The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has fixed Saturday, 24 October 2026, for the screening test of the Combined Competitive Examination CCE-2026, the exam that fills PMS and other BPS-17 posts in the Sindh government. The date sits on SPSC's home page. The roll-number timetable with centres was not yet on the schedules page when we checked, so the practical rules below are taken from SPSC's own order for the last screening test, in June 2026.

We read the SPSC website on 19 October 2026. Its home page says the screening test for CCE-2026 "will be held on Saturday, 24-10-2026", and its advance public notice of 6 August 2026 had already placed the test in the second half of October, with the written part in December 2026. Candidates who applied in the September window and uploaded their documents should expect an admission slip on the candidate portal this week.

The date is confirmed as 24 October, the centres are not yet published

SPSC's home page carries the date, and that is the only CCE-2026 document on the site so far. The test and interview schedules page still lists the CCE-2025 screening timetable as its most recent entry. Until the CCE-2026 timetable appears, nobody can tell you your centre, and any message claiming to is not from SPSC.

Our earlier page on how to apply for PMS Sindh 2026 was written when the date was still "second half of October". It is now a fixed Saturday, five days away.

Last time the test was 200 MCQs in 200 minutes with 66 marks to pass

SPSC's timetable for the CCE-2025 screening test, held on 6 June 2026, printed the rules in a note. The test consisted of 200 multiple choice questions, each carrying one mark, with no negative marking. The time allowed was 200 minutes, three hours and twenty minutes. The qualifying threshold was 33 per cent, which is 66 marks.

Two rules in the same note decide more results than the syllabus does. No candidate is allowed in after the test begins, and no candidate may leave the hall until the test ends. Reporting time was 8:30 am at every centre. SPSC has used the same format for the CCE screening since it introduced it, so plan for it unless the CCE-2026 timetable says otherwise.

Sitting the screening test does not use up one of your attempts; only the written part counts, as our PMS Sindh guide explains from the syllabus document. A pass at 66 simply admits you to December.

Four cities hosted 27,275 candidates in June, which shows the scale

The June 2026 timetable spread CCE-2025 candidates across Hyderabad, Karachi, Sukkur and Larkana. Hyderabad had two zones at Public School Latifabad Unit 3 with 6,600 and 4,370 candidates. Karachi had 7,575 at Dow University's Ojha Campus. Sukkur had 5,610 at IBA Public School, and Larkana 3,120 at the Police Training School on Wagan Road. That is 27,275 candidates by our addition.

Roll numbers ran in blocks by city, from 328001 in Hyderabad to 355420 in Larkana, so your roll number tells you your city before the centre name does. Expect CCE-2026 to use the same four cities and a similar morning start. If you live outside them, book travel for Friday night rather than trusting a 6 am bus.

SPSC's office is at Thandi Sarak, Hyderabad, and every notice above carries that address. How the screening result is published afterwards, and where to find your roll number on it, is in our page on how to check an SPSC result.

Download the slip, carry the original CNIC and reach by 8:30 am

SPSC issues the admission slip on its candidate portal, not by post. The slip, an original CNIC and a ballpoint are the working minimum. Read the instructions printed on the slip for what is barred from the hall; phones are the usual exclusion. The June timetable put reporting at 8:30 am for a test that then ran 200 minutes, so a morning that starts at 8:30 ends past noon.

  1. Log in to the SPSC candidate portal and download the CCE-2026 screening admission slip as soon as it appears.
  2. Check the roll number, centre and reporting time on the slip against the timetable PDF when SPSC posts it.
  3. Carry the printed slip and your original CNIC; an expired CNIC should be renewed before the date because the centre checks it.
  4. Reach the centre before the reporting time; nobody is admitted after the test starts.
  5. Stay until the end; leaving early is not allowed.

Candidates whose documents were not uploaded by the closing date should read SPSC's rule on the portal before travelling; we set it out in the page on uploading to the SPSC candidate portal. A missing document does not stop you sitting the screening, but it can stop the written exam admission.

The December written part has its own rule on answer copies

For the written examination, SPSC issued a press release on 2 September 2026 that still applies: no supplementary or additional answer sheets are given under any circumstances, because the answer copy has been enlarged. Blank spaces and unused pages must be crossed through before the copy is handed in, and candidates are told to watch the instructional video on the SPSC site on filling the particulars sheet.

That notice was addressed to CCE-2025 candidates writing in August, but it describes the copy SPSC now uses, so CCE-2026 candidates who clear the screening should expect the same. SPSC also corrected a CCE-2025 screening result on 2 September, adding one candidate after an unfair-means charge was dropped, which is a reminder that the screening result list is final only once the corrigenda stop.

Common questions

When is the SPSC CCE-2026 screening test?

Saturday, 24 October 2026, according to the SPSC home page read on 19 October 2026. The centre-wise timetable had not been published at that point.

How many questions are in the CCE screening test?

The last screening test, in June 2026, had 200 multiple choice questions of one mark each, no negative marking, 200 minutes, and a pass mark of 33 per cent, which is 66 marks. SPSC has not announced a change for CCE-2026.

Where will the test be held?

SPSC has not posted the CCE-2026 centres yet. The June 2026 screening used Hyderabad, Karachi, Sukkur and Larkana.

What must I bring?

The admission slip printed from the SPSC candidate portal, your original CNIC and a ballpoint pen. Follow the slip's own list of barred items.

Can I arrive late?

No. SPSC's rule for the last screening test was that no candidate is admitted after the test starts, and nobody may leave before it ends. Reporting time was 8:30 am.

Does the screening test count as an attempt?

No. Under the syllabus document, only the written part counts as an attempt. The screening test decides who sits the written part in December.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 19 October 2026. The 24 October 2026 date comes from the home page of the Sindh Public Service Commission website, read on 19 October 2026. The August to December schedule comes from SPSC's advance public notice PSC/EXAM (C.S)/2026/154 of 6 August 2026. The 200-question format, 200 minutes, 66-mark threshold, 8:30 am reporting time, late-entry rule, centres and candidate numbers come from SPSC's CCE-2025 screening timetable PSC/EXAM (S.S)/2026/279 of 25 May 2026 on the test and interview schedules page; the 27,275 total is our addition. The answer-copy rule comes from SPSC's press release PSC/ADMN/2026/1702 of 2 September 2026, and the result correction from its corrigendum PSC/EXAM/(S.S)/2026/345 of the same date. We could not verify the CCE-2026 centres, roll-number ranges or candidate count, because SPSC had not published them.
