Zong WiFi calling (VoWiFi) has no dial code: you turn it on in your phone's settings under Wi-Fi Calling, and Zong charges the call like a normal call from your package, with no extra fee. The catch is the phone. Zong's own compatible list on 28 October 2026 named 38 models from four brands: Infinix, Tecno, Xiaomi and DCode.

Below is the full list, the settings path, what changes on your bill, and what to do when the Wi-Fi Calling switch is missing. We read Zong's VoWiFi page and its compatible handset list on 28 October 2026.

Zong WiFi calling turns on from phone settings, not a code

Zong does not publish a USSD code for WiFi calling. Its FAQ says no app is needed either. You open Settings, go to Mobile Network or Connections, find Wi-Fi Calling and switch it on. Your phone and SIM must both be compatible.

People search for a "Zong WiFi calling activation code" because Ufone has one. Zong does not. If a shop or a message gives you a code for it, ask 310 before you dial anything.

  1. Connect your phone to a stable Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Tap Mobile Network or Connections (the name depends on the brand).
  4. Tap Wi-Fi Calling and turn it On.
  5. If your phone has two SIMs, make sure the switch is on for the Zong SIM.
  6. Make a test call. Many phones show "Wi-Fi" or a small Wi-Fi icon next to the network name.

Zong lists 38 WiFi calling phones from four brands

Zong's VoWiFi capable smartphones page listed 38 models on 28 October 2026: 17 Infinix, 11 Xiaomi and Redmi, 6 DCode and 4 Tecno. These are mostly budget and mid-range phones sold in Pakistan.

BrandModels on Zong's VoWiFi list
Infinix (17)GT 20 Pro, Hot 30, Hot 30 Play NFC, Hot 40, Hot 40 Pro, Hot 50, Hot 50i, Hot 50 Pro, Hot 50 Pro+, Note 40, Note 40 Pro 4G, Smart 8 HD, Smart 8 Plus, Smart 9, Smart 9 HD, Zero 30 4G, Zero 30 5G
Xiaomi and Redmi (11)Xiaomi 13T, 13T Pro, 14T, 14T Pro, Redmi Note 13, Note 13 5G, Note 13 Pro+ 5G, Note 14, Note 14 Pro, Note 14 Pro+ 5G, Redmi 14C
DCode (6)Cygnal 3 Lite, Cygnal 4 Lite, DS-BD3, DS-BD3 Pro, DS-CL3, DS-CL3 Pro
Tecno (4)Camon 30, Camon 30s, Spark 10 Pro, Spark Go 2024

There is one gap worth knowing. Zong's FAQ says most modern phones support VoWiFi, "including Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi". But the compatible list itself names no Samsung, Apple or Huawei model. So an iPhone or Galaxy owner cannot confirm Zong support from the list alone. Try the settings switch, and ask 310 if it is missing.

WiFi calls on Zong cost the same as normal calls

Zong says VoWiFi calls and SMS are charged like regular calls and SMS under your current package or plan. There is no extra charge for using Wi-Fi. Your number stays the same, and the person you call sees your normal Zong number.

Your Wi-Fi data is used, so on a limited home connection the call uses a small amount of it. Zong does not publish a data figure per minute. On an unlimited fibre line, this does not matter.

  • Call price: same as a normal call, from your bundle minutes first.
  • SMS: also works over Wi-Fi, charged as normal.
  • App needed: none, it uses the phone's own dialler.
  • Security: Zong says VoWiFi calls are encrypted like regular calls.

WiFi calling helps most in basements and high floors

Zong names three places where VoWiFi helps: rooms with low or no indoor signal, such as basements and thick-walled buildings; upper floors of high-rise buildings; and times when the mobile network is congested, such as large events or emergencies.

Zong also says VoWiFi works even when the mobile signal is completely absent, as long as the Wi-Fi is stable. That makes it useful in a flat where Zong shows one bar. PTA gives similar advice in its note on poor call quality indoors.

Calls can drop when you walk out of Wi-Fi range

A WiFi call may drop when you leave the Wi-Fi area, unless your phone can hand the call over to VoLTE. Zong says the experience depends on the device. So stay near the router for long calls, or turn VoLTE on as well.

Zong's VoLTE page says VoLTE is free, works for prepaid and postpaid, and must be enabled on the phone under Settings, Mobile Networks, VoLTE. With both on, a call started on Wi-Fi has a better chance of moving to 4G. The 4G SIM and VoLTE check shows how to confirm your SIM is 4G first.

When the Wi-Fi Calling switch is missing

If you cannot find Wi-Fi Calling in settings, the phone or its software is the usual reason. Check these in order before calling Zong.

  • Model: compare your exact model with the table above.
  • Software: update the phone. The option often arrives in an update.
  • SIM: use a 4G Zong SIM. An old 3G SIM will not work.
  • Dual SIM: some phones show the option for one SIM slot only. Try the Zong SIM in slot 1.
  • Help: call 310 from your Zong number. The Zong helpline numbers list the other routes.

Jazz and Ufone run their own lists, and they differ. Compare with Jazz WiFi calling phones and the Ufone WiFi calling code if you are thinking of switching.

Common questions

Is there a Zong WiFi calling activation code?

No. Zong does not publish one. You switch Wi-Fi Calling on in your phone's settings.

Does Zong charge extra for WiFi calling?

No. Zong says calls and SMS over Wi-Fi are charged like normal calls and SMS from your package.

Does Zong WiFi calling work on iPhone?

Zong's FAQ says Apple phones generally support VoWiFi, but its compatible list names no iPhone. Check for the Wi-Fi Calling switch in Settings after updating iOS, and ask 310 if it is missing.

Can I use Zong WiFi calling with no signal at all?

Yes. Zong says it works when the mobile signal is weak or absent, as long as you are on a stable Wi-Fi connection.

Will people see a different number when I call over Wi-Fi?

No. Zong says your number stays the same. Wi-Fi is only the route the call takes.

Does Zong WiFi calling work abroad?

Zong's VoWiFi page does not say. Jazz says its own VoWiFi does not work on international roaming, so do not rely on Zong's for calls abroad until Zong confirms it.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read Zong's VoWiFi page and FAQ, its VoWiFi capable smartphones list and its VoLTE page on zong.com.pk on 28 October 2026, and counted the 38 handset rows ourselves. We did not make a test call. We could not confirm whether iPhones or Samsung phones get Zong VoWiFi, because Zong's FAQ and its list disagree on that point, and Zong's page says nothing about roaming.
