UHS lists 34 private medical colleges and 18 private dental colleges or dental sections in Punjab for the 2026-27 MBBS and BDS session. Fifteen of the 34 medical colleges are in Lahore. Two of them, RYK Medical and Dental College and Watim Medical College, are on the list only under court orders and still subject to PM&DC approval.

You rank these colleges yourself on the UHS portal, and the order becomes final at the deadline, 6 November 2026 at 5:00 pm for MBBS. We read the University of Health Sciences (UHS) advertisement for private sector admissions on the UHS website on 27 October 2026. Below is every college by city, the two with conditions attached, and what to check before you put a college in your list.

Lahore has 15 of Punjab's 34 private medical colleges

The UHS list spreads 34 private medical colleges across 12 cities. Lahore leads with 15, then Faisalabad with 4. Rawalpindi, Multan, Sialkot, Sargodha and Kasur have two each, and five cities have one.

Two colleges are on the list only because of court orders

UHS marks two colleges with asterisks. RYK Medical and Dental College was allowed provisionally under a court order of 30 September 2026 in W.P. No. 4909/2026, subject to PM&DC and UHS approval. Watim Medical College was allowed under an order of 14 October 2026 in W.P. No. 5385/2026, subject to PM&DC approval.

Neither note says the college has lost or failed anything. They say admission there is conditional. If you rank either college high, understand that the condition belongs to the college, and that a later decision by the regulator could affect your seat. Ask the college in writing what happens to admitted students if approval does not come, and keep the reply.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) is the regulator that recognises colleges and caps their fees. Before paying any private college, read how the PM&DC tuition fee cap applies to it.

Eighteen dental colleges and sections take BDS students

For BDS, UHS lists 18 private dental colleges or dental sections of medical colleges. Nine are in Lahore. Rawalpindi and Multan have two each, and Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Lodhran one each. BDS applications open later, on 18 December.

Check five things before you rank a private college

UHS itself tells candidates to visit colleges in person or study their websites before choosing, because preferences cannot be changed after the deadline. Check fees, location, hospital, hostel and recognition status for every college you add, not only your first choice.

  1. Open the college's own website, given next to its name in the UHS advertisement, and note the yearly fee.
  2. Compare that fee with the PM&DC cap for the session.
  3. Find out which teaching hospital the college uses and how far it is from the campus.
  4. Ask about hostel seats and transport if you are moving cities.
  5. For RYK and Watim, ask in writing about the court-order condition.

There is no limit on how many colleges you can select, but you must pick at least one. UHS says you will not be considered for any college you leave out. Ranking only three colleges to "keep it simple" can leave a good merit score with no seat.

Five checks before ranking a private medical college in Punjab

Selection means a Rs 600,000 deposit within three working days

When your name appears on a private college merit list, UHS says you must deposit Rs 600,000 in its account within three working days. Miss it and the seat goes to the next candidate. The remaining fee is paid directly to the college.

The MBBS timetable runs from the provisional merit list on 13 November to the third selection list on 27 November, with classes from 1 February 2027. How the deposit works, and when you can still be upgraded to a college higher on your list, is set out in the Rs 600,000 UHS deposit. The full application steps are in private MBBS admission in Punjab 2026-27.

Eligibility is the same across all 34 colleges: an MDCAT pass with at least 55 per cent for MBBS or 50 per cent for BDS, at least 60 per cent in HSSC pre-medical, and a domicile from any district of Pakistan. Each college also has a 15 per cent quota for overseas Pakistanis and dual nationals.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the UHS advertisement "MBBS and BDS Admissions, Private Sector Medical and Dental Colleges in Punjab Session 2026-27", published on the UHS website with its private MBBS portal link, on 27 October 2026. City groupings and counts are ours. The advertisement does not name the court, and we did not read the two court orders themselves. We did not check each college's fee or recognition status on PM&DC's site.
