Short answer: You can see your own credit report in Pakistan through a bureau licensed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The two named on SBP's page are TASDEEQ, run by Aequitas Information Services, and Data-Check. TASDEEQ has a mobile app that shows your score and report. If an entry is wrong, you dispute it with the bureau and the bank that supplied it.

A man in Faisalabad applies for a car loan and is told the bank "cannot proceed". He has never missed a payment on that loan. An old mobile phone instalment, closed years ago, may still show as overdue in a record he has never seen.

We read SBP's consumer protection page and TASDEEQ's own pages on 13 October 2026. Data-Check's website refused our request, so we describe it only from SBP's page.

The credit report is a record that banks check

A credit report lists your loans, cards and instalments, and whether you paid on time. SBP says the Credit Information Bureau was established in 1992 under the Banking Companies Ordinance, 1962. Its electronic system, eCIB, holds over four million borrower records from nearly 100 member institutions.

Banks and other lenders check it before they approve credit. Since the Credit Bureaus Act, 2015, SBP has also licensed private bureaus. SBP names two: Aequitas Information Services Limited, which runs TASDEEQ, and Data-Check Limited.

SBP says the private bureaus allow consumers to see their credit information reports, dispute inaccuracies and take part more in their own credit profile. That is the route for an ordinary person. SBP's page does not describe a way for a consumer to ask for an eCIB report from SBP directly.

TASDEEQ app shows your score and report

TASDEEQ says its app lets you view your credit score and credit report. The steps it gives are to download the app from the App Store or Google Play, sign up for an account, verify your identity and view the score and report.

The score is calculated from 5 years of credit history reported by financial institutions, according to the page. On TASDEEQ's credit score page, the scale runs from 200, which is very poor, to 600, which is excellent. A higher score means a higher chance of timely repayment.

TASDEEQ's pages do not give a price for a personal report. We did not install the app or run a report, so we cannot say if it is free or what it costs. Check the price in the app before you pay.

Reading the report means reading the dates

A report has four parts, TASDEEQ says: your personal data, your credit data, dispute information and public record. Start with your personal data. A wrong CNIC digit or a different person's name can attach a stranger's loan to you.

Then read each loan line. Check the lender, the opening date, the limit, the amount overdue and whether it shows as closed. Because the database is refreshed once a month, a loan you cleared last week may still show open this week.

A default stays visible for three years for individuals, according to TASDEEQ's FAQ, and a bankruptcy for five. So an old default that is more than three years old should not appear. If it does, that is worth a dispute.

Disputing a wrong entry

TASDEEQ's FAQ points to a dispute resolution process for wrong information, and we did not read that process page. The reasonable order is to write to the lender that reported the entry, and to the bureau at the same time.

  1. Download the report and mark the wrong line.
  2. Gather proof: a loan clearance letter, a bank statement or a paid receipt.
  3. Write to the bank or lender with the proof and ask for a correction.
  4. Send the same papers to the bureau. TASDEEQ lists complaints@tasdeeq.com and the helpline 042-111-900-900.
  5. Check the report again after the next monthly update.

If the bank does not answer, go to the Banking Mohtasib, as set out in the Banking Mohtasib complaint guide. If a bank agent is chasing you for a debt you dispute, see the rules on bank recovery agent harassment.

When to check, and what else to read

Check before you apply, not after a refusal. Do it before any big loan, a car finance plan or a home loan. The guide to car financing rates and limits shows what banks ask for.

It is also worth a look if you have signed as a guarantor for someone. Your name may be on their loan, as explained in the page on bank loan guarantor rights. And if you paid a loan off early, see early repayment rights and ask for a clearance letter, which is your proof.

Common questions

Is my credit report free in Pakistan?

We could not confirm. TASDEEQ's pages give no price for a personal report, and we did not run one. Check the app before you pay.

What is eCIB?

It is SBP's electronic Credit Information Bureau system, which banks and lenders use to check borrowers. SBP says it holds over four million records.

Which companies give credit reports to consumers?

SBP names two licensed private bureaus: TASDEEQ, run by Aequitas Information Services, and Data-Check Limited.

How long does a default stay on my report?

Three years for individuals, and bankruptcy five years, according to TASDEEQ's FAQ.

How often is the report updated?

Monthly. Lenders must send data for the previous month within the first 10 days of the next month.

What if the report is wrong?

Collect proof, write to the lender and the bureau, and recheck after the next monthly update. Take it to the Banking Mohtasib if the bank does not act.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 13 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read SBP's consumer protection page and TASDEEQ's credit report page and its contact page with FAQs. Data-Check's website refused our request. We did not read TASDEEQ's dispute process page, a report fee or the SBP booklet on credit bureau consumers' rights, and we did not run a report ourselves.
