FPSC has opened Consolidated Advertisement No. 4/2026, dated 6 November 2026. It covers 278 vacancies in 48 cases, from BS-16 to BS-20. Apply online by Monday 23 November 2026. The written test is tentatively from 2 January 2027. The fee is Rs 600 to Rs 3,000.
Federal job seekers waited almost three months for this. The last round, Consolidated Advertisement No. 3/2026, was dated 11 August. We downloaded the 23-page scan from the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) jobs page on 7 November 2026, read every case and added up the seats ourselves. FPSC prints no total, so 278 is our own count.
One post dominates. Assistant Audit Officer (BS-17) in the Office of the Auditor General has 160 of the 278 seats. Federal Medical College Demonstrator has 25, the Economists Group in the Planning Ministry has 12, and Nurse at AFIRM Rawalpindi has 10. Thirty of the 48 cases have just one seat, so read the domicile column before you pay.

Case F.4-215 is Assistant Director Legal; its heading is cut off in FPSC's scan, and we took the number from the sequence on either side.
Posts that match your degree in FPSC Advertisement 4/2026
Most readers start from a degree, not a post title. This grouping is ours and is only a starting point. FPSC's wording for each case decides eligibility, and many posts also need a second class degree or years of experience, so read your case carefully.
| Your background | Posts to read first |
|---|---|
| Commerce, finance, economics, statistics, maths | Assistant Audit Officer (160), Economists Group (12), Ordnance Management Officer, Junior Establishment and Finance Officer |
| MBBS and medical specialists | Demonstrator (25), Civilian Medical Practitioner (4), PIMS Professor (6), PIMS Associate Professor (2) |
| Nursing | Nurse at AFIRM, Rawalpindi (10) |
| Civil, mechanical, electrical, telecom engineering | Four Railways engineering and stores cases (11 seats), Assistant Chief (Power), Research Officer (Physical Planning) |
| Computer science and IT | Assistant Director (Web Development), Deputy Chief (Energy Information Systems) |
| Law | Assistant Draftsman, Assistant Director Legal, Junior Civilian Labour Officer |
| Any second class Master's | Assistant Director at FPSC (2) |
| Any second class Bachelor's plus experience | Store Officer, Junior Ordnance Management Officer, Assistant Warden Girls Hostel (women only) |
One note surprises people. Junior Scientific Officer at the OS Directorate wants a B.Tech in Textile or Mechanical, and FPSC prints that a B.E. degree is not admissible for this case. Do not assume an engineering degree is close enough.
How to apply for an FPSC post before 23 November
FPSC takes General Recruitment applications online only and wants no hard copy. You fill the form, create a PSID, pay through 1-Link, and keep your details. The portal lets you edit once before closing. Leave at least a week, in case your bank or documents cause a delay.
- Read the FPSC General Instructions on the FPSC jobs page, along with your case in the scanned advertisement.
- Open the FPSC online portal and start the form for your case number.
- Enter an active email address. FPSC says it will now contact candidates only by email and SMS.
- If you are a government servant, get your Departmental Permission Certificate first and enter its reference number.
- Generate the PSID and pay by ATM, mobile banking, Easypaisa, JazzCash or over the counter. The FPSC fee by PSID has the screen-by-screen route.
- Check your application, and save your tracking details.
The two steps of the FPSC form are worth a read before you begin.
Five FPSC rules can cost you the post
Most rejections come from the form or the documents, not from the test. FPSC decides eligibility up to the closing date and treats what you enter as final. These five rules are printed in the instructions of this advertisement, so check them before you pay your fee.
- One edit only. You can edit an application once before the closing date.
- No late experience. FPSC calls an experience claim added after the form "afterthought" and will not accept it. The post-qualification experience rule explains what counts.
- Separate fee per category. For the PIMS Professor and Associate Professor posts, each specialty needs its own application and its own fee.
- Phones mean a permanent ban. A phone or any electronic device in the hall means disqualification and a permanent bar from future FPSC tests.
- Keep documents ready. Being asked for documents does not mean you are shortlisted, and a late or incomplete set can lead to rejection.
What happens after you apply
FPSC says the test schedule and syllabus will appear on its website after this advertisement, and no separate notice will be sent. The admission certificate goes online a couple of weeks before the test. Bring your original CNIC and a downloaded copy of it.
The Commission puts the duty on you. Its disclaimer says it is not responsible if you miss something posted on its website. Make a habit of opening the FPSC admission certificate section from mid December. Our list of the other commissions that are open is in public service commission jobs open now.
