Short answer: A PPSC final recommendation notice lists the candidates the Commission has recommended to the Provincial Government for appointment. Each row gives a merit number, an application number, the name with father's name, the quota and the domicile. Find yours under Results, then Final Recommendations, on ppsc.gop.pk.

A final recommendation is the moment a Punjab job application becomes a job offer in waiting. The notice is one page, sometimes four, and it is easy to misread. Candidates have also asked which line is the merit number and which is the roll number.

We opened the PPSC Final Recommendations page on 12 October 2026 and read seven of the notices posted that week. They include the Audit Officer notice dated 6 October 2026 and six notices dated 8 October 2026. We name no candidates here, because the lists are for the people named in them.

A recommendation is not an appointment letter

The notice says the candidates "have been recommended to the Provincial Government for appointment". PPSC recommends, and the department appoints. So a name on the list means you are selected by PPSC, and the appointment letter comes later from the department.

PPSC's Final Recommendations page carries results declared within the past one year. Older results sit in the archive pages on the same site.

The notice also states the post, the pay scale and the terms. Read that line first. A post marked "on contract basis for a period of three years" is a contract post, not a regular one, and the notice says so.

Each row has a merit and application number, a name and a domicile

The first column holds two numbers separated by a slash, such as 1/38600094. We read the part before the slash as the merit position within that quota, and the long number after it as the application number. Then comes the name with the father's name, and the domicile district.

ColumnWhat it shows
Merit / App. No.Merit position, then application number, written as one slash-joined figure
Name with father's nameThe candidate's name and the father's name beneath it
DomicileThe district of domicile, such as Lahore or R.Y. Khan
Quota headingThe line above a group, such as Open Merit or Minorities Quota
The four parts of a PPSC final recommendation notice: merit number, name, domicile and quota

The page itself does not label the first number's meaning beyond the column heading "MERIT/APP. NO." So treat our reading as a reading, and confirm against your own DMC and application number.

Quota headings decide which list you are on

Notices group names under headings such as Open Merit, Women Quota, Special Person Quota and Minorities Quota. A candidate recommended against a quota appears under that heading.

The Audit Officer notice for the Punjab Revenue Authority shows the spread. It recommends 56 candidates, with 46 on open merit, 5 on the women quota, 2 on the special person quota and 3 on the minorities quota. Those are our counts of the rows on the pages.

Small posts look different. On 8 October PPSC recommended a single candidate for a Software Developer BS-17 post in the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, and two for an Assistant BS-16 post in the Board of Revenue, one under each of two quotas.

How to find your notice on the PPSC site

Open the PPSC homepage, then Results, then Final Recommendations. The page lists result date, case number and post. Click the case number to open the PDF. The Complete Merit List page next to it shows the full ranking for the same case.

  1. Type ppsc.gop.pk into your browser yourself.
  2. Open the Results menu and choose Final Recommendations.
  3. Find your post by name or case number. Case numbers look like 16J2026.
  4. Click the case number to open the notice and read the heading line.
  5. Find your row. Note the quota heading, merit number and domicile.
  6. Download the PDF and keep it with your application papers.
Steps to find and read a PPSC final recommendation notice

Use only the address you typed. Our note on how to check you are on the real PPSC website explains the address to look for, because fake sites copy result pages.

What to do after your name appears

Watch for the department's letter and keep your documents ready: degree, domicile, CNIC, experience letters and photographs. PPSC's notice does not list any further steps, and it does not give a joining date. Those come from the department.

If your name is missing, request your marks. Our guide on how to get your PPSC detailed marks certificate online explains the 30 day limit. Plan the next application early. The PPSC Advertisement 11/2026 closes on 26 October 2026.

Also be careful with the rules. Candidates who break them can be debarred, as our piece on how to avoid a PPSC ban shows.

Common questions

What does "recommended" mean on a PPSC notice?

It means PPSC has recommended the candidate to the Provincial Government for appointment. It is not an appointment letter, which comes from the department.

Where are PPSC final results published?

On ppsc.gop.pk under Results, Final Recommendations. That page shows results declared in the past one year, and older ones are in the archive.

What is the number before the slash on my row?

We read it as your merit position within the quota, and the long number as your application number. The notice itself labels the column only "Merit / App. No."

Why is the same post split into quotas?

The notice groups names under headings such as Open Merit, Women, Special Person and Minorities. Each heading is its own list of recommended candidates.

Does PPSC publish the full merit list?

PPSC has a separate page called Final Recommendations, Complete Merit List. We did not open the files on it, so we cannot describe their layout.

How long are results kept on the main page?

PPSC's page says it displays results declared within the past one year. Older results are in the archive.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the PPSC Final Recommendations page and seven notices on 12 October 2026, at ppsc.gop.pk. We did not read the Complete Merit List PDFs. PPSC does not explain the first column in words, so our reading of it may differ from PPSC's. Check your own post's notice on the day.
