Driving E-Licence Download in Pakistan: Punjab DLIMS, KP, Islamabad and AJK by CNIC
Download a driving e-licence in Pakistan from Punjab DLIMS, KP, Islamabad or AJK by CNIC. See what each portal asks for, the steps, and why to keep the card.

You can download a driving e-licence in Pakistan from four official portals: Punjab DLIMS (CNIC and date of birth), the KP traffic police site (CNIC, licence number and date of birth), Islamabad ITP DLIMS (licence number and CNIC) and AJK Police DLIMS (CNIC or passport, and date of birth). Each portal only gives copies of licences it issued.
We opened all four e-licence pages on 24 October 2026 and noted exactly what each one asks for. Below is a table, the steps, what to do if your province has no download, and one thing none of the pages promise.
Four portals offer an e-licence copy, each with different inputs
Punjab and AJK need your date of birth but not the licence number. Islamabad needs the licence number but not the date of birth. KP needs all three. Have the CNIC, the licence number and your date of birth ready before you start.
| Issued in | E-licence page | What you enter | Button |
|---|---|---|---|
| Punjab | dlims.punjab.gov.pk/elicense | CNIC or passport, date of birth, a simple sum | Generate e-License |
| Khyber Pakhtunkhwa | ptpkp.gov.pk/driving-elicense | CNIC, licence number, date of birth | Download eLicense |
| Islamabad | dlims.islamabadpolice.gov.pk/e-license | Licence number, CNIC | Generate e-License |
| Azad Kashmir | dlims.ajkpolice.gok.pk/elicense | CNIC or passport, date of birth, a simple sum | Generate E-License |

Punjab DLIMS gives regular, international and juvenile e-licences
The Punjab e-License page has three tabs: Regular License, International License and Juvenile Permit. You type the CNIC or passport number without dashes, your date of birth as year, month and day, and the answer to a small sum.
Pick the tab that matches your licence. An international licence is linked to your passport, so enter the passport number on that tab. The Punjab DLIMS e-License page lists 042-99202892 and info@dlims.punjab.gov.pk for problems.
Punjab's DLIMS also handles duplicates and international licences. If the card is lost, the e-copy gives you the number you need for a duplicate driving licence in Punjab.
KP and Islamabad want the licence number
The KP and Islamabad pages both ask for the licence number with the CNIC. KP also asks for your date of birth. If you do not know your licence number, verify the licence first, which in KP needs only the CNIC.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the E-License page on the Peshawar Traffic Police site describes the download as an eCopy of your driving licence. The site sits behind a security check that takes a few seconds to clear. The verification and fee details are in KPK driving licence verification.
Islamabad's page is headed "Islamabad E-License" and asks for the licence number and a 13-digit CNIC without dashes. The learner permit and licence checks on the same portal are in verifying an Islamabad licence on ITP DLIMS.

How to download your e-licence in five steps
Find which province issued your card, open that portal's e-licence page, choose regular or international where offered, enter the details exactly as on your records, then generate and save the copy as a PDF or screenshot.
- Check the card or an old receipt for the issuing province.
- Open that province's e-licence page from the table above.
- Choose Regular or International License if the page offers tabs.
- Enter the CNIC without dashes, plus the licence number or date of birth as asked.
- Answer the sum, press the generate button, and save the copy on your phone.
If the page says no record, check the date format first. Punjab's form asks for the date as year, month, day, and a date typed the other way round is the most common reason a real licence is not found.

None of the four pages says the e-copy replaces the card
The pages call it an e-licence or eCopy, but none of the four states that a traffic officer must accept it in place of the plastic card. Keep the card with you when you drive. Use the e-copy as a backup and for paperwork.
The e-copy is still handy. It shows your licence details when the card is lost, helps when an employer or car rental office asks for a copy, and gives you the number for a duplicate application.
Three regions are missing from the table. On the Quetta Traffic Police site we found a verification page but no e-licence download, as set out in Balochistan driving licence verification. The Gilgit-Baltistan portal did not load for us on 24 October, and the Sindh licence site held us at a security check. Their verification routes are compared in driving licence verification in every province.
Common questions
How do I download my Punjab e-licence?
Open dlims.punjab.gov.pk/elicense, choose the licence type, enter your CNIC or passport and date of birth, answer the sum and press Generate e-License.
Can I download an e-licence without the licence number?
In Punjab and AJK, yes. They use the CNIC or passport and your date of birth. KP and Islamabad need the licence number.
Is an e-licence valid instead of the card?
None of the four pages we read says so. Carry the physical card when you drive.
Can I get an e-licence for an international driving licence?
Punjab and AJK have an International License option that uses your passport number. KP and Islamabad did not show a separate option.
Is there an e-licence for Sindh or Balochistan?
We did not find one for Balochistan, and we could not open the Sindh licence site on 24 October 2026.
Does the e-licence cost anything?
None of the four pages asked for a payment to generate the copy.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
On 24 October 2026 we opened the Punjab DLIMS e-License page, the KP E-License page, the Islamabad ITP DLIMS e-licence page and the AJK Police DLIMS e-licence page, and recorded each form's fields and buttons. We did not generate an e-licence, because that needs a real licence holder's details, so we have not seen the output or confirmed whether it carries a QR code on every portal.
