CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme Bank Status Selected: What It Means and What Happens Next
CM Punjab e-bike portal shows Bank status Selected? Here is what each status means, the next step at the bank, the BOP account claim, and who to call in Punjab.

Short answer: "Bank status: Selected" on the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme portal means your application has reached the bank stage. It is not yet a bike. The portal lists two more steps after verification: approval and financing with the bank, then delivery. Log in at bikes.punjab.gov.pk with your CNIC and password, keep the guarantor's documents ready, and wait for the bank or the scheme to contact you. Nobody can charge you a fee to move you up.
We were shown an applicant's portal screen this week. It read: application date 10-09-2026, province as per licence Punjab, licence verification Verified, student bonafide Verified, and bank status Selected. Under it was the line "You have a valid driving license / learner's permit / juvenile driving permit which is the pre-requisite for application in this scheme."
We read the scheme portal again on 5 November 2026 at about 15:00 PKT. Here is what each status means, what the official pages say comes next, and what they do not say yet.
What each status on the e-bike portal means
Your portal page shows three checks: your driving document, your student status and the bank. Each is one stage of the five step process the portal publishes. The portal does not publish a glossary of status words, so the meanings below come from its own process and rules.
| Status line | What it shows | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
| Licence verification: Verified | Your driving licence, learner's permit or juvenile permit was accepted | Nothing. Keep the permit valid |
| Licence verification: not verified | The driving document was not confirmed | Check the permit number and expiry, then call the helpline |
| Student bonafide: Verified | Your institution confirmed you are a regular, enrolled student | Nothing. Stay enrolled |
| Student bonafide: pending | Your institution has not confirmed you yet | Ask your college or university office if they have checked the portal |
| Bank status: Selected | Your file has moved to the bank stage, approval and financing | Keep the guarantor's CNIC, income proof and bank statement ready |
| Bank status: Pending | The bank stage has not finished for your file | Wait, and check your email and portal every few days |
| Rejected, at any stage | The file failed that check | Call 042-99212260 and ask for the reason in writing |
The portal has a separate "Institute Login" next to the student login. That is how colleges and universities confirm their students, so a "Student bonafide" problem is usually solved at your own institution, not at the bank.

What happens after Bank status: Selected
After the bank stage, the portal lists "Approval and Financing: complete the required approval and financing formalities", then "Bike Delivery". The Bank of Punjab is the scheme's bank partner, and its logo sits on the portal beside the Transport Department and PITB.
The five steps on the portal are these:
- Submit the application online at bikes.punjab.gov.pk.
- Documentation: complete documentation and proceed accordingly.
- Verification: applicant details and eligibility are verified.
- Approval and financing: complete the required approval and financing formalities.
- Bike delivery: receive your bike.
A student shown as Selected at the bank is at step 4. The portal does not say what the formalities are. It does say the guarantor "can be any one with acceptable income as per Bank's regulations", with a minimum monthly income of Rs 40,000, a recent bank statement, and a mobile SIM registered in the guarantor's own name against their CNIC. So the bank's check is mainly a check of the guarantor.
The first round of this programme in 2024 published its rules in more detail. Its official questions said that after the e-ballot, the Bank of Punjab would carry out "financial scrutiny of the Guarantor / Co-Borrower", could ask for more documents, and that only students whose scrutiny was satisfactory would finally be declared successful. The bank also gave each successful student an instalment plan. Phase 2 has not published the same wording, so treat this as how the last round worked, not a promise for this one.

The bike, the price and the monthly instalment
Every selected student gets the same electric scooty on the same terms. You do not choose a model in Phase 2. The portal sets the price at Rs 199,000, of which the Punjab government pays Rs 90,000.
| Item | What the portal says |
|---|---|
| Bike price | Rs 199,000 |
| Government subsidy | Rs 90,000 per bike |
| Down payment | None |
| Monthly instalment | About Rs 3,000 |
| Financing period | 3 years, interest paid by the government |
| Insurance, registration, token tax | Paid by the government |
| Free items | Helmet and safety rods |
The bike is a 2026 model with a 72V 30Ah lithium iron phosphate battery, a 1000 watt motor in the rear wheel and a top speed of 50 to 55 km/h. On our sum, the Rs 109,000 left after the subsidy, spread over 36 months, is about Rs 3,028 a month. Radio Pakistan, the state broadcaster, reported on 12 October that the chief minister ordered free driving training for successful female applicants.

