keep your original documents ready.

If your name is not on the list
You can ask for your marks. PPSC issues a Detailed Marks Certificate to each candidate, and the steps are in the guide to getting your PPSC DMC online. Use only the official site. Fake job sites that ask for a fee are covered in the page on checking you are on the real PPSC website.

PPSC also posted results for six smaller posts in the same week. If you are tracking your own interview, see the PPSC interview dates for October 2026.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 13 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the PPSC notice for case 3A2026 (dated 6 October 2026, four pages) through the PPSC Final Results page. The quota counts come from the headings in that notice. The Lahore and Gujranwala counts are our own tally from the printed domicile column. We did not see the department's offer letters or any joining date, so we cannot say when posts will be filled.
