Rows of empty computer desks in a quiet exam lab, for the VU Fall 2026 mid-term and final term exam dates

VU mid-term exams for Fall 2026 start on Monday 7 December 2026, final term exams start on Monday 25 January 2027, and the final result is due on Thursday 25 February 2027. These dates are from the Virtual University of Pakistan's own Fall 2026 academic calendar, which we read on 6 November 2026. Your exact paper days come later, on your VU date sheet.

That gives you about 31 days from today to the first mid-term paper. It sounds like plenty. For a working student with five courses, it is about six weeks of lectures to catch up on, so the planning starts now.

VU Fall 2026 mid-terms start on 7 December

The Virtual University (VU) academic calendar lists the Fall 2026 mid-term exam start as Monday 7 December 2026. VU sets each student's paper days and centre separately, so 7 December is the start of the exam period, not necessarily the day of your first paper.

VU runs its exams at its own campuses and partner centres across Pakistan, on computers. Mid-terms usually cover the first half of each course's lectures. Check each course's announcement on the LMS for the exact lecture range, because teachers set it, not the calendar.

Final term exams start on 25 January 2027

VU's calendar puts the start of Fall 2026 final term exams on Monday 25 January 2027. That is seven weeks after mid-terms begin, with the 25 December holiday in between. The final result is scheduled for Thursday 25 February 2027.

The gap between the two exam periods is where most of the marks are won. Assignments, graded discussions and quizzes keep running after mid-terms. Students who stop logging in after their mid-term papers often lose more marks there than in the papers themselves.

VU also adds a note at the foot of the calendar: dates marked with an asterisk depend on the moon, and the university can change the calendar if needed. None of the exam dates is marked as moon dependent.

Days between VU Fall 2026 milestones: 31 days to mid-terms from 6 November, 49 days from mid-terms to finals, 31 days to the result

How to get your VU date sheet and exam centre

Your paper days and exam centre appear in your VU student account on the LMS once VU publishes the schedule. The calendar does not give individual paper dates, so do not trust a "VU date sheet" image shared on WhatsApp before VU posts it.

Here is the routine we would follow in the weeks before 7 December:

  1. Log in to the VU LMS with your own student ID, at vu.edu.pk.
  2. Read the announcements on each course page for the mid-term lecture range.
  3. Check that your fee is cleared, since an unpaid instalment can block exam access.
  4. Check the exam centre shown in your account, and ask for a change early if it is wrong.
  5. Download or note your date sheet as soon as VU publishes it, with the paper times.

Step 3 needs a closer look. The first instalment of the Fall 2026 fee was due on 5 November. If you missed it, clear it now rather than in the week of the exam. VU's own policy on blocked exams is set out in its fee rules, which we did not re-read today, so treat this as a precaution rather than a quoted rule.

VU portals are closed this weekend

All VU portals, including the LMS, are closed for maintenance from 11:30 pm on Friday 6 November to 11:59 pm on Sunday 8 November 2026. Any planning that needs the LMS has to wait until Monday 9 November, or be done before tonight's shutdown.

The VU maintenance notice for 6 to 8 November covers every online service. It does not mention exams, and the calendar has not changed. It is a reason to download handouts tonight if you plan to study over the weekend.

A study plan that fits the 31 days

Thirty-one days from 6 November to 7 December is enough for a steady plan, not a cram. Split the mid-term lectures across four weeks and keep the last week for past quizzes and revision.

WeekDatesFocus
19 to 15 NovemberCatch up on missed lectures in every course
216 to 22 NovemberHandouts for the first half of each course, with notes
323 to 29 NovemberQuizzes and assignment topics, weak courses first
430 November to 6 DecemberRevision, short notes, and the exam centre route

Read the handouts, not only the slides, because the handouts carry the full detail of each lecture. Ask each course teacher on the LMS what format the mid-term paper takes, rather than relying on a senior's memory of an old semester. And do the route to your centre once before exam day if it is a new one for you.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 6 November 2026, about 3:30 pm PKT. All dates are from the VU academic calendar for Fall 2026 on the Virtual University of Pakistan website. The maintenance window is from VU's notice of 6 November 2026. The day counts and the study plan are our own.
