DRAP posted nine recall and rapid alerts between 19 and 30 October 2026, numbered 40 to 48, covering 23 batch numbers of medicines, vaccines and medical devices in Pakistan. The full list is in the table below, with the brand, the batch and what was wrong. Check any box at home against it, then read on for what to do with a pack that matches and where the alerts disagree with themselves.
We read every alert on the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan's recall alerts page on 31 October 2026. Before 19 October, the last alert on that page was number 39, posted on 29 July. Then nine came in twelve days.

Every DRAP recall alert of October 2026, with the batch numbers
These are the nine alerts DRAP posted from 19 to 30 October 2026. Five are spurious or falsified products, meaning fakes. Four are substandard, meaning a genuine maker's batch failed a lab test. Match the brand first, then the batch.

| 40 | 19 Oct | Nasomet aqueous nasal spray | FW-099 | Spurious, no mometasone found |
The batch count is our own: 23 numbers across the nine alerts, of which 11 sit in alert 41 alone. Each row links back to an alert on DRAP's site, and several have their own explainer with us, such as the fake Velosef, Augmentin, No-Spa Forte and Mucaine batches and the fake Influvac Tetra and Vaxigrip Tetra flu vaccines.
Five October alerts are fakes, four are substandard batches
A spurious or falsified product is a fake that pretends to be a known brand; the real maker has disowned it. A substandard product comes from the named maker but failed a test, such as sterility or impurities. Both mean stop using that batch.
The difference matters for what you do next. With a fake, the seller is the problem, so report the shop. With a substandard batch, the maker and distributor are told to recall it, and DRAP says consumers should contact the supplier, distributor or maker for a return or replacement. The plain meaning of each alert word is set out in what DRAP's alert words mean.

Check a pack at home in five steps
Find the batch number on the box, strip or bottle, usually after Batch, Lot or B.No. Compare it with the table above. Brand and batch must both match before a pack is caught by an alert. Then act on it.
- Collect every medicine box, strip and syringe pack in the house in one place.
- Read the brand name and the batch number on each one.
- Compare each pair with the table on this page.
- If a pack matches, stop using it, and keep it with the receipt.
- Call your doctor if you have already taken it, then report it to DRAP.
Do not stop a medicine your doctor prescribed for a serious condition without asking first. Ask for a replacement from another batch or another brand. The general method for older alerts is the same one used to check if your medicine batch has been recalled.

Two October alerts carry older action dates than their posting dates
Alert 41 was posted on 19 October 2026 but its own table gives the action date as 14 July 2026 and an internal number ending 07-26-36. Alert 42 was posted on 20 October with an action date of 8 June 2026. So these batches may have been flagged months earlier.
We cannot tell from the pages whether DRAP acted in June and July and only posted the alerts in October, or whether the dates are typing errors. Either way, the batch numbers are the part to check. Alert 45 has a smaller mismatch: its opening line says the samples failed on sterility testing, while the results column says organic impurities above the allowed limit for both products. We report both, as DRAP printed them.
The syringe alert 42 has its own explainer: the CLINIC 20 mL syringe recall. The water for injection alert 41 is covered in the Exoran and Exit injection recall.
Report a matching pack to DRAP on 0800-03727
DRAP's helpline is 0800-03727, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Side effects can be reported online through the national pharmacovigilance form linked in each alert. Keep the pack, the receipt and the seller's name, because inspectors need them.
For a fake bought from a shop or website, the steps to report counterfeit medicine to DRAP list exactly what to send. For a reaction after a dose, use the medicine side effect report. Hospitals and clinics that bought the cord clamp in alert 46 should pull stock, since DRAP calls the risk to newborns unacceptable.
Common questions
How many DRAP recall alerts were issued in October 2026?
Nine, numbered 40 to 48, posted between 19 and 30 October 2026. They name 23 batch numbers by our count.
Is all Augmentin or Velosef in Pakistan fake now?
No. DRAP named only Augmentin 625mg batch YT9D and Velosef 500mg batch LX3E as spurious. Other batches were not part of alert 43.
What is the difference between spurious and substandard?
Spurious means a fake copying a brand; the maker has disowned it. Substandard means a genuine batch failed a quality test. Stop using both.
Can I return a recalled medicine to the pharmacy?
DRAP tells consumers to contact the supplier, distributor or maker for a return or replacement, and tells pharmacies to quarantine stock and send it back. Take the pack and receipt with you.
Where do I see new DRAP alerts?
On DRAP's recall alerts page at dra.gov.pk, newest first. Each alert lists the product, batch, maker and advice.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read DRAP alerts 40 to 48 one by one on the DRAP recall alerts page and each alert's own page on 31 October 2026, plus the helpline line in DRAP's site footer. The batch total, the type split and the date mismatches are our reading of those pages. The alerts do not say how many packs were sold or where, and DRAP has not explained the older action dates on alerts 41 and 42, so we have not guessed. We will add any alert numbered 49 or later posted in October.
