DRAP declared Influvac Tetra flu vaccine batch P13 spurious and falsified on 30 October 2026, three days after it flagged a fake Vaxigrip Tetra batch, Y4B34. If the batch number on your flu vaccine box or syringe reads P13 (Influvac Tetra) or Y4B34 (Vaxigrip Tetra), do not use it. The rest of this page shows where to find the batch number, what to do if you already had the shot, and how to buy a flu vaccine safely this winter.

The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) posted Rapid Alert No I/S/10-30-48 on its website on the evening of 30 October 2026. We read it in full on 31 October. The alert says a Provincial Inspector of Drugs in Lahore registered a case over the supply of the fake Influvac Tetra, and that it was being marketed and supplied through online channels.

DRAP alert 48 of 30 October 2026: Influvac Tetra flu vaccine batch P13 declared spurious and falsified in Pakistan

DRAP declared Influvac Tetra batch P13 fake on 30 October 2026

DRAP's alert 48, dated 30 October 2026, says Influvac Tetra batch P13 is spurious and falsified. The authorised supplier confirmed the batch was not part of the legitimate supply chain. The vaccine was found being sold through online channels after a case was registered in Lahore.

The fake pack claims to be made by Abbott Biologicals B.V. in the Netherlands. That is the name printed on it, not proof of where it came from. DRAP's risk statement is blunt: a falsified vaccine may give no protection at all, and it could expose the person who receives it to unknown safety risks.

DRAP has told its own field force and the provincial drug control departments to survey the supply chain and confiscate the product. It asks doctors, pharmacists and hospitals to watch their stock closely.

Vaxigrip Tetra batch Y4B34 was flagged as fake three days earlier

On 27 October 2026, DRAP alert 47 said a falsified Vaxigrip Tetra quadrivalent flu vaccine, batch Y4B34, was found in the market. Hoechst Pakistan Limited, Karachi, reported it. The alert states that batch Y4B34 was never imported or distributed in Pakistan.

So two of the flu vaccine brands people ask for by name now have a fake batch circulating. Both alerts came in the same week, right at the start of the season. Pakistan's flu season runs from about November to April, as our flu vaccine guide for 2026 explains from NIH's advisory.

Check the batch number on your flu vaccine in four steps

The batch number is printed on the outer box and on the syringe label, usually after the words Batch, Lot or B.No. Compare it with the two batches above before the injection is given, not after. A pharmacist or nurse should let you see the pack.

  1. Ask to see the box before the injection and find the line marked Batch, Lot or B.No.
  2. Read the brand: Influvac Tetra or Vaxigrip Tetra.
  3. If the brand is Influvac Tetra and the batch is P13, or Vaxigrip Tetra and Y4B34, refuse the shot.
  4. Keep the box or take a clear photo of the label and the receipt, then report it to DRAP.

A different batch number does not prove a pack is genuine. It only means it is not one of the two batches DRAP has named so far. Check the price, the seller and the cold storage too, as explained below. DRAP's lot release system is another layer; the steps to check a vaccine lot released by DRAP's NCLB show how it works.

Steps to check a flu vaccine batch number in Pakistan before the injection

Online sellers are the risk DRAP named

DRAP says the fake Influvac Tetra was marketed and supplied through online channels. Its advice to consumers is to get every therapeutic product from a licensed pharmacy or another licensed retail outlet, and to check the condition of the product before use.

A vaccine is not like a strip of tablets. It has to stay cold all the way to the clinic. A syringe that arrives by courier in a plain envelope has no proof of cold storage, even if it is genuine. Our honest view: buy the flu shot at a hospital, a known clinic or a licensed pharmacy with a fridge, and have it given there.

If you are not sure a medical store is licensed, the steps to check a pharmacy licence in Punjab work in a few minutes.

Already had a shot from batch P13 or Y4B34? Do these three things

Do not panic, but do act. DRAP tells consumers who used the product to contact their doctor if they have any problem and to report the incident. You may also need a genuine dose, because a fake one may give no protection.

  • Speak to your doctor and show them the batch number. Ask whether you should get a genuine dose.
  • Report it to DRAP's National Pharmacovigilance Centre online through the DRAP reporting form, or call 0800-03727, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
  • Report the seller too. The steps to report counterfeit medicine to DRAP list the details to include.

Watch for any unusual reaction after the injection, such as swelling, fever or a rash, and tell the doctor about it. Any side effect can also go to DRAP using the medicine side effect report.

Genuine Influvac costs Rs 9,241.37 for 10 syringes on DRAP's price list

DRAP's PharmaPrice Index lists Influvac suspension for injection by Abbott Laboratories (Pakistan), registration 028437, at Rs 9,241.37 for a pack of 10 prefilled syringes, effective 22 July 2026. That is about Rs 924 a syringe by our arithmetic.

We read that entry on 31 October 2026. The listing does not use the word Tetra, and we did not find a Vaxigrip entry on the page we opened, so treat the figure as a guide for Influvac only. A clinic may add a fee for giving the injection. A price far below the list, from an unknown online seller, is a warning sign rather than a bargain. The DRAP PharmaPrice Index lets you search a product yourself.

Common questions

Which flu vaccine batch is fake in Pakistan?

DRAP has named two: Influvac Tetra batch P13 (alert of 30 October 2026) and Vaxigrip Tetra batch Y4B34 (alert of 27 October 2026). Other batches of these brands were not named in the alerts.

Is every Influvac Tetra vaccine fake now?

No. DRAP's alert covers batch P13 only, which the authorised supplier confirmed was not part of the legitimate supply chain. Check the batch number on your pack.

Where is the batch number on a flu vaccine?

It is printed on the outer box and on the syringe label, after Batch, Lot or B.No. Ask the pharmacist or nurse to show you before the injection.

What should I do if I received batch P13?

See your doctor, report it to DRAP on 0800-03727 or online, and ask whether you need a genuine dose. Keep the box or a photo of the label.

Is it safe to buy a flu vaccine online in Pakistan?

DRAP found the fake Influvac Tetra was supplied through online channels. Buy from a licensed pharmacy, hospital or clinic that stores vaccines in a fridge, and have it given there.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read DRAP Rapid Alert No I/S/10-30-48 (Influvac Tetra batch P13, dated 30 October 2026) and Rapid Alert No I/S/10-26-47 (Vaxigrip Tetra batch Y4B34, dated 27 October 2026) on DRAP's recall alerts page on 31 October 2026, along with DRAP's helpline hours and the Influvac entry on DRAP's PharmaPrice Index. The alerts do not say how many fake packs were found, where in Lahore they were sold, or whether anyone was harmed, so we have not guessed. We will add any new flu vaccine alert to this page.
