Short answer: FBISE says it awards merit scholarships to 160 students at SSC level and 160 at HSSC level every year. You apply on the board's form, by hand at the board office, by post to the Director Research in H-8/4 Islamabad, or by the online link sent to notified students. FBISE does not print the amount on its page.

A strong result card can earn money, but only if the family knows the scholarship exists. FBISE has a page for it, with forms and merit lists going back years. Many families never open it.

We read the FBISE scholarships page and the application form on 14 October 2026. We could not find the cash amount, the cut-off marks or this year's closing date, and we say so below. If you studied at an FBISE school or college, the notice for your result year is what counts.

The scholarship covers 320 places each year

FBISE says it awards merit scholarships to 160 students at SSC level and 160 at HSSC level every year. That is 320 places in all. The page says the amount is paid annually, not as one lump sum, and it does not state how much.

One hundred and sixty FBISE merit scholarships at SSC and 160 at HSSC each year

SSC means matric, and HSSC means intermediate. A student who won at SSC and then won again at HSSC is not mentioned either way on the page. Ask the board if that applies to you.

Three ways to send the form

You can fill in the paper form and hand it in at the board office, post it to the Director Research at FBISE, Sector H-8/4, Islamabad, or use the online link. Since 2024 the board also offers online submission, with a link sent by WhatsApp or email to students who are notified.

Keep your phone number and email on your result record up to date. If a student changes numbers, the board's link will not reach them. A mistake in a name or date of birth also causes trouble; see how NADRA and FBISE link student records.

The form asks for result, bank and school details

The two-part proforma asks for the student's name, father's name, postal address, phone and email. It asks which exam you passed, the year, roll number, group and marks, with a copy of the result card attached. It also asks for the CNIC and the bank account IBAN of the person who will receive the money.

What the FBISE merit scholarship form asks the student and the school to fill in

The second part is for your present institution. The principal, director, head of department, dean or vice chancellor certifies the course, its length and the semester or year, with a seal and signature. A note on the form says the scholarship is paid yearly, on proof of the latest two semester or year results.

The first instruction printed on the form is to attach a copy of Form B. Form B is the child registration certificate from NADRA. Other instructions may be on the board's notification, so read the notice for your result year.

Gather your papers before the notice appears

The notice for a result year can be short. Having papers ready saves days. You need a clear copy of the result card, a copy of Form B, a bank account in the name of the person who will receive the money, and a signed and stamped letter from your institution.

  1. Scan your result card and Form B.
  2. Open a bank account, or confirm the IBAN of a parent or guardian.
  3. Download the FBISE scholarship application form.
  4. Fill in the student part in block letters.
  5. Ask your principal or head of department to sign and stamp the second part.
Five steps to prepare an FBISE merit scholarship application

Watch the board's notices around the result. If you are unhappy with a mark, read about FBISE recounting of marks, because a small change can change your place in the merit list. Students who plan to improve their marks should also read the rules for improving marks after passing.

Other help if you miss out

If you do not get this scholarship, other options exist for school and university costs. Students with a financial need can look at the HEC need-based scholarship, and families with a child at any level can read about the Bait-ul-Mal education stipend.

The FBISE page also lists separate merit lists for Gilgit-Baltistan students, by exam year. Lists on the page go back to 2005 for SSC and HSSC. Find your own year to see whether your name was listed.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 14 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the FBISE scholarships page and the application form it links. The page does not give the amount, the cut-off marks or this year's closing date. Call the board on 111 032 473 to confirm before you apply.
