UAE Visit Visa Overstay Fine for Pakistanis: AED 50 a Day, and How to Pay
The UAE overstay fine is AED 50 a day on visit and tourist visas. How Pakistanis can check a fine on ICP or GDRFA, pay it, extend in time and avoid a ban.
The UAE fine for staying past your visit or tourist visa is AED 50 for every day, according to the federal immigration authority's own fine payment service. Check your visa and any fine on the ICP or GDRFA Dubai websites, pay it online, and leave or fix your status before the airport.
We read the rate on the service page of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, known as ICP. It lists "expiry of permitted stay" at 50 dirhams a day. For a Pakistani visitor who stays two weeks too long, that is AED 700 before any other charge.
A lot of people plan on a few free days after expiry. That is the risky part. Reports say the old grace period for visitors has gone and fines start the day after your visa ends. We could not find a UAE government page that confirms or denies this, so the safe plan is simple: treat the first day after expiry as a fined day.
UAE overstay fines are AED 50 a day
ICP charges AED 50 for each day a foreigner stays beyond the permitted period, the same line that covers expired entry visas and residence permits. Its online payment service also lists a AED 100 smart services fee and warns of a AED 2,000 charge for misusing the service.

The totals are our arithmetic on the ICP rate. They assume the fine counts from the first day after expiry, which is the cautious reading. Other charges, such as the service fee, come on top.
The grace period for visitors is not confirmed anywhere official
Reports say visit and tourist visas no longer get any free days after expiry. We found no ICP or GDRFA Dubai page stating a visitor grace period, or saying one was removed. Plan as if there is none.
GDRFA Dubai's legal awareness page says a fine is charged "for every day you overstay illegally", and that you should leave when your visa expires. It mentions leaving "within the grace period", but that line sits beside advice on residence permits, not visit visas.
How to check your UAE visa status and fine online
Use GDRFA Dubai's fines inquiry if your visa was issued in Dubai, and the ICP smart services website or app for the other emirates. You need your passport number, nationality and date of birth. ICP asks you to log in with UAE Pass.
- Find which emirate issued your visa. It is printed on the visa copy your agent or sponsor sent you.
- For a Dubai visa, open the GDRFA Dubai fines inquiry. Choose passport number, then enter your nationality as Pakistan, file type, date of birth and gender.
- For any other emirate, sign in to ICP smart services with UAE Pass and open the violation fine service.
- Check the expiry date against today, and note any fine shown on your file.
- Screenshot the result. It helps if the airport counter shows something different.

How to pay a UAE overstay fine
Pay through ICP's "Payment of visa or residence violation fine" service on its website or app, or at a customer happiness centre. ICP says no documents are needed. After paying, you must either fix your status or leave the UAE.
The ICP fine payment service runs in three steps: submit the request, review the form, then pay. It is open 24 hours online.
Paying the fine does not extend your stay. That surprises people. It only clears the money owed, and ICP's terms say the person must then adjust their status or depart.
Extend your visit visa before it expires, not after
Most visit visas can be extended from inside the UAE before expiry. GDRFA Dubai lists AED 600 plus 5 per cent VAT for a tourist visa extension, plus AED 520 more if you are inside the country. Total stay is capped at 120 days for tourism.

The AED 520 is GDRFA's "inside the country" fee of AED 500 plus AED 10 each for the Knowledge and Innovation Dirhams. Fees can differ with your case, as both authorities note. The extension is filed by your sponsor or the tourism company that issued your visa, not by you, so speak to them at least a week before expiry.
ICP also says some visas cannot be extended at all, including some 60 day visas for certain nationalities.
What happens at the airport if you overstayed
An unpaid fine shows up on your file when you try to leave. Expect to pay it before you can board, so settle it online first. Arriving at the airport with an open fine on a short connection is how people miss flights.
A long overstay is more serious than a bill. GDRFA Dubai warns that breaking residence rules can lead to deportation. Reports also describe entry bans for long overstays and absconding cases. We did not find an official page setting out when a ban applies, so we cannot give a day count.
Absconding cases carry the biggest risk
An absconding report means your sponsor has told the authorities you left their sponsorship. GDRFA Dubai tells sponsors to report within 10 days. It also fines false reports AED 5,000, so a wrong report can be challenged.
This mostly hits people who came on a visit visa and started working. A visit visa is not a work permit, and UAE visit visas for Pakistanis are already refused often enough without an overstay on your record. Anyone offering you a job on a visit visa should be checked first, through a licensed overseas employment promoter check, and the legal route runs through the Protector of Emigrants.
