Excise Sindh App: Vehicle Verification, Token Tax Check and Insurance on Your Phone
The Excise Sindh app verifies a vehicle and checks if its tax is clear by number. See how to use it, recent updates, OTP problems and the website backup routes.

The Excise Sindh app is the official phone app of the Sindh Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department: type a vehicle number and it shows whether the vehicle is registered and whether its tax is clear. It is free on Google Play and the App Store, and the department's website links to both.
We read both store listings and the Sindh Excise website on 24 October 2026. Below is what the app does, how to use it, what changed in recent updates, the problems users report, and the website routes to use when the app will not cooperate.
The Excise Sindh app checks registration and tax by vehicle number
The app's store listing names four main features: vehicle verification, a tax calculator for new two and four wheelers, search history that works online and offline, and motor vehicle tax details. You enter the vehicle number by hand.
The Google Play listing says plainly: "This is an official app from Excise and Taxation Department Sindh." The developer is shown as Sapphire Consulting Services, the firm that builds it for the department. The Sindh Excise website, excise.gos.pk, links to this exact app under Download Mobile App, which is the safest way to be sure you have the right one.

How to verify a Sindh vehicle in the app
Install the app from the link on excise.gos.pk, register, open vehicle verification and type the registration number. The result shows the registration and tax status.
- Open excise.gos.pk and tap the Google Play or App Store button under Download Mobile App.
- Install Excise Sindh and open it.
- Register in the app and enter the one-time code (OTP) it sends you.
- Choose Vehicle Verification, pick the vehicle type if asked, and type the number as on the plate.
- Read the registration and tax status. If the vehicle is yours, add it to the My Vehicles screen.
Type the number exactly as the plate shows it. The department's website gives the format example AAA-123456 for its own lookup, and a wrong dash or a missing letter is the usual reason a real vehicle comes back empty.

Recent updates added insurance checks and PSID details
The latest Android update lists a refreshed design, an updated My Vehicles screen, and an "enhanced insurance check flow and PSID detail handling". A PSID is the payment slip ID you use to pay tax through a bank or wallet.
The iPhone version's notes for version 1.5.4 add two items worth knowing. Users "can now view tax details without requiring vehicle insurance", and the app gained a request feature and a status check for the "People's Motorcycle Fuel Subsidy Program". The store note gives no rules for that programme, so we cannot tell you who qualifies. Check with the department before relying on it.
Third-party insurance became mandatory under an amendment to the Sindh motor vehicles law, as the department's news page reported on 7 March 2026. Before paying any insurer, confirm it is on the Sindh Excise approved insurer list.
Users report OTP delays, so keep the website as a backup
Several App Store reviews complain that the sign-up code never arrived, and one from August says the iPhone app lacks the insurance payment that Android users have. If the app stalls, the same checks work on excise.gos.pk without an account.
The website's Online Services section offers these routes, all of which we opened on 24 October 2026:
| Need | Website route on excise.gos.pk | What you enter |
|---|---|---|
| Check a vehicle before buying | Online Vehicle Verification | Category and registration number, plus a security check |
| See vehicles in your name | Vehicle Verification by CNIC | Your CNIC |
| Track a number plate | Check Your Number Plate | Registration number |
| Pay tax | Quick Online Tax Payment | Vehicle registration details |
| Work out new registration tax | Online Tax Calculator | Vehicle details |
The CNIC route is set out in checking vehicles registered on your CNIC in Sindh, plate tracking in tracking a Sindh number plate, and paying in paying Sindh vehicle tax online.

Call the Sindh Excise call centre on 021-111-374-634
The Sindh Excise website lists a call centre that runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on (021) 111-374-634. Call it if the app or website shows a vehicle you do not own, a tax figure you dispute, or no record at all.
Have the registration number, chassis number and your CNIC ready. If a vehicle you sold still shows in your name, the fix is a completed transfer, explained in transferring vehicle ownership in Sindh. A car registered outside Sindh will not appear in this app at all; Islamabad, KP and Balochistan run their own systems.
Common questions
Is the Excise Sindh app official?
Yes. Its Play Store listing says it is an official app of the Excise and Taxation Department Sindh, and excise.gos.pk links to it.
Can I check token tax in the Excise Sindh app?
Yes. The listing says you can check whether a vehicle's tax is clear and see motor vehicle tax details.
Why is the Excise Sindh app not sending an OTP?
Some users report OTP delays in App Store reviews. Wait, try again later, or use the same checks on excise.gos.pk, which need no sign-up.
Can I check a Punjab or Islamabad vehicle in the app?
No. The app covers vehicles registered with Sindh Excise only.
Does the app show vehicles registered on my CNIC?
The store listing does not say so. The website's Vehicle Verification by CNIC page does.
Is the Excise Sindh app free?
Yes. Both store listings show it as free.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
On 24 October 2026 we read the Excise Sindh listing on Google Play, the App Store listing, and the Sindh Excise website, including its Online Vehicle Verification form, its app links, its call centre number and its news page on third-party insurance. We did not install the app or register, so we have not seen its screens, and we could not confirm the rules of the motorcycle fuel subsidy feature named in the iPhone update note.
