How to Get Paid by Google AdSense in Pakistan

AdSense pays into Pakistan by wire transfer, and only once you clear the threshold. Reported figures are a 100 dollar payment threshold, with an address verification PIN posted to you earlier, once earnings reach about 10 dollars. Until both are dealt with, money accumulates in the account and does not move.

This matters to more people than website owners. YouTube earnings are paid through AdSense too, so a creator who never sets this up correctly can be earning and still not be paid.

Two gates, in this order

Do all three early rather than when the money arrives. The PIN travels by ordinary post to the address on your account, and Pakistani postal delivery to an incomplete or informal address is exactly the sort of thing that quietly loses months.

Getting the address right

Write the address the way your postman would need it, not the way a form expects it. House and street numbers, the sector or block, the town, the city and the postal code. If your area is better known by a landmark than by a street name, include it.

1. Check the address on your AdSense account before earnings reach the PIN trigger.
2. Use an address where post is actually received and someone is present.
3. Include the postal code, which is often the part people leave out.
4. Watch for the PIN and enter it in the account when it arrives.
5. Request a reissue through the account if it does not come.

Google allows a limited number of PIN reissues, so treat each one as a real attempt rather than a formality. If post is unreliable where you live, use a workplace or a relative's address where delivery is dependable, provided you can genuinely receive mail there.

Setting up the wire transfer

Wire transfer is reported as the only payment option available in Pakistan, so this is not a choice between methods. What you need from your bank is the account title exactly as the bank holds it, the account number, the bank name, the branch address and the SWIFT code.

Get those from the bank rather than from a search result, because a wrong SWIFT code sends a payment nowhere useful and reversing it is slow. The name on the AdSense account and the name on the bank account should match, since a mismatch is a common reason a transfer is rejected.

What the bank takes, and what Google does not

Google is reported not to charge a fee for the wire itself. That is not the same as the full amount arriving. Your bank may apply a receiving charge, and the conversion from dollars into rupees happens at the bank's rate rather than the interbank rate you see quoted online.

Ask your bank two questions before your first payment: what it charges to receive an inbound wire, and what conversion rate it applies. The difference between banks on a regular monthly payment is worth knowing about in advance.

Timing is reported as up to about fifteen business days for a wire to arrive. Do not treat a payment as missing in the first week.

Declare it

Common failure points

Accounts get held up for a small number of recurring reasons. The address on the account does not receive post. The PIN was never entered. The name on the bank account differs from the name on the AdSense account. The account is in someone else's name entirely, which creates a problem far larger than a delayed payment.

Keep the account in your own name, with your own bank details and your own address. If a card or account attached to this ever goes missing, block it immediately rather than waiting. Convenience arrangements with a friend or relative are the origin of most of the situations where somebody cannot get their own money out.
