Zong now lists Z HomeFi, a 5G home internet service that runs on a plug-in router instead of a fibre line. The router costs Rs 22,000 once, and the monthly bundles run from Rs 4,500 for 100 GB at up to 10 Mbps to Rs 11,000 for 500 GB at up to 50 Mbps. Prices include tax. You order at a Zong Customer Service Centre.

Reports on 8 October 2026 described it as the first 5G home broadband launch in Pakistan. We could not confirm that "first" claim on Zong's own page, so we leave it as reported. What we did read is the full price list and the order steps on Zong's Z HomeFi page.

Z HomeFi uses Zong's 5G network instead of a cable

Z HomeFi is a 5G Fixed Wireless Access service. It sends 5G signal from a nearby Zong tower to a router in your home or small office. You insert a SIM, switch the router on and connect your phones and laptops by Wi-Fi.

Zong's page says the router, called a 5G Indoor CPE (customer premises equipment, meaning the box that stays at your address), supports Wi-Fi 6 on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. It has one gigabit Ethernet port and a nano-SIM slot. Zong says it can connect up to 64 users on a single band. It comes with a two year warranty.

Speeds are "up to" figures. Zong's page says the packages offer speeds up to the stated limit, so a 10 Mbps bundle is a ceiling, not a promise. Real speed depends on your signal.

Twelve monthly bundles cost Rs 4,500 to Rs 11,000

Zong sells twelve bundles in three data sizes: 100 GB, 250 GB and 500 GB. Each comes in four speeds, from 10 Mbps to 50 Mbps. All have monthly validity, and the prices include 19.5 per cent GST and 15 per cent advance income tax, as Zong states.

Speed (up to)100 GB250 GB500 GB
10 MbpsRs 4,500Rs 5,500Rs 7,500
20 MbpsRs 5,500Rs 6,500Rs 8,500
30 MbpsRs 6,000Rs 7,500Rs 10,000
50 MbpsRs 7,500Rs 9,000Rs 11,000

The router is a separate Rs 22,000, including tax. So the cheapest start is Rs 26,500 in the first month: Rs 22,000 for the router and Rs 4,500 for the smallest bundle. The dearest start is Rs 33,000. That sum is our own arithmetic from Zong's prices.

You must order at a Zong centre and pass a coverage check

There is no online order on the page we read. Zong says you place the order at a Customer Service Centre. The staff check your address against Zong's 5G fixed wireless coverage list, then confirm the order after a fingerprint check, called BVS.

  1. Choose a bundle that fits your use.
  2. Visit a Zong Customer Service Centre with your CNIC and place the order.
  3. Wait while staff check your address against the 5G coverage list.
  4. Pass the fingerprint (BVS) check so the order is confirmed.
  5. Pay the router price and the first bundle at the centre.
  6. Insert the SIM, power on the router and connect your devices.
The steps to order Zong Z HomeFi 5G home internet at a Customer Service Centre in Pakistan

Zong's page says Z HomeFi is available in selected cities only. Reports named the top ten cities, but the page we read shows a city picker and we did not see a full list. Check the address before you pay anything. If your phone also needs to use 5G, see how to check if your phone supports 5G.

Compare the monthly cost with fibre before you switch

A fibre line needs a cable at your address. Z HomeFi has caps of 100 GB to 500 GB, so heavy streaming or large downloads can finish a bundle early. We did not test Z HomeFi speeds, so we cannot say how it compares in real use.

If fibre reaches your street, compare the price lists in the PTCL, Nayatel and StormFiber comparison first. Z HomeFi suits homes that fibre does not reach, rented rooms where you cannot drill, and short stays. Wherever the router sits, placement matters, and the tips on where to put a Wi-Fi router apply here too.

On where 5G itself is live, the list of 5G service areas for Jazz and Zong shows the cities each network covers. If a service problem comes up later, the steps to complain to PTA about slow internet work after you have tried Zong's own complaint line.

Common questions about Zong Z HomeFi

How much does Zong Z HomeFi cost per month?

Bundles cost Rs 4,500 to Rs 11,000 a month, including taxes. The price depends on speed (10 to 50 Mbps) and data (100, 250 or 500 GB), as listed on Zong's page.

How much is the Z HomeFi router?

The 5G indoor router costs Rs 22,000 including tax, as a one time payment. Zong's page lists a two year warranty with it.

Do I need a Zong SIM already?

Zong's page does not say you need an existing SIM. The router takes a nano-SIM that you receive when you order. Ask the centre what SIM comes in the box before you pay.

Can I order Z HomeFi online?

Not on the page we read. Zong says orders are placed at its Customer Service Centres. It may add more channels later, so check the page again.

Is the speed on the bundle guaranteed?

No. Zong says the packages offer speeds up to the stated limit. Your real speed depends on signal strength and how many people share the tower.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 8 October 2026. Prices, router details, tax rates and order steps come from Zong's Z HomeFi pages at zong.com.pk, which we read on 8 October 2026. The launch date and the "first in Pakistan" description come from press reports of 8 October and are not confirmed on Zong's page. We have not tested the service or its speeds, and we did not find a full city list. Check the current price on Zong's page before you order.
