Short answer: Look at the brand name on your LPG cylinder, then search for it in OGRA's "Detail of LPG Marketing Companies" PDF on the LPG page of ogra.org.pk. The list we read is dated 2 October 2026. It shows each company, its brand, plant location and the date its licence is valid to.

Cylinders from unknown filling points are sold at roadside shops across Pakistan. Some carry a famous brand sticker. Some carry nothing. Before you bring one inside your kitchen, spend two minutes on the regulator's list.

We opened OGRA's LPG page and downloaded the marketing company list on 14 October 2026. We read the columns, but we did not call any company to confirm a licence. A name on the list is a good sign, not a safety certificate.

OGRA keeps a list of licensed LPG marketing companies

An LPG marketing company is the firm that owns the brand, fills cylinders and sells them through distributors. OGRA, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, licenses these firms. Its LPG page links a PDF titled "Detail of LPG Marketing Companies", dated 2 October 2026.

OGRA list of LPG marketing companies runs to 99 numbered entries

The numbered entries run up to 99. Many companies have several plants, so one entry can show more than one city. Brands on the list include Pak Gas, Super Gas, Lub Gas, SunGas, WAK Gas, POL Gas, Anoud Gas, Mehran LPG and RAVI Gas.

What each column tells you

The list shows the company name, mailing address, phone numbers, chief executive, directors, brand name, plant city and province, and a licence validity date. You mainly need the brand, the plant and the date. The phone numbers let you ask the company directly.

ColumnWhy it helps you
Brand nameMatch it to the name on your cylinder
Plant locationShows where the cylinder is filled
Licence validityShows when the licence ends
Phone and addressLets you ask the company about a dealer

Look at the dates. Several plants show a validity date earlier than October 2026. We could not tell whether those were renewed after the list was printed. Ask OGRA or the company before you decide.

The list and OGRA's annual count differ

OGRA's own annual report said the sector had 354 LPG marketing companies at 30 June 2025, as covered in our review of where Pakistan's LPG comes from. The October 2026 list is numbered only to 99. We could not tell why the numbers differ.

Do not conclude that a brand absent from this list is illegal. Instead treat it as a reason to ask questions. If a brand is not on the list, ask the dealer which licensed company fills it.

How to check your cylinder in five steps

Read the brand and company name painted on your cylinder, then match it on the OGRA list. Check the plant, the licence date, and the dealer. If anything is missing, ask for the filler's name. A cylinder with no brand or a scratched-out label should not go in your house.

  1. Read the brand and company name on the cylinder and its label.
  2. Open ogra.org.pk, go to the LPG department page and open the marketing company list.
  3. Search the PDF for your brand name.
  4. Check the plant city and the licence validity date.
  5. Keep the receipt, and ask the dealer which licensed distributor supplies him.

Check the price too. The current notified rate is in the October 2026 LPG price report, and the usual rate by cylinder size is in our LPG cylinder price guide.

Safety checks the list cannot do

A licence does not prove a particular cylinder is safe. Check the valve, the seal and the hose for yourself, and read how to use LPG cylinders safely at home. OGRA also publishes enforcement actions, which we summarise in the review of OGRA's 2025-26 enforcement record.

What to do with an unbranded cylinder

If a cylinder has no brand, no company name or a painted-over label, do not take it. Ask the dealer for a branded one, and say why. Cylinders with removed labels are hard to trace if something goes wrong.

Brand stickers can also be faked, so the list is one check among several. Look at the cylinder body, the valve and the seal, and weigh a few against each other if you can.

When a company is on the list, keep its phone number from the PDF. If your dealer cheats you, a call to the company can lead to a fix faster than a complaint to a stranger.

Common questions

Where is OGRA's list of LPG marketing companies?

On the LPG department page of ogra.org.pk, as "Detail of LPG Marketing Companies". The version we read was dated 2 October 2026.

Does a brand on the list mean the cylinder is safe?

No. It means the company holds an OGRA licence. You still need to check the valve, seal and hose.

What if my brand is not on the list?

Ask the dealer which licensed company fills it. You can also ask OGRA before buying more.

Does the list show the price?

No. OGRA publishes notified LPG prices on a separate page.

Can I complain about an LPG seller?

Yes. OGRA has an online complaint system at complaint.ogra.org.pk, though its form is built for gas utility complaints, so confirm that it takes your LPG case.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 14 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read OGRA's LPG department page and the marketing company PDF it links, dated 2 October 2026. We did not check any licence with a company, and we could not confirm why the list shows 99 entries when OGRA's report counted 354 companies.
