Check Punjab University BS Admission Eligibility: Age 24, 2 Marks Off Per Late Year, Rs 550 Fee
Punjab University BS admission 2026-27 needs age 24 or less for regular seats, cuts 2 marks per late year and charges a Rs 550 challan. Check your eligibility.

Short answer: For Punjab University BS admission in 2026-27, a regular programme needs FA, FSc or equivalent and an age of 24 or less on the form's closing date. Two marks are cut for each late year, up to five. The form challan is Rs 550. Self Supporting, Replica, Afternoon and Evening programmes have no age limit.
Picture two cousins in Lahore with the same FSc marks. One may be too old for a regular seat. The other may lose two marks for every year he waited. Both limits come from the university's own rules, and both sit in one document.
We read the university's admission guidelines for 2026-27 on its website on 12 October 2026. This guide turns them into a plain check you can run on yourself before the next round.
Check the age limit first: 24 for regular programmes, none for evening and self supporting
A BS 1st Semester applicant for a regular programme must not be more than 24 years old on the closing date of the online form. There is no age limit for Self Supporting, Replica, Afternoon and Evening programmes. For BS 5th Semester the limit is 26.
| Entry point | Qualification | Age limit, regular seats |
|---|---|---|
| BS 1st Semester | FA, FSc or equivalent | 24 years |
| BS 5th Semester | BA, BSc or Associate Degree, 14 years of education | 26 years |
| Self Supporting, Replica, Afternoon, Evening | Same as above | No age limit |

The age is counted on the closing date of the online form, not on the day you start classes. Check the closing date in the notice for your round.
Two marks are cut for every late session, up to five sessions
The university deducts two marks from your percentage for each late session, to a maximum of the previous five sessions. A late session is counted in annual exam pairs. A student with FSc from 2022 applying in 2026 is in the third or fourth late session, and loses six to eight marks.
| Late session | Exam years counted |
|---|---|
| 1st late session | 1st Annual 2025 and 2nd Annual 2024 |
| 2nd late session | 1st Annual 2024 and 2nd Annual 2023 |
| 3rd late session | 1st Annual 2023 and 2nd Annual 2022 |
| 4th late session | 1st Annual 2022 and 2nd Annual 2021 |
| 5th late session | 1st Annual 2021 and 2nd Annual 2020 |
Do the sum before you apply. Take your percentage in FA or FSc, find your exam year in the table, and subtract two for each late session. That gives your starting number for merit. The admission regulations book has the full formula.
The university publishes the merit of the previous year and a merit calculator on its admission pages. Use them to compare your adjusted number with last year's closing merit.
Engineering programmes need 60 per cent and an approved test
Engineering programmes need FSc Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, relevant DAE, ICS or A Level, with at least 60 per cent marks. You must also have appeared in an approved test, such as the UET ECAT, a Punjab University test or the NUST entry test.
The programmes named in the guidelines are chemical, energy, metallurgy and materials, industrial engineering and management, and electrical engineering. The age limit of 24 applies here as well.
The ECAT is run by UET Lahore, and its pattern and fee are in the ECAT test for UET Lahore. Pharmacy programmes also need 60 per cent, according to the sports quota section of the same guidelines.
You can apply provisionally while your Part II result is awaited
If you sat the Intermediate Part II exam in 2026 and your result is awaited, the university admits you provisionally on the Part I result of 2025. If you fail Part II, the admission is cancelled automatically.
After provisional admission and payment of dues, you must submit your Part II pass result card within the period the department sets. The same rule applies to BS 5th Semester applicants who wait for their Part II or Semester IV result.
To read your own result card, see how to check an HSSC result by roll number.
The form challan is Rs 550 and the seat quotas are small
The challan for the online form is Rs 550. It can be paid at HBL or UBL branches or by mobile banking through 1Bill. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. You must apply separately for each category and discipline.
Reserved seats are small. Two per cent go to sports and two per cent to co-curricular activities. Two per cent are for special persons in BS 1st and 5th Semester, and two per cent for religious minorities in BS 1st Semester. The sports route is explained in the sports quota seat at Punjab University.
Fifty per cent of BS 5th Semester seats are reserved for Punjab University graduates. The other fifty per cent go on open merit.
The second phase for vacant seats closed on 28 September
The university opened a second phase for vacant undergraduate seats from 8 September to 28 September 2026. It was first come, first served by the time the challan was generated. That portal has closed. The next round will have its own dates.
The university says it is not bound to give hostel rooms to all admitted students. Only a few newly admitted students will get a hostel place this year.
- Work out your age on the form's closing date.
- Subtract two marks for each late session from your percentage.
- Check the 60 per cent and test rule if you want engineering or pharmacy.
- Pick the category: morning, evening, replica, afternoon or self supporting.
- Pay the Rs 550 challan and submit the form online before the closing date.
