The Asian Games 2026 closing ceremony is on Sunday 4 October at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Japan. It starts at 6:00 pm Japan time, which is 2:00 pm in Pakistan. The organisers say it ends at about 7:30 pm in Japan, or 3:30 pm in Pakistan.

We read the timings on the organising committee's visitor page and in an Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) news release. Both give the same start time. Japan is four hours ahead of Pakistan, so every Japan time in this article has four hours taken off for Pakistan Standard Time (PKT).

The ceremony ends the 20th Asian Games, which began on 19 September in Aichi and Nagoya. Pakistan goes into the last weekend with 7 medals, and three more medal matches on Saturday 3 October.

The closing ceremony starts at 2:00 pm Pakistan time on 4 October

The Asian Games closing ceremony time is 6:00 pm Japan time on Sunday 4 October 2026, which is 2:00 pm PKT. A warm-up show starts two hours earlier, at 12:00 noon PKT. The OCA says the ceremony is scheduled to end at 7:30 pm Japan time, so about 3:30 pm PKT.

So in Pakistan this is an afternoon event on a Sunday. Most people will be home, which helps. If you only want the main show, 2:00 pm is the time to remember.

Asian Games 2026 closing ceremony timings in Japan time and Pakistan time on 4 October

The warm-up show is led by MYERA, a Japanese girl group that are official supporters of the Games, the OCA said on 29 September. Nagoya-born singer Masaya Kimura and a team from Nippon Sport Science University are also on the bill.

The venue is Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Nagoya

The closing ceremony is held at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium, the same stadium that hosted the opening ceremony on 19 September. It also hosted athletics, including the men's javelin final in which Arshad Nadeem competed for Pakistan.

The organisers have set strict rules for people with tickets. Re-entry is not allowed at the ceremony. Entry must be finished by 4:30 pm Japan time, and the OCA says entry is restricted from 4:30 pm to 5:40 pm for security. After the show, spectators stay seated and leave in stages from about 7:30 pm.

Pakistani fans in Japan should note one more point. The organisers ask visitors not to come by car, because there are traffic restrictions around the stadium for the ceremony. Public transport is the safer plan.

Pakistan's run at the stadium was short but memorable. Arshad finished fourth in the javelin final at Mizuho Park on 28 September.

No Pakistani broadcaster has confirmed the closing ceremony

We could not find any official page that confirms the closing ceremony will be shown live in Pakistan. PTV Sports and the Tamasha app have both been reported as carrying the Games, but neither PTV nor Jazz has published that on its own website, so treat it as reported.

Steps to follow the Asian Games 2026 closing ceremony from Pakistan on 4 October

Here is what we checked on 3 October. PTV's website, ptv.com.pk, returned an access error, which is a bot block, not proof of anything. Jazz's media centre lists cricket rights releases but no Asian Games release. The OCA's own website links to an Asian Games streaming hub, but it does not say which countries can watch it, and we could not test that from here.

So the honest answer is this. Check the PTV Sports TV listing on Sunday morning. The full broadcast picture for the Games, with the reported routes and their limits, is in the Asian Games 2026 watch schedule. We do not list or link any unofficial stream.

Here is a simple plan for Sunday:

  1. Note the time: warm-up from 12:00 noon PKT, the ceremony from 2:00 pm PKT.
  2. Check the PTV Sports TV guide on Sunday morning for a live listing.
  3. If you use Tamasha, open the app before 2:00 pm and look for an Asian Games channel.
  4. Follow the OCA and the organisers' official social media accounts for photos and clips.
  5. Skip unknown streaming links, which often carry malware or ask for card details.

The Pakistan Olympic Association has not named a closing ceremony flag bearer

The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) had not named Pakistan's flag bearer for the closing ceremony on its website when we checked early on 3 October. Its latest post on nocpakistan.org was from May 2026, about the Asian Beach Games. We will not guess a name.

At the opening ceremony on 19 September, women's cricket captain Fatima Sana and squash player Noor Zaman were reported to have carried the flag. The POA did not post that on its website either, so it also stays reported.

Flag bearers at a closing ceremony are often medal winners. Pakistan has several candidates this time, from the squash silver team to shooter Ghulam Mustafa Bashir. But that is only our observation. The choice belongs to the POA.

Doha 2030 is the next Asian Games host

The 21st Asian Games will be held in Doha, Qatar, in 2030, according to the OCA's own Games page. Asian Games closing ceremonies normally include a handover to the next host city. The organisers have not published Sunday's full running order, so we cannot say exactly how the handover will look.

The OCA page lists 45 National Olympic Committees for Doha 2030, including Pakistan. Doha last hosted the Games in 2006.

There is a small Pakistani thread here too. The OCA's coordination committee for Doha 2030 is chaired by FIH President Mohammad Tayyab Ikram. The FIH describes him as a former Pakistan and China hockey coach.

Pakistan had 7 medals before the final weekend

Pakistan had 7 medals at the Asian Games 2026 before 3 October: 1 silver and 6 bronze, with no gold. We read this on the official results system. Three medal matches on 3 October, in cricket, hockey and volleyball, can change that count before the ceremony.

SilverSquash, men's team2 October

The silver came when the squash team lost the final to Malaysia 2-0 on 2 October. The full running list is on the Pakistan medal tally.

The three matches on Saturday 3 October were set for these times in PKT:

  • Men's cricket gold medal match, Pakistan v India, 9:30 am. The build-up is in the Asian Games cricket final preview.
  • Men's volleyball bronze medal match, Pakistan v China, 12:00 noon.
  • Men's hockey bronze medal match, Pakistan v Korea, 12:30 pm.

This article was written before those matches, so it gives no result for them. A win in cricket would mean Pakistan's first gold of these Games. Bronze in either hockey or volleyball would add to the bronze count.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 3 October 2026, about 6:00 am PKT. We read the start time, gate times and re-entry rules on the organising committee's information for visitors page. We read the warm-up show, entry restriction and 7:30 pm end time in the OCA release of 29 September, and the Doha 2030 details on the OCA's Games page. Pakistan's medal list comes from the official Asian Games results system, read the same morning. The FIH executive board page gave Tayyab Ikram's background. We found no flag bearer announcement on nocpakistan.org and no broadcast confirmation from PTV or Jazz. All Pakistan times are our own conversion from Japan time.
