Dormant JazzCash, Easypaisa or UPaisa Account in Pakistan: How to Reactivate It, Fees and Time Limits (Every Wallet)

Reactivate a dormant JazzCash, Easypaisa or UPaisa wallet: when each goes dormant, from 90 days to 12 months, the call or deposit that fixes it, and idle fees.

A dormant Easypaisa account comes back to life when you deposit money into it. A dormant JazzCash account is reactivated by calling the helpline from your registered number, and works for 48 hours before it is restored in full. A dormant UPaisa wallet is reactivated by calling 7777 or 051-111-282-265. Each wallet goes dormant at a different point, from 90 days to 12 months, and two of them charge a monthly fee once it does.

Dormant means the account is still yours, with your balance inside, but the bank has frozen outgoing payments because nothing happened on it for a while. It is a fraud safeguard, not a penalty. We read the terms, FAQs and October to December 2026 schedules of charges of JazzCash, Easypaisa and UPaisa, plus SadaPay's help centre, on 31 October 2026. Here is when each one goes dormant, how to wake it up, and what it costs to leave it alone.

Each wallet goes dormant at a different time

Easypaisa marks an account dormant after 90 days with no activity. UPaisa treats a wallet as inactive after six months without new transactions. JazzCash classifies an account as dormant after 12 months inoperative, or sooner if your CNIC is not in its records as the State Bank requires.

UPaisa6 months with no new transactionsCall 7777 or 051-111-282-265Rs 50 a month after 12 idle months

The fee column is the one that hurts. A UPaisa wallet left untouched for two years loses Rs 600 in inactivity fees in its second year alone, by our arithmetic. One small transaction a year stops it.

When JazzCash, Easypaisa and UPaisa accounts become dormant and how to reactivate each

Easypaisa: deposit any amount and it is active again

Easypaisa's FAQ says an account turns dormant after 90 days without activity, to protect it from fraud. To make it active again you deposit money into it. That can be cash at an Easypaisa shop or a transfer from any bank or wallet, which is free to receive.

  1. Ask a family member to send a small amount to your Easypaisa number, or
  2. Deposit cash at any Easypaisa shop, found under Cashpoints in the app, or
  3. Send money from your own bank account to your Easypaisa number.
  4. Log in and check that outgoing payments work.

A bank transfer in is free, while cash deposit at an agent costs 0.5 per cent under the current schedule. So a Rs 100 transfer from a relative is the cheapest way back. If the app also refuses your PIN, the problem is a block, not dormancy, and the fix is different: see our page on recovering a blocked Easypaisa account.

JazzCash: one call, then a 48-hour provisional window

JazzCash's terms say the account holder must call the contact centre from their registered number. After verification the account is reactivated provisionally for 48 hours for financial transactions, and then permanently. While dormant, normal debits are blocked, but loan recoveries, bank charges and government levies can still be taken.

Call 4444 from your Jazz number, or 111-124-444 from another phone with the area code. Have your CNIC ready. Use the 48-hour window to make a transaction, because that is what keeps the account active.

JazzCash used to charge Rs 100 a month on accounts with no activity for 12 months. Its October to December 2026 schedule still listed that fee, but a memo dated October 2026, effective 12 October 2026, set the inactivity fee to zero. The background is in our report on JazzCash scrapping the inactivity fee. If you were charged after 12 October, raise it with the helpline.

Steps to reactivate a dormant JazzCash account by calling the helpline

UPaisa: call the helpline, and watch the Rs 50 fee

UPaisa's FAQ tells you to call 7777 from a Ufone number or 051-111-282-265 to reactivate a dormant wallet. Its terms say a wallet is inactive after six months without transactions, and the fourth quarter 2026 schedule charges Rs 50 a month once there has been no activity for 12 months.

UPaisa's terms also allow the bank to suspend or close a wallet left unused for a long period, after 30 days' notice by letter or SMS. So an SMS from UPaisa about inactivity is worth acting on. Each call to 7777 from Ufone costs Rs 2.25 plus tax under the schedule. The full UPaisa fee list is in our page on UPaisa charges for 2026.

After 10 years the money goes to the State Bank

Both JazzCash's and UPaisa's terms say a deposit left inoperative for ten years becomes an unclaimed deposit and is surrendered to the State Bank of Pakistan. The money is not lost. The account holder can still claim it later, through the bank or the State Bank.

That rule comes from the Banking Companies Ordinance 1962, which JazzCash's terms cite, and applies to bank accounts in the same way. If a parent has died and left money in a wallet, the bank will release it only on a succession certificate or court order, according to JazzCash's terms. The bank account side of dormancy is in our page on reactivating a dormant bank account.

SadaPay is different again. Its help centre says only that you should message the team through in-app chat to have your account reactivated.

Common questions

How do I know if my Easypaisa account is dormant?

Outgoing payments fail even though your PIN works and you have a balance. Easypaisa says any account with no activity for 90 days turns dormant. A deposit fixes it.

Do I lose my balance when a wallet goes dormant?

No. The balance stays in the account. Only outgoing transactions are blocked, and after ten years of no activity the money is moved to the State Bank, where it can still be claimed.

Does JazzCash still charge an inactivity fee?

Not since 12 October 2026. A JazzCash memo set the inactivity fee to zero from that date, replacing the Rs 100 a month in its quarterly schedule.

Can someone else reactivate my JazzCash account for me?

JazzCash's terms say the account holder must call from the registered number. Verification then happens on that call, so it has to be you.

Is a dormant account the same as a blocked account?

No. Dormant means inactive for too long. Blocked usually means too many wrong PIN attempts or a security hold, and is fixed by resetting the PIN. For JazzCash, see our page on recovering a blocked JazzCash account.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read the JazzCash terms and conditions, the JazzCash fourth quarter 2026 schedule and its addendum memo Inst./45/2026, the Easypaisa FAQ and October to December 2026 schedule, the UPaisa FAQ, terms and fourth quarter 2026 schedule, and SadaPay's help article on reactivation, on 31 October 2026. We did not reactivate an account ourselves, so how long each call takes is not confirmed. SadaPay publishes no dormancy period or fee.
