SSGC's June 2026 defaulters list shows 6,018 domestic customers who owe more than Rs 5 lakh each, Rs 5,844 million in total, and Karachi (3,178) and Quetta (1,900) hold most of them. The company publishes the full list as a PDF on its website. You can check it in a few minutes, but the file is large and the summary on its first page is the part most people need.

Gas dues matter to anyone who buys a house, rents one or runs a shop in Sindh or Balochistan. We downloaded the PDF from SSGC's own site on 22 October 2026 and read the summary page and the table behind it. We do not print any customer name here. The list is public, but a family name is not a story, and the totals are what help you.

The list covers four customer classes, and domestic is the biggest by far

SSGC splits its unsecured defaulters into four classes with different cut-offs: domestic above Rs 5 lakh, domestic government above Rs 10,000, domestic bulk above Rs 10,000 and commercial above Rs 25,000. Domestic homes make up 6,018 of the 9,981 customers listed in these summaries.

The cut-off is the first thing to notice. A home only appears if it owes more than Rs 5 lakh. A small unpaid bill of a few thousand rupees will not be on this list, even though SSGC can still disconnect you for it. A government office, by contrast, appears from Rs 10,000.

Class on the listCut-offCustomersOwed (Rs million)
DomesticAbove Rs 5 lakh6,0185,844
Domestic governmentAbove Rs 10,0003,051996
Domestic bulkAbove Rs 10,000356771
CommercialAbove Rs 25,000556442

The four grand totals add to 9,981 customers and about Rs 8,053 million. That sum is our arithmetic from SSGC's totals. The list calls these dues "unsecured", which we read as dues not covered by a security deposit. SSGC's page does not define the word, so treat that reading as ours.

Karachi has the most defaulters but Quetta owes more per customer

Karachi has 3,178 domestic defaulters owing Rs 2,800 million. Quetta has 1,900 owing Rs 2,234 million. That is about Rs 0.88 million a customer in Karachi and Rs 1.18 million in Quetta, by our division of SSGC's totals.

Quetta is 32 per cent of the domestic customers on the list but 38 per cent of the money. Karachi is 53 per cent of the customers and 48 per cent of the money. The other regions are small: Mirpurkhas 340, Hyderabad 206, Larkana 138, Sukkur 129, Nawabshah 118 and Gwadar 9.

SSGC domestic defaulters above Rs 5 lakh by region

We can say what the list shows. We cannot say why Quetta's average is higher. SSGC gives no reason, and a few very large accounts can move an average. Reading the cause into the numbers would be a guess.

You can check the list in five steps

Open the PDF from SSGC's website, read the summary on page one, then search the table for your area, customer number or address. A text search in the PDF reader finds a name or number faster than scrolling through thousands of rows.

  1. Open SSGC's defaulters list PDF from the link above.
  2. Read the first page to see the four class totals and the month the data covers.
  3. Use the search box (Ctrl+F on a computer) and type the customer number from your gas bill.
  4. If you are checking a property, search the street, block or plot number as it appears on the bill.
  5. Write down the amount and the date of the list, and ask SSGC for a current figure.
Steps to check the SSGC defaulters list

The file is big, with thousands of lines across many pages. Our text extraction found 6,018 domestic rows, the same number as the summary, which tells us the table and the totals agree. Each row shows a customer number, a name, an address and an amount. The address text is uneven: some rows are cut or run together, so search by more than one word.

A property buyer should ask for a gas clearance, not rely on the list

The list is a month-old snapshot and it leaves out smaller debts. Before buying or renting, ask the seller for the latest paid bill and ask SSGC for the current balance on that meter. Also check the title through the usual steps in property registry verification before buying.

We did not find a rule on SSGC's pages that says whether gas dues pass to a new owner. So we do not claim either way. Ask SSGC in writing, at one of its customer centres or on 1199, and keep the reply with your sale papers.

If the bill itself looks wrong, read how the charges are built in the guide to SSGC minimum charges and provisional bills before you assume the debt is real. Estimated and minimum bills are a common source of disputes.

Being on the list does not by itself prove a debt is correct

A listing is SSGC's claim of what is owed. You can dispute it. Lodge a complaint with your customer number, the meter number and copies of your paid bills, and ask for the account history. Disputed amounts are one reason a number looks high.

If you are not on the list but owe a smaller amount, pay it anyway. Unpaid gas bills can lead to disconnection, and reconnection brings its own steps, covered in how to restore a gas connection.

Common questions about the SSGC defaulters list

Where is the SSGC defaulters list published?

It is a PDF linked from the front page of ssgc.com.pk. The file we read is named with the date 23 July 2026 and its summary says June 2026.

Does a home with a small unpaid bill appear?

No. Domestic homes appear only above Rs 5 lakh. Government, bulk and commercial customers have lower cut-offs.

How many customers are on the list?

The four summaries add to 9,981 customers: 6,018 domestic, 3,051 domestic government, 356 domestic bulk and 556 commercial.

Are the dues the same as today's balance?

No. They are a June 2026 snapshot. Ask SSGC for the current balance on the meter before you pay or buy.

Can I dispute an amount on the list?

Yes. Contact SSGC on 1199 or use the complaint form on its website, and attach your paid bills.

Does the list name individuals?

Yes, the PDF shows names and addresses. We do not repeat them here and only use the totals.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 22 October 2026. We downloaded SSGC's defaulters list PDF from ssgc.com.pk and read its summary page (headed Class / Region Wise Unsecured Defaulters Summary, June 2026) and the table behind it. We also read SSGC's website front page on the same day. Shares, averages and the combined total are our arithmetic from SSGC's figures. We did not verify any individual account, we could not find how SSGC defines "unsecured", and we found no SSGC statement on whether dues pass to a new property owner.