No delivery date or district schedule is published yet
The government has not published a date for your bike or a schedule by district. The chief minister said on 1 October and again on 27 October that distribution would start in early November. A start on 5 November was reported, citing her Facebook page, but we could not open that post.
Two other official points help you judge the wait. When Phase 2 launched on 10 September, the chief minister directed that bikes be handed over within six weeks of the application process ending, as Radio Pakistan reported. And on 12 October Radio Pakistan reported more than 600,000 applications, with 100,000 students to be selected through balloting.
So about one in six applicants can get a bike, on our arithmetic. The portal has not published the ballot result or a selected list. It also does not say whether "Bank status: Selected" means you have already won the ballot, or only that your file passed the bank's check. We could not confirm that either way, so do not spend money on the strength of it.
The BOP account claim is not on any official page
A message now going round with these screenshots says applicants who already had a Bank of Punjab account show as Selected, and those without one show as Pending. That is applicants' own account of what they see. We found nothing on the scheme portal or on the Bank of Punjab website that makes a BOP account a condition.
The portal asks the guarantor for "a recent bank statement". It does not name a bank. The Bank of Punjab's website lists its products and helplines, but we found no page for the student e-bike financing on 5 November.
Another notice is also being shared: "CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme portal status shows Selected or Verified, or who have received a selection email. Please check your emails and portal." We could not find it on the scheme portal, the Transport Department or the Bank of Punjab's pages. Treat it as circulating and unconfirmed. Its advice to check your email and the portal is still sensible.
If you or your guarantor already bank with BOP, you can follow any account you open with the bank's own tracker, as our guide to checking a BOP account status by tracking ID and CNIC explains. Do not open an account only because a forward told you to. Call the bank first and ask whether your file needs one.
If your bank status is pending or you were not selected
Pending is not a rejection. With 100,000 bikes and more than 600,000 applications, most files are still waiting. Check the portal and your email every few days, and keep the guarantor's documents ready so you can answer quickly if the bank calls.
- Pending at the bank: check the guarantor's income proof shows at least Rs 40,000 a month and the bank statement is recent.
- Mobile number problem: the SIM on the form must be in the guarantor's name, unless the student has a documented income.
- Licence not verified: a learner's permit expires. If yours has lapsed, renew it. Our guide to the learner licence in Punjab covers that.
- Student bonafide pending: ask your college or university office to check its Institute Login.
- Not selected: the scheme has not published a waiting list or a second ballot. Applications closed on 4 October, so watch the portal for a later phase.
The federal PAVE electric bike scheme is a separate programme with its own portal, if you want another route.
Who to contact, and the fee scam to avoid
For the scheme, call the portal's helpline on 042-99212260 or email support@bikes.punjab.gov.pk. For the bank side, the Bank of Punjab lists a Government Initiatives Helpline on (042) 111 333 267, its main helpline on 111-267-200, and complaints@bop.com.pk.
If a complaint to the bank is not settled, the bank's own complaints page points you to the Banking Mohtasib, the banking ombudsman. Our guide to filing and tracking a Banking Mohtasib complaint explains how.

Nobody can pay their way into this scheme. The portal says there is no down payment, and no official page lists any fee for selection, verification or delivery. A caller who asks for money, your password or a code sent to your phone is a scammer. These messages rise every time a handover nears, as our warning on the fake CM Punjab laptop scheme shows. Your login is at bikes.punjab.gov.pk only.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 5 November 2026 at about 15:00 PKT. The five steps, the terms, the bike specification, the guarantor rules, the login page, the Institute Login, the Bank of Punjab partner logo and the helpline are read on the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme portal. Its registration and FAQ pages showed "will be back shortly" that day. The Bank of Punjab helplines and complaint route are from its Contact Us and Complaints pages. The 600,000 applications, the ballot of 100,000 and the driving training are from Radio Pakistan's report of 12 October 2026. The six week direction is from its report of 10 September. The 2024 bank scrutiny rules are from the first round's official questions. The portal screen is an applicant's screen we were shown. The BOP account claim and the selection email notice are not on any official page we could find. The Rs 3,028 and one in six figures are our own sums.
