SNGPL Gas Connection for a Housing Society: Apply Online on RLNG, 9 Documents and Status Check
SNGPL takes housing society gas requests online, on RLNG at 100 per cent cost recovery. See the form, the 9 documents, rejection grounds and home charges.

A housing society in SNGPL's area applies for a gas network online on SNGPL's "Housing Society/Extension on RLNG" form, on a 100 per cent cost recovery basis, and then submits nine documents, including the development authority NOC and an AutoCAD layout plan, at SNGPL's regional office. The online form is free to fill. SNGPL only processes the request once every document has reached the regional office.
We read SNGPL's form and its declaration on 1 November 2026. It covers new societies and extensions of existing ones in Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The gas offered is RLNG, imported liquefied gas turned back into gas, not the cheaper local system gas.
SNGPL's housing society form is for RLNG at full cost
The form's full title is "Online Application for Housing Society/Extension On RLNG Against 100% Cost Recovery Basis". In plain words, the society asks SNGPL to lay a gas network on RLNG tariff and pays the full cost of doing so. SNGPL's page does not print that cost.
That answers a question many residents of new societies ask: why the developer cannot simply "get gas sanctioned". New gas for a whole society now comes on RLNG terms, and the developer has to apply and pay. If you have bought a plot and been promised gas, ask the developer for its SNGPL application status. The form carries a link, "Already Applied, Click here to Check Status", for exactly that.

What the online form asks for
SNGPL's form asks for the society's name and address, the owner's NTN and CNIC, the NOC registration number, the approving authority, the total approved area in kanals and marlas, whether it is new or an extension, and the number of plots by size.
| Form field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name of housing society, address where gas is required | As on the registration certificate |
| Province and city | Islamabad, Punjab, KPK, Gilgit Baltistan or Azad Jammu and Kashmir, then the city |
| Owner name, NTN, CNIC, cell number, email | For the owner or company |
| Registration No (NOC) | The development authority NOC number |
| Approved by | LDA, GDA, CDA, MDA, PDA, FDA, RDA, TMA, TMO or any other |
| Total approved area | In kanals and marlas |
| Housing society type | New or Extension |
| Number of plots | Residential up to 5 marla, up to 10 marla, 1 kanal and above |
| Authorized director or signatory | The person who will deal with SNGPL |
All fields marked with a star are compulsory. Location coordinates are optional but worth adding, because they help the regional office find the site quickly.
Nine documents go to SNGPL's regional office
After the online form, the society submits nine documents at the SNGPL regional office for its area. The form's declaration says the request is considered for further processing only after all of them are submitted, so an incomplete file simply waits.
- A request for the provision of RLNG on the society's letterhead.
- CNICs of all owners or directors.
- A letter of authority in favour of the signatory.
- NTN certificates of all owners or directors.
- The registration certificate of the housing society or colony.
- The NOC from the development authority.
- The approved layout plan or map.
- A soft copy of the layout plan in AutoCAD, in true scale.
- An undertaking on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs 100 confirming the line pipe and meter inside the society.
The AutoCAD file is the one that most often holds things up. A scanned or photographed map is not the same thing. Ask the society's planner for the true scale drawing before you start.

SNGPL can reject a request on three grounds
By submitting the form, the society accepts that SNGPL may disqualify the request if any information is untrue, if gas supply is not procedurally, technically or operationally feasible at the site, or if RLNG has not been allocated by the federal petroleum ministry.
| Ground for rejection | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Information contrary to facts | Wrong area, plot numbers or NOC details |
| Not feasible | No nearby main line, or pressure or capacity problems |
| No RLNG allocation | The ministry has not allocated RLNG for the request |
The second column is our reading of SNGPL's wording, not SNGPL's own explanation. The last ground is outside the society's control. A complete, accurate file is the part a developer can control.
Each home still needs its own RLNG connection
Once a society network exists, each house applies for its own domestic RLNG connection. SNGPL's current charges are a refundable security of Rs 20,000 and a service line cost of Rs 1,500 for houses up to 10 marla or Rs 3,000 above 10 marla. Applying is free.

SNGPL also offers a fast track for an urgent fee of Rs 25,000. The RLNG contract each household signs is explained in SNGPL's RLNG domestic gas contract. Before the meter is fitted, the house needs a gas line certificate from an approved contractor, covered in the SNGPL houseline certificate. Individual applications can be followed through tracking an SNGPL connection application.
If you live in Karachi or elsewhere in Sindh or Balochistan, SNGPL is not your company. SSGC's domestic RLNG terms are set out in applying for an SSGC RLNG connection.
Common questions
How does a housing society apply for SNGPL gas?
It fills SNGPL's online "Housing Society/Extension on RLNG" form and submits nine documents at the SNGPL regional office.
Is there a fee to apply?

Will a new society get system gas or RLNG?
RLNG. SNGPL's society form is only for RLNG supply.
Can an existing society apply to extend its gas network?
Yes. The form has a "Housing Society Type" choice of New or Extension.
How can residents check a society's application?
The form page has a "Check Status" link for societies that have already applied. Ask the developer for the details needed to use it.
Which areas does the SNGPL society form cover?

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read SNGPL's housing society application form, its document list and declaration, and the RLNG connection notice on SNGPL's home page on 1 November 2026. SNGPL's pages do not give the cost a society pays, how it is worked out or how long approval takes, and we could not find written guidance on those points. We did not submit an application.
