How to Apply for a CDA Community Market Stall in Islamabad: Form, Documents and Rules
Apply for a CDA Community Market vendor stall in Islamabad: what you can sell, the CNIC and photo files the form asks for, and why a form does not ensure one.

Short answer: To sell at the CDA Community Market in Islamabad, fill in the vendor registration form on the Capital Development Authority website. You need your CNIC number and a CNIC scan, your photo, your business name and type, a social media page link and photos of your products. A form does not guarantee a stall.
A university student in Islamabad bakes cookies at home. A woman in Rawalpindi makes embroidered cushions. Neither has a shop, and a regular market stall is out of reach. The CDA Community Market was built for people like them. We opened the vendor application on the CDA website on 12 October 2026 and read the rules and every field on it.
What the CDA Community Market is
The CDA describes it as an official community market that promotes local entrepreneurship, youth participation and community engagement in Islamabad. The authority plans, supervises and regulates it. A partner organisation helps with running events and outreach, but ownership and branding stay with CDA.
It is meant for three groups: universities and educational institutions, students and young entrepreneurs, and local artisans and small businesses. The aim is a safe, regulated and family-friendly place to sell locally produced, handmade, organic and homemade goods.
The form says clearly that CDA alone decides allotment, continuation and cancellation. Treat a submitted form as a request, not a booking.
What you can and cannot sell
The eligibility rule is short. Only locally produced, handmade, organic or homemade products are allowed. Mass-produced and imported items are strictly prohibited.
| Product type | Allowed under the CDA rule? |
|---|---|
| Home-baked cakes or biscuits | Yes, homemade |
| Handmade jewellery or crafts | Yes, handmade |
| Organic produce or plants | Yes, organic or locally grown |
| Paintings and art | Yes, if you made them |
| Imported goods or factory branded stock | No, prohibited |
The business type list on the form has nine options: food and beverages, handmade crafts, organic products, clothing and textiles, art and paintings, jewellery and accessories, home decor, plants and gardening, and other.

The documents and details the form asks for
Every starred field is compulsory. The CNIC number must follow the pattern XXXXX-XXXXXXX-X. Files can be PDF, JPG, JPEG or PNG, up to 5 MB each.
- Vendor name, email address and phone number.
- CNIC number and a CNIC file.
- A photo of yourself.
- Business name and business type.
- A business social media page link, used to verify your business, such as a Facebook or Instagram page.
- Photos of your products, with several files allowed.
- Optional: whether you have joined other events before, and how you heard about the market.
The social media link is the field people forget. CDA says it is required to verify the business, so set up a simple page with clear product photos before you apply.

How to apply
- Prepare a scan of your CNIC and a clear photo of yourself, each under 5 MB.
- Photograph your products in good light, one file per product line.
- Create or tidy a business page that shows your work.
- Open the vendor application page on the CDA website and fill in every starred field.
- Upload the files and submit the form.
- Wait for CDA to scrutinise the application. The form does not state a time.

The form does not state a stall fee, market dates or locations, and we found no separate page that does. Ask CDA on 051-9252573 or at contactus@cda.gov.pk, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
What to know before you rely on it
CDA says false or incomplete information can lead to rejection or cancellation without notice, and all stalls fall under its supervision, municipal rules, and cleanliness and safety standards. If you sell food, keep hygiene tight, since the stall remains subject to those standards.
A market stall is not a licence to trade anywhere in Islamabad. A permanent street seller needs a different permission, as explained in how a street vendor gets a legal licence in Pakistan. If your business has a fixed premises, the local council steps are in the trade licence and business registration guide.
Other CDA services run through its online channels, such as bill payment, covered in paying CDA property tax and water bills online. The wider list of CDA services on a phone is in CDA and MCI services on the Pak app.

How we verified this

We read the Vendor Registration Application page on the Capital Development Authority website on 12 October 2026. No stall fee, market date or location was given there, so confirm them with CDA.
