Track Your Sindh Number Plate Online: Requested, Printed or Handed Over
Track a new number plate in Sindh on the Excise website: pick four or two wheelers, enter the registration number and read the status in three stages.

Short answer: To track a new number plate in Sindh, open the Number Plate Checker on the Sindh Excise website, choose four wheelers or two wheelers, type the registration number, and read the status. It shows one of three stages: Requested, Printed or Handed Over. If it says Handed Over and you have no plate, call the Excise call centre.
You registered a new car or bike weeks ago and you still drive with a paper slip. The shop says the plate is "coming". Now you can look at the Excise record yourself, in one minute, from your phone.
We opened the Sindh Excise website on 13 October 2026 and read the Number Plate Checker page. We did not enter a real registration number, so we describe the inputs and the three stages, and not an actual result. The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department of Sindh runs the tool.
The checker shows three plate stages
The page says the checker tracks a plate through production. The status is Requested, Printed or Handed Over. Requested means the order is in. Printed means the plate is made. Handed Over means it has been given out.
| Status | What it means | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Requested | The plate has been ordered | Wait, and check again in a few days |
| Printed | The plate has been made | Ask the collection point when you can pick it up |
| Handed Over | The record shows it was given out | If you have no plate, call the call centre |

The second and third columns are our plain-language reading. The page names the stages but does not say how long each takes, and we did not find a stated time limit.
Check your plate in four steps
You need only the registration number. The page says to use the number exactly as it appears on the plate or your registration slip.
- Open the Number Plate Checker page on the Sindh Excise website.
- Choose the vehicle category: Four Wheelers or Two Wheelers.
- Type the registration number exactly as shown on the plate or slip.
- Complete the security check, then read the status shown.

The Excise department also has mobile apps for Android and iOS. Its site names the app as Excise Sindh. The number plate checker works on the website, and the apps are listed as extra access.
Know what to do at each result
If the result says Requested, you only need patience for now. If it says Printed, the plate exists and the next step is collection. If it says Handed Over and you do not hold the plate, act the same day, because someone else may have collected it.
If the tool shows no record, check the number for a typing mistake first. Then check the registration slip against your papers. Our guide to vehicle verification in all provinces shows how to confirm that a registration exists at all.

Keep your papers ready while you wait
Until the plate arrives, keep the registration slip, the invoice from the dealer and your CNIC in the vehicle. A traffic officer may ask for them. A paper slip is not the same as a plate, so avoid long trips if you can.
Do not pay a stranger who offers to "speed up" a plate. The page we read gives only one official route, the online checker and the call centre. If a dealer holds your plate, ask the dealer for the date it was handed over and compare it with the Excise record.
If you bought a used vehicle, the plate may already exist. In that case the transfer is the job to finish, not the plate.
Call Excise when the status does not match reality
The Sindh Excise website lists a 24 hour call centre. Call it with your registration number, your CNIC and the date you registered the vehicle.
- Call centre: (021) 111 374 634, open 24 hours
- Website: excise.gos.pk
Keep a screenshot of the status page with the date. A screenshot gives the call centre something to look at. If the plate is lost after collection, ask Excise what steps apply, because the page we read does not say.
If you want a special number, that is a different process. See how to get a premium number plate in Sindh. For other vehicle tasks, read the steps to transfer vehicle ownership in Sindh and the guide to paying Sindh vehicle tax online.
Common questions
Is the Sindh number plate checker free?
The page we read shows no fee. It is an online record check on the Excise website.
What are the three statuses?
Requested, Printed and Handed Over. They show how far your plate has moved from order to delivery.
How long does a plate take to print?
We could not find a stated time on the Excise page. Ask the call centre, and note the answer.
Does it work for motorcycles?
Yes. The page lets you choose Two Wheelers as well as Four Wheelers.
What if the status is Handed Over and I never got the plate?
Call (021) 111 374 634 the same day with your registration number and CNIC, and keep a screenshot of the status.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 13 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the Number Plate Checker page and the Sindh Excise home page. We did not run a search on a real vehicle. We did not verify how long each stage takes or what happens to a lost plate.
