A car driving licence in Punjab costs Rs 1,350 a year plus a Rs 480 courier charge and a Rs 150 test fee, and a bike licence costs Rs 450 a year plus the same Rs 480 courier and a Rs 50 test, on the official DLIMS fee table. The online learner permit adds Rs 500 for each category. Below is every bike and car fee in one place: new licence, renewal, the late fine and a duplicate. The international licence is Rs 1,350 a year for a car, covered in the international driving licence in Punjab.

We read the Punjab DLIMS fee structure page on 31 October 2026, and every amount in this article comes from it unless we say otherwise.

The Punjab licence fee is a test fee, a yearly fee and a courier charge

Every regular licence in Punjab has three parts: a test fee paid before the road test, a licence fee paid after you pass, and a Rs 480 courier charge for posting the card. DLIMS says the licence fee applies for one year.

Here is the table for bikes and cars, taken from DLIMS on 31 October 2026.

CategoryTest feeFee after passing (1 year)CourierTotal without test fee
MotorcycleRs 50Rs 450Rs 480Rs 930
Car or jeepRs 150Rs 1,350Rs 480Rs 1,830
Motorcycle and car togetherRs 200Rs 1,350Rs 480Rs 1,830
Invalid carriageRs 0Rs 0Rs 480Rs 480

DLIMS adds one rule that saves money: in any combination, you pay the fee of the highest category only. So a bike and car licence together costs the same Rs 1,350 as a car licence alone. Only the test fee goes up, to Rs 200, because you sit two tests.

Punjab bike and car driving licence fees on the DLIMS table in 2026

A first car licence costs about Rs 2,480 from learner to card

Add the Rs 500 online learner permit, the Rs 150 test fee, the Rs 1,350 licence fee and the Rs 480 courier, and a one year car licence comes to Rs 2,480. A bike licence comes to Rs 1,480 the same way.

These totals are our own arithmetic from the DLIMS figures. The learner amount comes from the DLIMS FAQ, which lists 500 PKR for each category on the online learner permit. So a learner for both a bike and a car is Rs 1,000 online.

At an e-Khidmat Markaz counter, the learner permit has been listed at Rs 60 a category in postal stamps. We could not re-check that figure today, because the Punjab government site that publishes it refused our connection. The steps for the counter route are in the guide to getting a licence at an e-Khidmat Markaz.

DLIMS lets you take a regular licence for 1 to 5 years but prints no total for a longer one. If the yearly fee is multiplied, as in its international table, a five year car licence would be Rs 6,750 plus Rs 480 courier. Confirm the PSID amount before paying.

Renewing a bike or car licence costs the same as the yearly fee

Renewal in Punjab costs Rs 1,350 a year for a car and Rs 450 for a bike, plus the Rs 480 courier. If the original licence is lost, DLIMS adds the duplicate fee on top of the renewal fee.

The full renewal process, with the documents, is in how to renew a driving licence in Punjab.

The late renewal fine reaches two and a half times the fee

Punjab fines a late renewal in three steps: half the fee if you are one to three months late, the full fee from three months to a year, and two and a half times the fee after that. The fine is added to the normal renewal fee.

How lateBike fineCar fineCar total with fee and courier
On timeRs 0Rs 0Rs 1,830
1 to 3 monthsRs 225Rs 675Rs 2,505
3 months to 1 yearRs 450Rs 1,350Rs 3,180
More than 1 yearRs 1,125Rs 3,375Rs 5,205

The last column is our arithmetic: fine plus the Rs 1,350 fee plus the Rs 480 courier. DLIMS labels the last fine column "Fine (1 Year)", which we read as more than one year late, since the column before it covers three months to one year.

Set a reminder a month before the expiry date printed on the card. Unpaid traffic fines are a separate matter; Punjab's amounts are in the Punjab traffic fines list, and you can look up a pending ticket through the e-challan check in Punjab.

A duplicate costs Rs 100 for a bike and Rs 150 for a car

A lost or damaged Punjab licence is replaced for Rs 100 on a bike licence, Rs 150 on a car licence and Rs 200 on a bike and car licence, each plus the Rs 480 courier. That makes Rs 580, Rs 630 or Rs 680.

If the card is lost and also out of date, you pay renewal and duplicate together. The steps are in the guide to a duplicate driving licence in Punjab.

How to pay a Punjab licence fee online with a PSID

DLIMS fees are paid through a PSID, a payment number generated after you submit the form. You pay it through ATM, internet banking or a mobile banking app. DLIMS now sends users to the Dastak app, where old DLIMS records can be linked.

  1. Open DLIMS or the Dastak app and sign in with your account.
  2. Fill in the form for learner, renewal, duplicate or international licence.
  3. Upload your photo and both sides of your CNIC. A medical certificate is needed if you are over 50.
  4. Generate the PSID and check that the amount matches the tables above.
  5. Pay through your bank app, ATM or internet banking, then keep the receipt.
  6. Track the application until the card is dispatched by courier.

A higher PSID amount usually means a fine or a duplicate charge. DLIMS takes money only through a PSID, never into a personal account or wallet. To check a licence once it arrives, use the steps to verify and track a driving licence online.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 31 October 2026. We read the DLIMS fee structure page and the DLIMS home page with its FAQ at dlims.punjab.gov.pk on 31 October 2026. All fees, fines, the duplicate and international amounts, the highest category rule and the Rs 500 online learner fee come from those pages. The totals and the five year example are our arithmetic. We could not read the Punjab government page that lists the Rs 60 counter learner fee, because it refused our connection, so that figure is reported, not checked today. We did not apply for a licence ourselves. Fees can change; the PSID amount is the final word.
