Our pick for the best phone under Rs 40,000 in Pakistan is the nubia A56 at Rs 35,999, because it pairs 4 GB of real RAM with 128 GB of storage. If the camera matters most, the realme Note 60 from Rs 26,999 has a 32 MP camera. If you want a vivo, the Y05e costs Rs 39,999. Five phones from the big brands fit this budget on their own Pakistan websites.

We read every price below on the brand's own Pakistan website on 7 November 2026. We have not tested these phones. We compare what each brand prints, and the picks are our opinion. Samsung has no phone in this budget: its cheapest, the Galaxy A07, costs Rs 47,999.

Our three picks at this budget, with official photos

The nubia A56 wins on storage, the realme Note 60 wins on camera and build, and the vivo Y05e wins for buyers who want a big service network behind the phone. Each heading below has the brand's own photo, then the price and our short verdict.

nubia A56, Rs 35,999

nubia's Pakistan website prices the A56 at Rs 35,999 with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Its battery is 5,000 mAh. Storage is the reason to choose it. WhatsApp photos and videos fill 64 GB quickly, and this phone gives you double that for Rs 3,000 more than the A36.

realme Note 60, from Rs 26,999

This is the cheapest phone on our list with a strong camera claim. realme lists a 32 MP camera, a 90 Hz screen, IP64 dust and water protection, and a metal inner frame. "From" means the lowest variant. realme's page does not split real RAM from dynamic RAM, so read the box before you pay.

vivo Y05e, Rs 39,999

The Y05e has IP64 protection, a 5,150 mAh battery, a 6.74 inch screen and a microSD slot for up to 2 TB. Its weak point is the camera: vivo prints 8 MP on the back and 5 MP on the front. Charging is only 15W, so plan on overnight charging.

Two more phones cost less and still do the job

The realme Note 50 and nubia A36 save you money but give up something. The Note 50 has a lower water rating than the Note 60, and the A36 has half the storage of the A56. Both suit a parent's phone or a second phone.

nubia A36, Rs 32,999

nubia lists a 6.75 inch 90 Hz HD+ screen, a 5,000 mAh battery and face unlock, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. It is a sensible large-screen phone for calls, WhatsApp and YouTube. Add a memory card if you keep many photos, once you have checked the slot at the counter.

realme Note 50, from Rs 24,999

realme lists a 6.74 inch 90 Hz screen, IP54 splash protection and up to 128 GB of storage. It costs Rs 2,000 less than the Note 60, which gives the better rating and camera. Pay the extra Rs 2,000 if you can.

Real RAM matters more than dynamic RAM in this budget

Dynamic RAM borrows storage to act as extra memory, and it is slower than real RAM. In this budget, 4 GB of real RAM is the figure to look for. Phones with only 2 GB will feel slow in everyday use.

Brands often print a big number such as "up to 12 GB" on the box and in their adverts. That number adds real and dynamic RAM together. The nubia A36, nubia A56 and vivo Y05e each print 4 GB of real RAM. For the cheapest options below this range, read the best phone under Rs 30,000 in Pakistan, which also explains why we skip the 2 GB ZTE Blade A35e.

Check these five things before you pay a shop

The official price only protects you if the phone is an official unit. Grey stock means phones imported outside the brand's channel, often with no local warranty. These five checks at the counter take about two minutes and catch most problems.

  1. Compare the shop price with the brand's own website.
  2. Read the real RAM and storage on the box, not the dynamic RAM figure.
  3. Dial *#06# and match both IMEI numbers with the box.
  4. Send the IMEI to 8484 to confirm PTA approval.
  5. Ask for the warranty card and a stamped invoice with the IMEI on it.

The full list is in what to check before buying a phone in Pakistan. If you can spend a little more, the next step up is in the best phones under Rs 50,000 in Pakistan.

Common questions about phones under Rs 40,000

Which is the best phone under 40,000 in Pakistan?

Our pick is the nubia A56 at Rs 35,999, for 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The realme Note 60 from Rs 26,999 is the better choice for the camera.

Is there a Samsung phone under 40,000 in Pakistan?

No. Samsung's cheapest phone on its Pakistan store is the Galaxy A07 at Rs 47,999, read on 7 November 2026.

Is the vivo Y05e worth Rs 39,999?

It suits buyers who want IP64 and vivo's service network. The 8 MP rear camera and 15W charging are its weak points, so compare it with the realme Note 60 first.

How much storage should I buy?

Buy 128 GB if you use WhatsApp heavily or keep many videos. 64 GB is fine for a light second phone, especially with a microSD card.

Are these prices for PTA approved phones?

These are the brands' own official prices. Confirm any phone by sending its IMEI to 8484 before you pay.

Do these phones have 5G?

vivo's Y05e page lists no 5G bands. We did not confirm 5G on the others, so treat this budget as 4G and read the box. Cheaper 5G options are in the cheapest 5G phones in Pakistan.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 7 November 2026. Prices and specifications come from realme's Pakistan website, nubia's Pakistan website, vivo's Y05e specification page and Samsung's Pakistan store. Brands change prices without notice, so check the brand's page on the day you buy.
