Short answer: OGRA publishes a 108-page PDF, "Detail of Authorized Distributors of LPG Marketing Companies", on the LPG page of ogra.org.pk. Search it for your dealer's shop name, city and phone number. The version we read is dated 5 September 2025, so an older name may have gone.

The cylinder may carry a famous brand. But the person who hands it over is a distributor, and the shop on your corner may or may not be an authorised one.

We opened OGRA's LPG page and downloaded the distributor list on 14 October 2026. We read the columns and checked how the entries are laid out. We did not phone any distributor, so a match here is a starting point, not proof.

The list names every authorised distributor

A distributor or agency is a dealer licensed to sell a marketing company's cylinders. OGRA's list is organised by company. Under each brand, it gives the distributor's name, city, district, province, full address, phone number, contact person and date of authorisation.

For example, the first company in the file, Lub Gas, lists dozens of agencies across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir. Dates of authorisation go back to the 1980s and 1990s for some entries.

The date matters because the list is a year old

The page labels this file 5 September 2025, which is over a year before our check. New dealers may be missing, and closed ones may remain. So a missing name does not prove a dealer is illegal, and a listed name does not prove he is still active.

Your findingWhat to do
Dealer is on the list, phone matchesGood sign, still check the cylinder and price
Dealer is on the list, phone is differentAsk the company, the dealer may have moved
Dealer is not on the listAsk which licensed distributor supplies him
Dealer refuses to sayBuy from another dealer

We found this out by reading the file's own page label and then its layout. The same page also lists newer files, such as the October 2026 marketing company list, which is why a dated check is worth doing.

Check the brand first, then the dealer

Start with the brand on the cylinder, and confirm the company is licensed in the OGRA list of LPG marketing companies. Then look in the distributor list under that company. This order saves time, because the PDF is sorted by company.

  1. Note the brand name on the cylinder and the shop name on your receipt.
  2. Open the LPG page on ogra.org.pk and download the distributor list.
  3. Find your brand's section in the PDF.
  4. Search the section for the shop name, city or phone number.
  5. Call the company number from the licensed company list if you cannot match the shop.

What to do if the dealer is not listed

Ask for the licensed company and distributor he buys from. If the answer is vague, stop buying from him and report it to the company. Dealers that sell short-filled cylinders or add extra charges are a common problem, covered in the guide on LPG cylinder prices in Pakistan.

Keep a photo of the cylinder label, the receipt and the shop. For wider safety advice, read how to use LPG cylinders safely at home. If you want to avoid cylinders, piped gas is a different route, compared in piped gas versus LPG.

Why distributors matter for safety and price

The distributor is the last link between the plant and your kitchen. He stores cylinders, hands them over and sets the final price you pay. If he is not authorised, the company has less control over how cylinders are stored and sold.

That is why the list is organised by company. Each distributor sits under the firm that supplies him, so you can ask that firm about a dealer in your city.

A phone number on the list is the quickest check. Call it and ask if the shop name matches. Do this before you buy a large order or a commercial supply.

What the list does not cover

The list covers authorised distributors, not every shop that resells cylinders. A small shop may buy from a listed distributor and resell at a higher price. That is why keeping the receipt and asking where the stock comes from still matters.

Take a photo of the entry you matched, with the page number, so you can show it later. If the shop moved, the old address may still appear in the list, so check the phone number first.

Common questions

Where is the OGRA list of LPG distributors?

It is on the LPG department page of ogra.org.pk, under the title "Detail of Authorized Distributors of LPG Marketing Companies".

How up to date is the list?

The version we read is dated 5 September 2025. New or closed dealers may not be reflected.

Is every shop that sells cylinders on the list?

We cannot say. The list covers authorised distributors. A shop may buy from one of them and resell, which the list would not show.

What details does the list give?

Distributor name, city, district, province, address, contact number, contact person and date of authorisation, grouped under each LPG company.

Does a listed dealer guarantee a full cylinder?

No. Check the seal and weight yourself, and keep your receipt.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 14 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read OGRA's LPG department page and downloaded the distributor PDF it links. We did not call any distributor, and we could not confirm that the 5 September 2025 list is the most recent.
